Ukraine has pulled out all the stops to fight Russia and they are not losing. Imagine what would've happend if they'd gotten those Mig-29's.
People in the city of Buche, Kiev region, died at the hands of the Ukrainian military. Scott Ritter, an American military analyst and former UN weapons inspector in Iraq, analyzed the events that took place and shared the results during a webinar on the events in Ukraine. He recalled the statements of the Russian military, who occupied Bucha for several weeks and had good relations with the local population. "They had something like barter: they exchanged their dry rations for food. The residents of Bucha gave them eggs, milk, cheese, and the Russians gave them their rations, flour, salt, sugar, and meat. Then the Russians left. Everyone who was involved in such interaction with the Russians was now regarded as collaborators," Ritter explained. The analyst also made his conclusions based on the statement of the Ukrainian military that "they are heading to Bucha on April 1 to purge and eliminate collaborators." However, Ritter says, this completely contradicts the approach of the Russian troops, who treat the residents of Ukraine with respect and try not to harm civilians. "Ukraine says: if you cooperate with the Russians, you will die. They have a video of a high-ranking political representative who announced in social networks to the residents of Bucha. "Stay in the houses, the national police are cleaning. Don't panic, stay at home," Ritter said. He believes that Ukrainian punishers shot at civilians in the streets and knocked on the doors of those who cooperated with the Russian military, for which they were killed. "We have a video where the Ukrainian police, namely the Azov group, proudly declares that they are going on safari. The name of the Ukrainian special police unit that entered Bucha was "Safari". And they conducted a "safari" to clean up pro-Russian collaborators. Purge means kill. Not to capture, but to kill. And they do it. And then they go and take off the corpses and say that the Russians did it," the analyst noted. In addition, Ritter says, most of the bodies lying on the video are from the Bucha with white armbands on their sleeves, "which means that they were telling the Russians: we are on your side, don't kill us." He also points out that "next to each body is a green box from the rations they were carrying when they were killed." "In the case when they don't have a white bandage, they don't have it because their hands were tied behind their backs with it. These people were killed not by Russians, but by Ukrainians. But this is not a thesis that is being promoted here (in the USA. - Ed.). They say the opposite here," Ritter pointed out. He also focuses on the fact that the bodies in the footage do not look like those that have lain since the withdrawal of Russian troops. "What you saw on TV are people who have just been killed. And we have more evidence: the Mexican journalist got into trouble on the same day when the Ukrainians announced it. And he took off the bodies. Fresh blood. He said that these people were killed recently," the expert said. In his opinion, the victims were killed on April 1 by the Ukrainian national police. "And then the US President [Joe Biden] comes out and says that this is a war crime committed by the Russians, and [the Russian leader] Vladimir Putin must be held accountable in The Hague. This is a propaganda war unlike anything we have seen in our time," Ritter summed up.

You are all assuming that Russian technology is advanced. They have no industrial development and yet people think that they can just magically develop technology because they have lots of money. That money has been very poorly used in Russia and they still have the same culture they did 20 years ago. It's fascinating to watch, through the Ukrainians, NATO doctrine for the most part fight Soviet doctrine. NATO is clearly winning, a "bottom up" approach where commanders give the general goal but it's left to the local commander, even the individual, to show flexibility and initiative. Perhaps it shows since Cold War I that the Soviets never felt a need to change their doctrine because they were never actually challenged.
No the problem is that they cannot allow to change. You cannot have a dictatorship and at the same time allow freedom to local commanders and individuals. This is not how it works. I've been born in 90s in Ukraine and we still had some soviet relics in our society at that time, and I can tell you that your freedom to make your own decision is suppressed starting from the school years. You are not allowed to have an opinion that is different from official opinion, for example when you write an essay for literature course and your opinion doesn't reflect the opinion expected by the teacher you'll get a low grade. The difference between Ukraine and Russia in this regard is that since the fall of USSR Ukraine has started to change while Russia has not. So I guarantee you that Russia is stuck with this top-down approach until they get rid of dictatorship.
@@darkwhite123 russia has gone to war with nations that could not oppose them at all. Also, NATO did not evolve the fighter tactics because they were fighting insurgents with AKs. There was a Soviet officer that was quoted during the cold war as saying "Reading the US military manuals is useless as they dont even follow their own guidelines in war"
The tactic from ukraine's airforce are now similar at the western airforces: smaller but smarter, and smart is not limited at top end modern equipement, but more based on high flexibility level: for example the french airforce push this concept far with a single omnirole combat aircraft concept (Rafale), even the older mirage 2000's are converted to advanced flexibility...

What strikes me historically about the Ukraine Air Force are two different conflicts- first is the War of Continuation 1944 between the Finnish Air Force vs the Soviets, which included Allied supplied Lend Lease planes and the North Vietnamese Air Force during the Vietnam War. The Finns fought for local air superiority and air ground support with dispersed air units and Luftwaffe Bomber support- hit and run tactics but ultimately the weight of Soviet material prevailed but at a cost that Stalin decided to stop operations. The Vietnamese Air Force had an excellent ground to air network, a massive AA artillery courtesy of the Chinese and the world’s most sophisticated SAM network provided by Russia. While unable to sweep the skies of American aircraft, this Air Force survived and at one point made the fighter aircraft kill ratio unacceptable to the USAF and US naval air units. Top Gun training program was created to emulate Soviet tactics so US fighter pilots could improve their dogfighting skills- it succeeded Top Gun is still with us today. Both conflicts the Finns and the North Vietnamese used asymmetrical tactics against a superior enemy force something so far Ukraine’s Air Force is succeeding at.
NO, this is, in general, NATO's Vietnam for Russia, and not a "war for" something there. Absolutely inadequate brutality + experimental weapons range for the USA and Germany, and that's it.

The other issue that effected the skills of the Russian pilots , has been the amount of time in the air every month , to practise their skills In the West pilots can get between 30- 50 hours a month in the air , the Russians as little as 8-10 hours. NATO and the West practise operating their planes in mass formations and practise coordinating with EWACS planes. This seems to have led to a tactical inability, for the russians to use their superiority in numbers and more modern planes
There is also the issue that military culture cannot just change in a single generation. Ukraine has had a desire to change for a long period of time and then took training from the west. Russia has had no such desire.
Yeah we've really got to hope the Russians don't start to catch up after this and we can send Ukrainians newer jet and ones of the models they use so they can REALLY push the Russians back out of the skies.

What little benefit the Russians get from upgraded avionics is more than negated by the fact they are fighting over hostile territory, with "eyes on the ground" being a large advantage for the Ukrainians. Just remember that even the US is using mostly fourth generation aircraft (F-15, F-16, F-18), and Russia has no operational fifth generation (stealth) aircraft in use at all.
@@IamTheStormThatIsApproaching1 The SU-57 is claimed by Russia to be a true 5th gen aircraft (though they have admitted - I believe - it's not as stealthy as its 5th gen American counterparts) - but they only have about 12 hand-built prototypes and maybe 2-3 actual serial production models - they just don't have the money (or now access to western technology/parts) to build any more...
The only problem is that, this claimed effectiveness is only seen in the media. In reality, tell me, where is the UAF? Why no Russ position came under their fire in the last whole month? Tell me what that says about this news?
Our friend at 00.25 is flying his SU-25 with the sleeves of the flying suit rolled up. This is hazardous in case of an in-flight fire or ejection, so much so that US Armed Forces flight suits are designed so that it is next to impossible to roll up the sleeves...
Good luck to Ukraine! Having worked supply for a training squadron i can tell you the nonstop tempo grounds jet as fast as any missile. And a tired pilot isn't worth putting in the air, at least in my opinion but never flown one just heard plenty get chewed out.
I side with Ukraine but lets be truthful. By Western reports and the Ukrainians' own admission, The Ukraine AF is down to only running 5-10 sorties a day. The Russians are still running 200+ sorties a day. Did the Russian AF really perform badly? They had nearly achieve total air dominance. I think they did as expected, its the ground invasion that went really really badly.
I won't call loosing 4-5 jets a day and the same amount of helicopters an air dominance, not to mention the word "total". The point of air domination is to destroy all barriers for air forces, including any significant ground-based air defense systems. Which was never achieved by Russians. They were expected to completely destroy Ukrainian air forces in the first 3 hours of the invasion. Never happened even after one month of active war. Meanwhile the vast majority of Russian sorties happen over occupied territories launching medium-range missiles towards Ukrainian towns.

Considering that this war will likely last extended periods of time on the eastern front. It could be very possible for the us to train and supply Ukrainians with f16s. In the mean time I really do hope the old su27s and t72s that other countries are offering to Ukraine get in to help stem the Russians off.
I’d like to point out that I stand corrected and like a day or two after posting this nato definitively stated they will not be sending any fighter aircraft to Ukraine.
You could say the same thing with American jets. ATF program started development in the 80s, yet the F-22 is still one of the best fighters up to date. So what's your point? Lol
Most of the Russian jets are just minor upgrades on the older ones. They are not that much faster or maneuverable or fly higher or anything. The Su-35 has vectored thrusters, but those rarely make any difference. They might have slightly better radar or slightly better avionics. It would be like taking an F-15 A against an F-15D... actually probably even less. Yes the older AIM-120 might have had a 120km range instead of a 160km range, but I'm not even sure if they are using different missiles. TheSu-57 is the first real new fighter jet they have made in a LONG time and they are struggle massively with engines, cost overruns, and delays. They were supposed to have hundreds if not over a thousand by now, but all the have is a few 2 seat trainers with older engines and maybe a few prototypes lacking full avionics.
Russian air force is a paper tiger - the same as whole army - from those 500 attack planes maybe 250 can fly, plus the main problem is the quality of pilots - maybe there are 150-200 good pilots with some combat expierence and Russia is loosing a few planes per day in last few weeks - this is a huge loss for russia's arrmy
@@JohnieDSM I would say less than that... maybe 1-2 good fighter wing (20-24 each) and they don't want to risk them. Most of the Russian military is trained to do things by the book... a 50 year old book. If the think outside the box they get in trouble. Ukraine knows this and after Russia annexed Crimea in 2014 they have been training to counter this. They will not face a direct assault and instead will pull back and shell from a distance. When it is windy or dark they can not send out drones or use artillery so the Ukrainians close in and ambush them. Ukraine still has fighter jets left and flies missions against them. They are stationed in the far west and mostly strike Russian forces around Kyiv. I do not know how many they have left but they have shown 4 in one video. They had 6 drones and Turkey sent them at least 20 more. Russia has only managed to shoot down 2-3 of them. Ukraine also has been hunting those Electronic Warfare jammers. They can not fly drones while they are on, but Russia can not run them continuously, so when they turn off they go hunting fort hem and have been able to figure out how to triangulate on a rough area to find them. Those things cost Russia $43 million each and they have taken out 3 and captured 2... and one of the captured ones is being shipped to the US. Come on Russian has lost 7 Generals, a Fleet Admiral, and something like 10 Lt Generals already. One committed suicide after 90% of his tank force was incapacitated or destroyed nd he was afraid of what Putin would do to him and his family. Another was run over by his own men crushing his legs. Russia's top sniper was captured after he was wounded and his battalion fled abandoning him. Reports are saying that Ukraine hs more tanks and BMPs than they started the war with because they have been taking the lightly damaged and/or abandoned ones, fixing them up, and repainting them. One shop in Kyiv has done this to over 100 vehicles, but over half are armored SUVs or transport trucks. They had reclaimed only about 15 tanks as of about a week ago.
@@brainblessed5814 True, but the letter increases and updates on most US jets are more significant that even new models for Russia. Even look at the new upgrades for the A-10. They are getting new wings to replace the fatigued wings so the can fly another 4 years. The new wings can mount all the new ordinance plus several in development. This includes data links for one so they can be programmed on the fly or munitions with targeting systems. They updated all the radar, communications, display screens, IR, data links... Same chassis, same armored cockpit, same engines, same gun... but far more capable. Being able to incorporate radar from other planes in the area, AWACS, satellite... and have other jets in forward position target for them or vs versa. The jet can operate better in poor weather and night time too... and they are upgrading all of them. See Russia has a lot of old assets and most of it is not upgraded. They will upgrade some or build newer models, but they still rely heavily on the older craft. They have far more Su-29 and 30 than Su-35 and far more Mi-30 than MiG-31 and they have only 5 Su-57 (4 are trainers and they all use older engines) with only have 76 ordered and 8 MiG-35 with only 30 ordered. Tanks are even worse. Their T-90 makes up only 5% of their tanks with 1/3 of the rest being T-80 and 2/3 being T-72. And they are hoping to get 100 T-14 later this year or next year. Same with their BMPs... pretty much everything. They do not replace stuff, just add some new stuff to the pile of old junk.
I've watched videos where commanders have told pilots "go out and have some fun". That's what pilots need, to be able to have liberty to apply their instinct to their skills.
Russia is bombing Ukraine every single day, in what capacity is Ukraine air force exceeding expecations? They exist only on paper and Ukrainian anti-air defence is virtually unable to shot down all the cruise missiles and rockets Russian and pro-russian forces fire on Ukrainian towns.
That's not true, cause Western specialists say that when many missles are launched, even more superior Western technology may have a problem with itercepting them, and if you see, many russian jets, helys and missles try to fly under the radar in order to not be detected by Ukrainian radars. And still exceeding is that Western analysts said Kyiv would fall in 3 days and Ukrainian AF in some hours or even 1-2 days
If Ukrainian pilots have been training hard these few years, it means that they actually saw this day coming, Russia's inevitable invasion. Who is the real existential threat now?
Russia has been the threat since 1945. No one has invaded them since Wirld War II but THEY have repeatedly invaded others. Then they wonder why these others wanted unto NATO ?!? FOR PROTECTION !
"Who is the real existential threat now?" Russia. Russia is the existential threat to ukraine causing it possibly to no longer exist/ change governments etc.
"Their aircraft date from the 2010s and later." Yeeaaahhhh, about that.... The Russian Air Force procurement policy since the early 2000s is marked by inconsistency and a lack of dedication. While Russia has acquired the latest models of the Su-27 series, it has acquired each new model only in enough numbers to equip a few squadrons or a small number of air regiments at any one time. And when another variant model comes out from Sukhoi, the Air Force repeats this pattern. This repetitive system seems to serve the purpose of keeping Sukhoi from going bankrupt, because the end result is an Air Force inventory of aircraft that are incompatible with each other and with ground systems. Different avionics, engines, communication systems mean separate supply chains for spare parts, and a lack of interoperability. The irony is that the older Su-27 aircraft probably create the least headaches for Russian pilots and groundcrews, meaning that there isn't that difference between the two air forces in terms of operational parity.
This is not entirely true, Russia is pretty much fighting with the same late 1980's tech with the Su-25, Su-27 and Mig-29 as Ukraine, now Russia does have some more modern Su-35's but not tons of them and the Su-57 is basically non existent because they only have 14 of them. For Western fighters we could give them the F-18 or Swedish Gripen which would be better than the F-16, both can operate from less than glass smooth roadways that are a bit short, the F-16 not so much. That dispersal of aircraft is essential in war because the enemy will target your air bases, both the Soviets and Sweden understood this and created aircraft with tough landing gear, great brakes etc. for this purpose.
Russian are mostly fighting with Su-35, Su-34s, and Su-30s. They don't seem to be using MiG-29s very much, and most of the Russian MiG-29s are not in Frontline service. Compared to avionics and Radar, and active radar guided missiles and datalinks that is where the Russians are a significant margin ahead. The Ukrainians have only semi active radar guided missiles, and limit stocks of them and no AWACs, and only limited data link. Which means the Russians as long as the don't over extend can keep the Ukrainians at bay with their active radar guided missiles able to fire from further range, and they don't need the firing aircraft to maintain radar lock to guide the missile to target. Which means the Russians can engage and fire from further standoff distance, and then go cold once the active radar missiles own radar kicks in, while the semi active radar ones Ukraine has have no internal radar and need the jets radar to guide it all the way to target. Basically Ukraine has to ambush and surprise the Russians or catch the in a error to properly engage them, or draw them in where Ukraines airdefence can hit them. Think of it like a big game of dodgeball in the dark, but the Russians have night vision googles, and the Ukrainians have small flashlights tied to their heads and one guy with Nightvision goggles in the back giving them directions, and the Ukrainians just have regular dodge balls, and the Russians have high powered nerf guns
I suspect they also get abit of help from NATO sigint. Especially the continual drum beat of them along Ukraines border. It can't hurt to know exactly where your enemy is by using resources that can't be knocked out. Couple that with satellite imagery that tracks every movement of your ground forces. Suddenly the odds are more even and you wonder why Russia didn't see all this coming.
Imagine if the West would not have been so yellow and instead of 'contemplating action' had taken action and sent modern fighter jets like F35 to the Ukrainians. Or some five thousand SAMs for that matter.
Sending F35's to the Ukrainians? Are you deluded, stupid or both? You can't just give over aircraft and expect pilots/ ground crew to deploy it straight away. Pilots would need months, if not years, of theoretical and flight practice - not to mention being competent to use the complex avionics suite which they've never seen before. And the ground crew/maintainers needing all of the tooling/staging/ ground handling equipment to maintain the jets. Not to mention the £100million+ investment each jet has cost the provider. And to provide the fuel and munitions to fly/arm the aircraft? And to do all this while they're at war? The list goes on. Such an incredibly naiive statement to say "just send them jets" ..

The analyst also made his conclusions based on the statement of the Ukrainian military that "they are heading to Bucha on April 1 to purge and eliminate collaborators."
However, Ritter says, this completely contradicts the approach of the Russian troops, who treat the residents of Ukraine with respect and try not to harm civilians.
In addition, Ritter says, most of the bodies lying on the video are from the Bucha with white armbands on their sleeves, "which means that they were telling the Russians: we are on your side, don't kill us." He also points out that "next to each body is a green box from the rations they were carrying when they were killed."
"In the case when they don't have a white bandage, they don't have it because their hands were tied behind their backs with it.
What would Russia do if they went up on the US and our planes I would love to see the us fly cover for the Ukrainian troops

I lived through the cold war. Russia's equipment never, and I mean never, performs like they claim. And NATO exaggerates Russian capabilities. The Russian air force would be a pile of smoking ash in a week if they tried to engage NATO. Like their hypersonic missile is NOT a hypersonic missile , and the media is too lazy to explain the diff. It is a missile developed in 80's with some delta wings so that after it finishes it's burn it can change trajectory in flight. Possibly making it easier to spot on radar, not harder. A real hypersonic missile is full power to target.
There is an fighter pilot saying that is as old as aerial combat itself. You can put an experienced pilot in an old plane and you can put a new pilot in a new plane and the old pilot will win every time. You add this to the fact the west , mainly US and British airforces have been training these people in tactics in defeating the Russian airforce. Add the fact they were already versed in Soviet/Russian tactics the Russians still use giving the Ukrainians a huge edge.
In air combat, your first weapon of choice is maintenance. Have an aircraft with all systems operational on the battlefield is your best chance of victory. That is certainly what the Ukrainian air Force had learnt first, and best.

The other issue that effected the skills of the Russian pilots , has been the amount of time in the air every month , to practise their skills
In the West pilots can get between 30- 50 hours a month in the air , the Russians as little as 8-10 hours.

A properly skilled pilot even in a older generation jet fighter that Ukraine has can take out any unskilled pilot in the latest generation aircraft! Also one of the reasons why you don't hear as much about the air force is because they are trying to keep as much as covert as possible just like one of the main pilots said in this video. Now, just because there isn't as much as coverage about there jets attacking Russian positions, doesn't mean it's not happening. Also , why you don't see as many videos about there air force targeting Russian positions is because Ukraine has been tactically using Drones to attack Russian positions. The Ukraine AF is down to only running 5-10 sorties a day.
The reason your ground forces are doing badly is because you don't have total air domination. That is the problem.

Sometimes it's not the arrow.
Sometimes it's the archer.
Lol, Ukraine doesn't have an airforce anymore.
Thank you for saying it man
You must be a highly placed officer in Ukraine's Air Force to have this intel! I'm sure that's the case...
The information war is so successful that people believes in sending "aid" to Ukraine 😆
Goebbels news® works indeed.
Please keep going 👍
Ukraine have more Ace fighters in one month than Russia in 10 years.
🤣🤣🤣🤡🤡🤡
it is because of this that most of their aircraft have already been destroyed,I'm talking about Ukraine

Well done boys………keep going and fly safe …!
Well Russian planes might have been built in the 2010s. But it's probably 1980's technology.
You could say the same thing with American jets. ATF program started development in the 80s, yet the F-22 is still one of the best fighters up to date. So what's your point? Lol

UKRAINE.
Which one?
Free countries help Ukraine and bless it with fighter Jets!
Anyone hear anything about the "Ghost of Kyiv" in the most recent days?
How long would it take to re-badge a re-commissioned F-15? Just wondering... I hear Ukrainian pilots are fast learners.
Slava Ukraine 🇺🇦.
They won’t make a difference
Well to be fair US has made only two new fighter jets after cold war. Rest are 'just' upgrades of existing ones.
They do not replace stuff, just add some new stuff to the pile of old junk.
what a well done video.
Geaux Ukraine pilots GEAUX! Nail 'em! Slava Ukraine! 🇺🇦🇫🇷🇺🇸

@@alexokunnur8946 you are probably right, but think of it this way: those depots would be targeted regardless of this morning's event
Ukraine have no air force anymore, its been destroyed. All these so called western experts are either being paid to lie or are completely incompetent.
Russia invaded Ukraine 8 years ago. That's why. They've been training hard and Ukraine's military became more powerful since then.
"Who is the real existential threat now?" Russia. Russia is the existential threat to ukraine causing it possibly to no longer exist/ change governments etc.
i hope they train the ukrainian teenagers and civilians theyre sending to the front lines
Well... that's 4 minutes of my life I will never get back.
The irony is that the older Su-27 aircraft probably create the least headaches for Russian pilots and groundcrews, meaning that there isn't that difference between the two air forces in terms of operational parity.
thats a great story
You nailed it - Russia has more modern aircraft, but not many of them. So they won't waste them on this conflict.
Bravo to an underrated yet functional and effective Air Force
I suspect they also get abit of help from NATO sigint. Especially the continual drum beat of them along Ukraines border. It can't hurt to know exactly where your enemy is by using resources that can't be knocked out. Couple that with satellite imagery that tracks every movement of your ground forces. Suddenly the odds are more even and you wonder why Russia didn't see all this coming.
this is brilliant.
Imagine if the West would not have been so yellow and instead of 'contemplating action' had taken action and sent modern fighter jets like F35 to the Ukrainians. Or some five thousand SAMs for that matter.
Yes, we'd now be entering a nuclear winter. What's your point?
