I’m still confused in all your videos why you jump up a guard? You shaved everything with the grain with a 1.5 closed, started the taper and then jumped up to a 2 guard open to deBulk the hair and then gradually brought the brought 2 guard from open to close. But if you went over the area with a 1.5 close, that’s already too short for the 2 guard especially open. So isn’t that just a wasted step? Or does the 2 guard work because you’re going against the grain vs with the 1.5 you went with the grain so the 2 was still able to cut? Or do you only do this on this type of hair?

Flat..If you feel like you might pitch the line up at that point you would want to start to tilt the clipper and only detail
