I feel like none of your videos are teaching me anything but I'm too mesmerized to stop watching them.
Well he certainly left us pining for more, and I wish the camera angle showed what he did, his fingers hid it. His studio is to die for, no cats in sight to "play" with the pens and knock them all down. I enjoyed this flourishing video very much, very inspiring.
I love how effortlessly he makes the flourishes
The video is very informative. I could have liked it if only it was taken with the right angle. I wasn't able to see the tutorial properly. Maybe you can do something about that in the future.
Why did this video just soothe my soul? ....
Your handwriting is like a beautiful poem or song! ...and I love the sound of the pen on the paper!
I love the sound of the pen on the paper.
This is definitely becoming a lost art. With computers and smart phones, writing by hand is becoming obsolete. It's nice to know that someone is keeping this art alive.
if this guy wrote graffiti he would have the sickest handstyle
They wouldn't even put him in jail. They'd actually thank him for increasing the property value of the area.
Never knew you had a channel before the other one if I knew I would've subscribed and nice work like always
Beautiful work my friend! Truly an art, and you have demonstrated quite clearly that you are a master at it! Well done!!
I do caligraphy but his handwriting is gorgeous
Very interesting and informative.. I use manuscript fountain pens my self. I enjoyed the videos and a became a fan 😊
The work you do is outstanding. The question I have for you is this how come you do not join the other 12 MASTER PENMEN
you are a maestro. thanks.
Saya sangat mengagumi hasil karya anda,,,
wow! i can not believe you, a HUMAN, wrote that. AMAZING
I love that sound .
I love that scratching noise!!!
Thanks! Would have been nice if you had made a final shot of the finished work so we could what you had done.
Wonderfull! I love that video, I am so happy because I have founded your chanell! Thank you by post this video.
would like to see more of what you did... the camera angles are really bad so you aren't really teaching anything at all.
I love his work
very nice, can you use the tools to pick up glue instead of ink so that the calligraphy can be glittered??
Excellent video!
So clever and beautiful xx
A great lesson idea but couldn't see the technique because your hand blocked most of the instructions. Also, I'm learning that you (the universal you) actually create your own flourishes. However, instruction on basics rules would be great. Thanks for sharing!
Realmente magnífico.
fabulous !!!!
Several people have asked what was the name of the paper. I think I herd Jeff Smith, I'm not sure, but the rest I can't understand.
He's like the Bob Ross of calligraphy (less crazy) you can watch him all day and still never be able to do any of it.
Where did you get the wonderful stands for your pens?
An art ! I love it !!!
I like your videos!
What is the paper you mentioned again? And where can we find it please?
Could you please tell me which paper you use Paul for practicing? For making your final artwork which paper do you use? Could you also tell me the weight of the paper? (gsm)
fantastic
This is great asmr
Thank you so much!
PS. I love all your videos!
exelente donde puedo encontrar esa plumas caligrafas
Practice, Practice, Practice...
Dose t really help cause his hand is in front of the paper 90% of the time
what kind of paper did you say you were using? Where could one obtain it.
This is a very nice video. Thanks for sharing.
I have been practicing copperplate for a year now. Just had a question; i can do the line variation on the vertical nib stroke, but i am having trouble changing the nib orientation like you did to do a broad horizontal line for the g. I am a leftist, does this make any difference? or makes it harder to do it coz i am left handed?
i am using:
- gillott 303, and a few other flex nibs.
- Pelikan 4001 black ink (any other suggestions?)
Thanks a lot
You're amazing, thank you.
I have a fabulous calligraphy pen set, but the nibs cut into the paper causing the ink to bleed into the fibers. I could hear the nib on the paper in this video, but didn't see the ink bleeding. Could you please explain how to avoid the ink bleed with a cutting nib? I don't use my set because of this problem. Please kindly advise. Thank you!
Did you try another kind of paper? I think it works best with coated paper.
while i'm not an expert in calligraphy, bleeding or "feathering" of ink as some call it is a function of the paper. cheap binder/folder paper will always feather, even with non calligraphy pointed nibs, simple because its full of loose fibers. The paper he uses in this video s of a much higher quality, i didn't hear the name he said, but he does mention it. You can tell by how thick a single sheet is, while thickness doesn't guarantee good quality paper, generally speaking good quality paper is on the thicker side.
i personally use clairfontaine paper, it gives a different feel, it is smooth and gives almost no feed back, to some this is preferable while to others this isn't. the same with regular nibs, some ppl love butter smooth nibs and some like nibs with feed back as they write. I find clairfontaine works well with nibs that aren't sharp, because if you scratch the smooth sheen surface, the ink will bleed a bit, but so long as your nib is smooth your writing should be fine.
also in some cases "feathering" can be a function of ink as well, some inks tend to be more water or viscous, but i find paper quality plays a bigger part, while ink plays more of a part in how wet of a calligraphy you write. Obviously generally speaking a dry writing pen usually doesn't require as thick of a paper.
Thanks for your replies. I don't think it's the best since the problem is the same regardless of what weight or quality paper I have used. I use only cotton or linen bond and buy the high end premium product. A professional calligrapher recently told me about an emery cloth that you can use to gently "file" the edges of the nibs. Although I've never heard of an emery cloth, the concept makes great sense. Thanks for your input!
It's beautiful!
"His career as a model and voice actor didn't quite pan out, so he moved on to the most obvious choice... hand lettering."
What is the name of the pen being used?
January 2, 2020
Interesting to watch. Unfortunately your left hand covered what you were doing. While it is understandable that you must turn your paper to accomplish some strokes, it becomes unreadable to the viewer. May I suggest a different camera angle or better still, adding at least 1 more camera and editing your video into one. This would facilitate the viewer's observation of your pen movement.
What was the name of the paper? I couldn't really hear too well
Bob Ross is amazing! Rest his soul.
Now where can one acquire those pen stands you have Sir???
omg thats talent
Great! It's a pity the final work couldn't be seen more clearly
This guy is like the Bob Ross of calligraphy
I want to have set with your writing
I wish I could do that D;
You spin me around'& around& around & AROUND! !!!! Damn it Man, your side job should be D'Jing''
I wish my handwriting would look like this.
Does he offer Videos?
ASMR worthy, indeed :p
Colorplan by GF Smith, Google it! :)
Song name?
You seem to be very talented, however, it is not captured on video. I find your other hand in the way most of the time, or the camera is pulled back to far to show details when it is focused on the lettering. I suggest moving the camera to directly in front of you focused onto the paper at all times. It is really a shame that we cannot see how you are making the nib move.
Can I go learn with you, please?
Beautiful. But... Your camera guy keeps obscuring the technique.
He reminds me of Jafar from Aladdin
I feel like every time he says "Paul Antonio" he sounds like James Bond
Did anyone else watch this just to hear his voice?
Being insulting by calling something 'ugly' / 'stupid' is your right, it's just not very ethical or appropriate.
Nice work. But just a show. No teaching.
Are you self-taught? Did you go to school for this?
how can i be a master scribe
i want to see his doodles
good old copper plate
this video looks more like, look I can do flourishing, than, learn how to do flourish
And my art teacher got mad at me when I turned my paper around while drawing or writing...
Wat on earth how does he.. I just cant.

May be she belong to the conservative generation, so they can't accept broke this tiny art rules, but sometimes this makes the diference, the good one.
Cameraman wasn't really giving shit
Handwritten resume, $900...
CAMERA MAN, will you stop zooming in and out.
He's a fake. He isn't writing with his wrist, but with his fingers! A meer Amateur.
he has his own channel and he has a video where he did calligraphy on a giant window. His work speaks for itself. How can he be a fake? Is he not really doing this? Is this CGI? I don't think a fake would have their own studio, website, and business.
I know I was trolling.
KingParagon oh...
You are trolling? You seem like a meer amateur
