i love the way you teach ian! been watching for years and will be attending certification this august! you and terri have inspired me so much! these videos are so down to earth ...I am so grateful for all of you teachers!
Ian, I understand the numbering system now. 💯Yay!! ❤The best explanation and demonstration ever!!! 😎 My stylist introduced me to Schwarzkopf. She will be so impressed that I can speak her language the next time I see her. lol... 💃💃👠👠 This is an amazing brand hands down. ✌💋
Hi from Budapest / Hungary, I really like your videos. :) A question: I have dry / coarse hair, almost 100% grey. I don't like the colours of the italian hair dye my new hairdresser uses so I bring the dye myself, and I choose Igora Royal to cover the grey. My original hair was that mousecolour between blond and brown. :) I choose 9-00 but I went dark and reddish (a mix of chestnut and coffee) from it with the 6% developer. With 9% it's lighter, but it does not really cover my grey. And we added 9-10 but my roots are still reddish. I want to reach that mousecolour I had, a kind of ash blonde without ANY redness. (We add golden blonde highlights then anyway.) What colours and what developer should we use in your opinion? Would Absolutes 8-01 work? TIA!
When in doubt swatch it out. We always recommend test strands in a small foil of each formula to see which end result works out best before an all over application. Hope that this helps 💖
Hi I have been using igora 10-3 for my client for years. You no longer make it. I don't want to change color because all of her hair pieces match. Please help. Thx
Hi! Great question. The numbers on the outside of the circle indicates the tone direction. The numbers on the inside of the circle indicates the depth that tone sits in. The closer to the center the tone sits, the darker and deeper it will be. The closer to the outside the color sits, the lighter the tone will be.
Awesome, I been having trouble with mixing and toning but this was amazing ❤❤❤ where I can find a swatchbook I been looking but it seems it is out of stock everywhere :(

Hello there 👋 When using the -00 Natural Extra Series mixed with the 20 or 30 Volume IGORA ROYAL OIL DEVELOPER, 20 Volume is recommended for covering gray white hair that is 90-100%. While the 30 Volume is recommended for hair that is 30-90% gray white hair. Hope that this helps.
Hello there 👋 When you see in the numbering system two of the same number that means it's an intense version of that shade. So the -00 is going to be our Neutral Extra shade that contains 25% more dyestuff inside the tube to help with covering extra resistant gray / white hair 🤍
I’ve been using 10grams of 3-0 and 4-68 for years with a 20 volume, 5:55 but i want to bring my color to a 6-7 range like a ashy sandy tone to help with greys to Blend better, so I’m not constantly having to do my roots like I am with the dark hair. My natural color I would say is between a 4-5. But like I said I want my greys to be covered and blend in better. I’m not a professional hair dresser, so should I do the color correction and then how many shades can I go and should I still use the 20 volume?
Hey there we would recommend reaching out to us on IG @schwarzkopfusa or on FB at Schwarzkopf Professional USA to better help with trouble shooting this issue for you. 🖤
Unfortunately we no longer have that shade in our Absolutes range. We would recommend mixing a combination of 5-50 + 5-80 will get you close to 5-70. Hope this helps.
You can reach out to your local distributor to purchase a swatchbook or you can find them here online at SALONORY. salonory.com/en_US/skp/c/IGORA-ROYAL/p/2798395
Hi there! Depending on what canvas you are working on, any shade with -89 will give you red violet. In IGORA ROYAL, you could 9-98 with D-0 to create a vibrant pink shade. In IGORA Vibrance, on a pre-lightened base, you could use 9.5-89 for a pastel pink.
You can find a Swatchbook inside the USA here at Salonory. salonory.com/en_US/Hair+Color+Swatch+Books/c/Swatch-Books?q=%3Arelevance%3ApsvBrand%3A35428&text=
You said that gray coverage always need a zero . So if you have naturally dark brown hair but now it it bleached blonde with some gray in the roots and currently use 10-12 on lengths but would like a Smokey blonde for some root smudge. What color would you use for root smudge?
Great question! The formula would vary depending on your clients natural level. You can always send us a message at @schwarzkopfusa on IG or Schwarzkopf Professional USA on fB and we'd love to trouble shoot with you. ❤
Hey there great question. The 0-99 may give you a slight purple cast in your color, however the 1-0 is so dark that it may takeover the purple tone. We recommend swatching your formula out first on some test hair to see the results. Hope that helps.

Ian, I wish all of Los Angeles hairstylists would be as knowledgeable as you. ❤ Ian, do you remember pearl? I believe it was a toner and it got my hair that perfect baby clear blonde. Does that still exist in Schwarzkopf? If so, how do you mix pearl in?
Hi there! We believe the toner you are referring to is 9.5-1 (pearl/Cendre/Pastel Blue Violet), our pastel toner designed to be used on Pre-lightened level 9/10 hair.
Hello there thank you for your question. A 7-5 in our color world would be the number in front of the Dash (7) is the level of the shade, and the number after the dash (5) is going to be Gold. here is a little cheat sheet for you with the tone directions -1 Cendre (Blue/Violet) -2 Ash (Blue) -3 Matte (Green) -4 Muted Gold (Beige) -5 Gold -6 Chocolate (Warm Brown) -7 Copper -8 Red -9 Violet
Correct! The 0-88 and other boosters are to add into your IGORA ROYAL OR VIBRANCE Formulas to add more intensity to the shade. You can mix up to 50% of the booster into your formula just always remember to add the equal amount of Developer. Hope that this helps 💜

Hi Ian, Do you recommend using 0-33 with the 4-13 if you want to get rid of the red undertones or is it unnecessary? Thank you kindly:)
When in doubt swatch it out. We always recommend test strands in a small foil of each formula to see which end result works out best before an all over application. Hope that this helps 💖
I literally thought Schwarzkopf was the hardest brand to understand,,, it’s so easy omg
Which number would I use to get a light brown?
Hi Blondme Premium lighters is available to used with developer line igora royal, also the igora vibrante toner with blondme v7 ? thank You
It is not recommened to use IGORA Royal Oil Developers with BLONDME. We always recommend keeping the brands in the same family for the best results. 💖
Schwarzkopf is the best brand
Thanks for watching!
I like the brown, wich one should I buy, I also used 4.1 wich is out of stock can you help me please

Why are some numbers inside the circle and some along the edge on the color wheel ?

Is Igoral Royal 9-00 be used with 30 volume developer to cover 100 percent grey?

What is the 00 stand for ? For 100% grey coverage do we need a zero or double zero, if the base shade is 5
