The argument that people didn't got its concept maybe applies to some but not for the majority! You can't blame the people for it's underperformance. Remember hollywood was a thing in India during that time as well so people very well knew what good films look like! I still remember (I was in 5th std then) it's trailer was released 1 year prior and during those times it wasn't normal so all were hyped. But when it released it started to go down in collection in just 2-3 days and the reason which idk why people refuse to believe is it's trash 2nd half (except the climax). The movie had major flaws, cringe scenes and underperformed bcoz of that but people are now like "oh god people didn't got that movie and they don't know how to appreciate a good film" and stuff like that🤣
This vfx is still untouchable, proud of SRK and his team 🙌

Such an underrated sci fi/superhero movie for Indian cinema and has many cool and respectful references to Hinduism like G One mentioning Bhagavad Geeta verse or Ganesh Bhagwan at the end of the terrific train scene, teacher calling G One "Monkey Man" while he was jumping and running in train to save Sonia. Also RaOne is defeated by a bullet in the chest like Raavan was defeated by an arrow to the navel during twilight. It was actually ahead of time and a pretty cool reimagining of Ramayana as a futuristic techno thriller. Imagine if Ra One released today when so many VFX movies are being made. "Buraai sang jo mel rachaya phir kabhi na chhoote uska saaya" is a great line. Much better than jalegi tere baap ki, chhaati mein brahmastra, chhaati mein bhagwa dhwaj, bharat ki beti par haath daalna.. "You should be careful what you wish for kid, kyunki ab tumhaare paas ek nahin das hai" 🔥🔥

@@cringekiller348 It didn't flop. It was a clean box office hit and blockbuster in overseas. Check every box office tracking page yourself. Also there was a campaign going on to dethrone SRK. Everyone was making a roast on it. Even Sumeet Raghavan made a roast on it. Everyone from inside and outside the industry wanted SRK to fail. Anubhav Sinha said that. The negativity hurt the word of mouth. Also there were many double meaning adult jokes that people didn't like.

People did not seem to appreciate the special effects in Ra One or Robot, but people tend to forget both of these were made before Avengers
I am a movie fan not a particular actor fan... Srk really brought this movie at the time when people were loving Marvel... Yeah they didn't got the same response as the other movies but they need to do the same thing again but with good VFX cause Bollywood is going through worst VFX period

the only major issue with movie was about using Arc reactor from Iron man and it was already a hit in India then. People easily related that this is plagiarism and then so many heavy references to Hollywood movie. This is why Hindi cinema fails and South cinema excels (not all movie) but comparing with budget, South does a lot better and lot of creativity. Indian cinema lost it to nepotism, copying songs to movies, not treating new actors well etc. Its a touch industry. Even nepo kids dont survive after doing 10-20 movies.

SRK doesn't need to worry about VFX, Red chillies has always been good and have been improving, their work in Zero & Fan are phenomenal. And VFX was never the issue, they just need good script which is well executed.

Not a fan of srk but have to admit this is true.
Now that's the way movies should be watched. The CineDesi team and I have watched so many of the same movies (local and foreign) that we almost always simultaneously know exactly which movie is being referenced... its dialogs, storylines, and action sequences. Good call on Chitti, Andrew... I wasn't expecting that when I first watched this.
Andrew you're absolutely right, many scenes are unabashedly remade from classics. Sort of like a tribute. And Rajnikanth came for his shot when he was really unwell. Apparently he just got out of the hospital and came for his shot. You can tell by the way he looks. He's amazing. This movie could have been made better though.
Wow I did not know that about Rajnikanth while filming his scene. I love that they do visual references or things that remind me of American Films. Lots of people apparently are annoyed I speak on these references which is confusing because that’s what they’re from and I’m just saying how cool it is. I’m glad you appreciate it 😊

IMDb rating of this movie is 4.7!! All reviews from 2011 is negative...and reviews around 2020 all positive ...this movie was ahead of its time for sure...srk true visionary

This movie was way ahead of its time. i watched it in theatres when i was in 8th standard. I remember i was telling the movie story at my hostel and everyone was so intrigued by it.

People didn't appreciate this movie at the time. In 2011, this was the greatest VFX Bollywood every produced. But the film was criticized on so many levels.
Hopefully with films getting worse and worse every year, people will now realise the potential of this film.

How Arc Reactor works????
Well, as you know 2 Isotopes of Hydrogen Deuterium and Tritium placed in the Core (Center) of Arc Circle which Generates Potential Difference/EMF and Heat Energy
Means whatever the Hydrogen Molecules or Particles were in Air, Arc Reactor act as a Magnet to attract it to take this as Input to Generate Output through Iron Man's Mettalic suit.
If you remove the Arc Reactor from Tony's Chest, Tony Stark Will Die.
Now Comes to how HART works????
Full form of HART is Hertz Amplifying, Resonance Transmitter.
Means HART doesn't Work like Arc Reactor, it act as System to Amplify and Increase the Power of Pixels or Frequency (whose SI unit is Hertz) or EM Waves of RA-ONE and G-ONE suits.
Since RA-ONE and G-ONE Suits aren't Actually Real like Tony Stark Mettalic Suit but they are Virtual Pixels in the form solid Cubes.
So, HART Just used to Increase the Power of their Virtual Pixels by Taking the EM Waves or Frequency Waves from the Surrounding World as Input to Amplify their Pixel and Ultimately their Final Output Powers.
But if you Remove the HART from their Chest, Both Character won't die, Since these Characters are not Real but a Virtual Pixel or Frequency hence they will again regenerate.
So those Assholes who are trying to say that Srk had Copied it from Iron Man Arc Reactor.
They are Either Dallal of America or they simply arenot Science Students, Who dont know what actually Plagarism means.

I like this movie when it's release and people now realized. May be that time people think because of having superhero type feeling, they think it's kid movie.. But now peope watching iron man, avenger marvel type movie they liked it that why may now they starting watching indian made movie.. That's why G-ONE said that Survival Rate to Defeat RA-ONE was 0.001 Percent.

They made this movie more sensible than it was back then🥲
So ahead of time. There's a chase scene with Black Panther in MCU's Civil War where characters are running faster than cars. It also reminds me of this one. Electro has a yellow and green costume in comics. But Electro's look in Amazing Spider-Man 2 is very similar to RaOne. Also obviously the MCU's I don't feel so good scene with Peter Parker after the snap reminds of RaOne's ending where G One says NaCl + H2O and says goodbye to Pratik. If you see Big Hero 6, that movie will remind you of Enthiran.

RA- One was waaaaay ahead of it's time. I wanna see those people today who were making fun of this movie back in the days...i bet they regret making fun of RA- ONE after watching Modern VFX movies like Adipurush and Flying Jaat. Bollywood is getting worse with time.
The bad PR criticised this film at that time. I bunke my school to watch it in theatres, I feel in love with this movie so much that I bunked my tuition the very next day, borrowed money from 2-3 friends, made my best friend to come with me, our bycycle were deposited cause we were short of money for the parking fair😅, again borrowed some money from store outside, who didn't know us at all, paid the fair & got the bike back😂 But it was lovely experience ❤
