Great video- I'm very glat you're taking the time to show us all this; there's a lot of info out there about the European middle ages already so I'm always glad to learn a bit more about the period in the Arab world. And Ramadan Kareem 😄
I recently did a DNA test and found that I was mostly Arabic. It is interesting because my grandparents came from Sicily to the USA. As a result, I have become very interested in this history. Sometime you should do a video on Arabic people in the Mediterranean area. Great channel! Keep up the good work.
it's nice to know that middle eastern commoners are similar to far eastern, mesoamerican, pacific, and african commoners in terms of having similar dishes (by majority, that is) with the upper class instead of having a complete different set of diet dictated by social status. The only differences is the quality of the ingredients in which the upper classes gets the best ones, as usual.

Arabs are not exclusive to Arabia, you know? Plus, Arabs were pioneers in trade, linking the East and the West. Moreover, it's most likely Arabs who re-discovered the Americas way before Europeans did.
There aren’t nearly enough sources of information about the medieval Islamic world!! Keep up the good work!.

Awamah is called by many things: luqaimat (morsels) kaimat (another way of saying luqaimat), mushmush maqli (fried apricot), and zalabia.

ramadan mubarak brother another great video
Ramadan kareem, thank you
This was a good video but I think there might be a bit of an oversite at 7:22. Tomatoes are a new world food that wasn't in Eurasia until much later.
Loving your channel brother
Another fantastic, well-informed video.
Thank you.
Please keep them going
Thanks, will do!

I've just subscribed to you brother. Bismallah
I have a question how many hours did Arab peasants work in Medieval times?
In Europe, peasants had a shitty life too. And few options.
In all the earth my friends the peasants life never been easy life
@@johnsantini3382 absolutely right but the difficulty and facilities varied from region to region.

Did tomatoes exist in the Middle East before the discovery of the Americas ?
Nope
not gonna have tomatoes in medieval arabia.
Arabs are not exclusive to Arabia, you know? Plus, Arabs were pioneers in trade, linking the East and the West.
