What a great presentation, thanks John.
Glad you enjoyed it
Thank you for shearing all your great knowledge with us!! I truly appreciate it
I'm glad anything I do can help.
Another fantastic showcase/comparison. I would be ecstatic with either of these solutions. Excellent coverage of the devices John!
Thank you and I agree.
Waiting kinda patiently for my SuperTrickler. Thanks for the video John.
You bet
Waiting on my SuperTrickler to be delivered! Thanks for the video :)
Glad you liked it.
I’ve been using an RCBS for a long time. I load several rounds and use several powders. The Autotrickler just didn’t seem to be for me. After doing my research in the differences between the two, I agree with your assessment. I have a SuperTrickler on order that should be delivered Q1 2023.
Thanks for the info john
Hi John, nice intro with the tricklers. To keep and up date needed information (reloading, targets, shooting, rifle builds) I use OneNote all on my iPad and in one place and added benefit it all gets backed up to the cloud.
Good idea. There's a new app that'll be coming to the market soon that actually is designed for shooters of all disciplines to track all that and it's pretty cool. I've been on the beta testing for it and will do a video once it's live.
I own 2 auto trickle V4’s and 1 V3. I’m not sure I want to deal with the disks the IGW needs yes I’m sure they work well but just seems like a lot of parts to juggle to tune with.
Never tried the Super trickler but looks like a nice clean design.
On the super trickle it doesn’t appear that an Area 419 powder pan can be used due to clearance issues. Having 3 those at $70/419 pan that’s to bad bc they are nice.
Make each pan weight the same and you switch instantly and keep powder poring. Super fast
Cool, maybe if folks go the supertrickler route, I may FINALLY be able to get a v4.
I really felt bad when I canceled my v4 order. With that said I'm very excited to get mine (hopefully early December). I thought I was taking a page out of the F-class john play book, I went and grabbed a 3"-1 1/2" sch40 coupling and a short piece of 1 1/2" pipe to make a white funnel.
Thanks for the review. I've been trying to get all the info I can about this thing!
Hope you enjoy it!
Dont feel bad. I am replacing my v4 with a supertrickler. The V4 is junk.
... recommendation... as they looking at expanding the functionality... with total system expansion, how about adding a bluetooth port, and then providing a computer/laptop based program to interface with the unit/system,
def dream of ordering one.
I had a FB conversation going with Rex on his FB group and it really did not go well, a guy was wanting info on how to set up the machine and he was not providing it. He was just showing how awesome his machine worked and when pressed to get some info he just started being sarcastic and then started deleting people and the post where people were asking for more info. I would not touch the machine because of his attitude alone.
Thank you for doing this. It helps a lot. I was on the brink of buying a V4 but now I think the super trickler is a better option for me.
How is that when the trickler F class john is using is not a v4. That would be a good assessment v4 vs super trickler then i would make that decision. Remember apples to apples my opinion
@@JimC-ik6pu I think he's piecing together info not just from this video but several. @fclassjohn has shown the v3 with injinuity vs the v4 and the v3 with injinuity is faster. The v4 is easier to change powder/charges. This supertrickler appears to be faster then both the autotricklers and is as adaptable as the v4 if not more adaptable. At least that's what I'm gathering.
Yep and I'm working on a v4 vs. SuperTrickler video. I just don't use a v4 so the first assessment for me was the ST vs. my v3 since that's my go to system.
GREAT VIDEO
Glad you enjoyed it
Great overview.
Thank you
So John i have the V3 with the old trickle it works find been on the fence about the Ingenuity Precision Powder Measure or go for the SuperTrickler by the time you invest in the ingenuity for a little more money you could buy a SuperTrickler. And I forgot to mention was going to buy the area 409 accessories for V3 so probably have that much in one?
Great review John. I saw a short review on XYZ channel that made the SuperTrickler look useless. It's nice to see a review with a lot more practical use, and comparison. Well done.
I contacted SuperTrickler and they were not exactly customer friendly. All I wanted to know was the estimated tax for import to US. I'm not sure how they can sell a product, charge the tax, remand the tax to the taxing authority, and not know what the amount is?? *shrug
I can't speak for them and I'm not affiliated with them but I do know that them and other European manufacturers face some assorted taxes and regulations to get products out of the EU. As a small company I'm sure it's tough for any of them to figure it all out sometimes. But either way, it sounds like the communication could've been better.
It would have been nice to see a comparison of the V4 vs. ST.
I recently got my V4. The extra $185 for the ST was a factor in my decision.
I'll have that comparison coming this weekend.
I'm keeping my V4 Autotrickler. It's a work of genius :-)
Nothing wrong with that. Like I said, any of the systems are great and one or the other is gong to fit your application and need the best. Glad you found it.
except it doesnt work half the time
@@nvlaser9084 ? Can you elaborate on that comment?
@@kurthunter2427 Like I said, the AV4 does not work half the time. Its a known issue Adam refuses to address.
@@nvlaser9084 my v4 has been working fine for the 7 months I have had it
One thing that I would like to see on each of these is literally starting from scratch with a new powder and load. Say for example 24.3 grains of Varget, what is the tip to tail setup?
From what it sounds like the super trickler you can save a bunch of different loads and powders so you just recall what your load is and go to town (I think).
I'm definitely using lots of different powders so set up is a key thing for me.
My follow up videos will be exactly that...
The auto trickle v4 has a powder calibration mode that works well. You use the app to set that up. Takes about 1 min
And then the next time with the autotrickler you do the calibration again and then the next time with the auto tickler in the same powder you do it again and then the next time with the auto tickler in the same powder you do it again and again and again and again because you can’t save it
@@scottaberegg1167 you can manually set it as well. Even when I used the same powder settings it often needs recalibrated bc of humidity levels changing. Those kernels just seem to drop different in summer and winter months from my observations.
Probably depends on climate you live in 🤷♂️ we get pretty dry in my state in the winter months
noob question, see you holding what looks like the top 1/2 in your hand, the 2nd unit you have there.
how does the entire setup fit together, is it multiple components each with separate part numbers/to be ordered ?
Thanks
Glad you liked it.
I followed the FB page for it for a while, then a warranty question came up where he said if bought direct, he'd cover frt both ways. When asked if he covered frt from a dealer back to him, he would not answer it, I stopped following it right then and there, as he would not indicate support to a customer thru a dealer and answer the question. He basically left the impression that frt on a unit bought thru a dealer would be cust pay to return warranty items to the mfgr, he didn't catch on to the concept. He basically shot his dealers in the foot.
The SuperTrickler is Manufactured in Denmark and sold from Denmark, so I have to follow the rules for Danish stores/webhops.
A buyer shall deliver a defective product to the store/webshop from where he have bought it.
It's made to protect the buyer to be asked to ship the defective product to other countries etc.
It's exactly the same way if I order a Hornady product here in Denmark.
I can't get a free shipping label from Hornady to return it to USA.
I have had the biggest reloading store in Denmark, and as you probably know, 99% of the products comes from USA.
Not a single brand offer the customers to ship it back to USA with a paid shipping label.
To the whole speed vs accuracy and wanting both, there is saying that is typically used in manufacturing but it applied to many other things too and here is one of those "many other things". That saying is QTC, Quality Time Cost, pick which two you want because its impossible to have all 3... Now just substitute "Accuracy" for "Quality" and substitute "Speed" for "Time" thus being ASC (Accuracy, Speed, Cost) and again, pick which two you want because its impossible to have all 3.
Here's your 3 options,
1) Desire Accuracy and Reasonable Cost?
Buy one scale and trickler setup and tune it to be accurate with every charge and sacrifice the Speed to achieve the other two desires.
2) Desire Speed and Reasonable Cost?
Buy one scale and trickler setup and tune it to be as fast as possible and sacrifice the Accuracy aspect to achieve the other two desires.
3) Desire Accuracy and Speed?
Buy 2, 3, 4, or however many scales and trickler setups and tune them each to be accurate with every charge and run them simultaneously to get your speed and sacrifice cost to achieve the other two desires
You could even apply the age old saying in racing, "speed costs money... how fast do you want to go and how fast can you afford to go?"
Wish I could afford one of these units
Not seeing the amount of powder in the hopper seems to be a drawback, but, if it runs out of powder the light doesn’t go green. So, no biggie, right? Does it give a message to add powder?
Great question and I'm not sure, I'll run it down and see.
Great side by side. What kind of aluminum cup are you using there? 🤔
It's just one that a buddy made me on his CNC.
Got it. Looks like Area 419. I just ordered one. Thnx.
Only thing that bothers me about having to use an app is what apple has done in the past with the sierra loading manual, hornady manual, and some other shooting related apps.
What did apple do to those apps?
I like the Super Trickler but i hate the way you empty the powder hopper. You have to empty the RCBS MatchMaster the same way. Like being able to pull the hopper and empty it, much easier and cleaner.
I don’t totally disagree, but I have gotten used to it already. It’s just one of the trade-offs that comes with the design I suppose.
@@FClassJohn i know its like a marriage.....give and take.😊
Hey John, have you went back and forth between the Autotrickler and supertrickler on the same scale? I recently set my v3 back up (had been using supertrickler) and I'm getting an error code that the scale isn't connecting to trickler. I went through the Autotrickler manual and reprogrammed what it needed.
Yeah I've done that a bunch. The key is not just reprogramming but resetting the scale anytime you change before you do new programming. Go to page 37 of the fx120 manual and you'll see how to do that. Should fix your problem.
@@FClassJohnpage 37 is in a different language for me.
@@PracticallySquared1 try this one aandd.jp/products/manual/balances/fz_fx-i.pdf
@@FClassJohnso I want to do the steps in 9.2 every time I switch from supertrickler to autotrickler?
@@PracticallySquared1 yes
Compare the super trickler against the autotrickler v4
It's coming...
John… who’s the contact for ordering the supertrickler?
supertrickler.com.au
Super trickler really seems like a game changer
Why did you compare it to the V3 Auto trickler rather than the V4? Your loading video's seem to show that your V3 is your preferred option over the V4?
Correct. Like I said in the video, for my particular needs the V3 and IP Trickler have fit my needs. If I loaded a lot of different cartridges and used a lot of different powders then I'd use the V4. Both great units, just different.
I should also say that I will have a video this weekend comparing the SuperTrickelr and V4 so don't worry, that's coming too.
what is the charge tolerance of a 'good' charge for SuperTrickler? For AutoTrickler is 0.02gr
Exact same
Like Tim said below, same. The scale's top tolerance is .02gr so that's the best that any system can achieve on it. FWIW, a kernel of most mid-range rifle powders weighs about .02gr so realistically both systems are capable of being accurate to on kernel of powder.
too bad you didn't compare it with the V4 autotrickler. It does a great job of profiling powder rates and only takes 15 seconds at the start.
That video is coming up today or tomorrow.
If you were going to buy one today which would you purchase. I already have the scale.
Both work great. If you're someone who doesn't love technology and just wants something simple that works get the AutoTrickler. If you want something that allows for a lot of tweaking for each powder, is technology laden and has a potential auto case-filling system then go SuperTrickler.
@@FClassJohn Thank you very much for the reply. I can't tell you how much I enjoy and learn from your videos and I have been shooting and reloading for almost 60 years. Started reloading when I was 12. ( a long time ago!)
What pans do you use?
On the SuperTrickler I'm using the pans they provide. On the AutoTrickler I have a custom pan but if you're looking for one I'd get the Area419 pan.
So if somebody’s reloading for multiple calipers with multiple different styles of powder the Supertrickler would be the way to go
100% Yes
@@timclark5769 in that case I have a brand new V3 for sale
@@morrow275 how much?
@@StuninRub it’s band new and has never been used. Make a offer.
@@morrow275 Do you have pictures? I'm thinking $400 based off of current accurate shooter prices.
Is area 419 making this yet?
As I understand it, that deal fell through. Marketing is direct rather than having Area 419 as an importer.
Thanks.
@@johntaylor1280 no problem.
I thought you had a v4? What happened
The v3 and the Ingenuity Precision was just a better solution for my particular needs. The V4 is still a great unit but better geared for people loading multiple cartridges and powders.
@@FClassJohn seems like the supertrickler is the best of both worlds. As fast a a v3 with injinuity and as adaptable and versatile as a v4.
I just find it so bewildering that Adam doesnt just write the software for the app to save presets for different powders so you can quickly select the correct calibrations. It would literally take a software engineer a few hours to add that functionality. With the anount of time to wait for the units to ne produced and the demand being so high, I just do not get why such a simple feature hasnt been implemented yet. Why would you not focus on such a simple feature to get on par with the competition.
I will keep my V4..
If you're gonna go all in get the Prometheus..lol
Both are nic3
How much are they?
I think they’re $675 right now. supertrickler.com.au/shop/
You can piece together an AutoTrickler for under 200 if your handy. them selling the “upgrade board” for $60 is a god send for cheapskates like me..
695 plus scale
Well mine perfers 2 fingers, js
Man, I knew I should not have looked at the price....... 😵💫
Next time just order. 😂
@3:50, you said Android and Apple, what about blackberry and palm pilot............... Nah just kidding

@@FClassJohn thanks for the video, I was curious about the super trickler. Very cool tool.
