I don't know if you caught the end of my latest video - I show a preview of one of the FCC' slurping with it's little trunk. I'll show the whole encounter this Sunday. I just love them too!
This is one of my older videos. My husband still goes barefoot but I have had enough foot injuries to now always wear foot protection when I go to the beach 😃
Love all of your finds today! My favorite of the day is a tie between Apple Murex and Live Sea Urchin! 💙🐚 Enjoyed all the beachy goodness though! I can't resist hardly any of them! 🤦🤷 💙🐚
i guess Im randomly asking but does someone know a trick to log back into an Instagram account?? I stupidly forgot my account password. I would love any tips you can offer me!
@Abel Wesson I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site on google and I'm in the hacking process atm. Seems to take quite some time so I will get back to you later with my results.
Great haul. Congrats on another albino. And darn those shells that look good from one side but trick us. Major disappointment. The colors on that welk were so nice.
@@SWFBeachLife I would be afraid to use the acid. I used to clean my mom's pool and that stuff is nasty. I also know you only put the shells in for very few seconds or you could dissolve the shells.
Hello and I love your videos. Would u show us what you do with all your shells mthankyou for taking the time to enjoy the wonderful ocean sounds with you
At the end of this video you can see what I did with my scallops. ua-cam.com/video/MMkynhuI_1w/v-deo.html I have an olive jar and another jar with miscellaneous shells. I'll include a quick shot with one of my upcoming videos :)
Wow, you have alot of amazing shells on the beaches. I hope some day to get to an ocean beach. I would have so much fun. The beach grapes are neat. Can't wait to see what happens with the acid dip. I really enjoy your videos!
Wyoming Adventures Thank you so much for the kind comment! I’ve always loved the beach and now even more so. There is always something to find, explore, check out - I love it down here!
The sea grapes are edible, however they are also protected. All the salt tolerant trees and bushes are protected here in Florida, so while they are edible - we're not allowed to eat them ☺️
All living sand dollars are a dark purple color. They also have spines on their bottom side which they use to move. Once they die, they start losing their spines and they start fading to white. Some dead sand dollars are still dark because they haven’t been bleached by the sun yet. I made a whole video about them which hopefully will explain it better: ua-cam.com/video/K9H0EjZQsqs/v-deo.html
@@SWFBeachLife oh wow.. ok... Interesting... Good to know... onces is dead, time will make them change color..Thank You So Much. I DO APRECIATE YOUR TIME TEACHING US ANS SHOWING US HOE BEAUTIFUL FL AND LIFE CAN BE, WITHOUT SPENDING LOTS OF MONEY TO HAVE FUN..BLESSINGS ❤🥰😇🙏🙌💖
I really enjoy your vids! With things easing up a bit I will probably be down to Sanibel in late June 😃 and I’m looking forward to that! Anyways, I’ve done the acid dip and it really helps taking off the yucky stuff. I’ve learned to change out the rinse water frequently so the shells get a really good final rinse. I don’t dip the shells that are shiny (olives, sun-ray Venus, shark eyes). I was nervous also so I tried my not so perfect shells first to get an idea of what I was doing lol Anyways, I’m super jelly of the crown conch finds! I’ve only found the tippy top piece on Sanibel in January and I was so happy! One of theses days lol
Well I hope you find goodies when you're down here in June! I have heard I shouldn't dip the shiny shells so my olives will not see any acid! Luckily I have plenty of shells to kind of test things out with. I'm wondering if it will wreck the shine on my Florida Fighting Conch. I guess there's only one way to find out! I'm hoping the crown conchs we have and maybe some murex will clean up nice. I'll find out soon enough! I don't think I've ever found a crowned conch on Sanibel, but lots of the lightning whelk and the tulips. And even when I don't find "good stuff" I'm always happy just to be at the beach!
SWF Beach Life I’ve dipped fighting conchs and as long as it’s a quick dip to take off that white film, they seem to come out good. Mineral oil seems to help after dipping too. I’m going to explore Bunche beach when I get down there cause it looks interesting from the vids I’ve seen 🙂
Yes - I'll give a quick description about equipment and how I mix the acid and then we'll dip! I've done this once before and the results were amazing! ua-cam.com/video/mx47mh0Ogl8/v-deo.html
The scallop you have a question about is a Bay Scallop and they come in only those colors but different patterns. I love finding those, they are so lovely. I've wondered about the acid dip for shells too, but they say don't dip if you want to keep the shine, or don't dip if they have any holes. I think I get too nervous. Let us know how it goes?
That one Bay Scallop is a beauty, but I really want to see what the acid does. I've been putting off messing around with acid, but I'm so curious to see how the shells turn out. I will keep you updated!
Love the albino lightning whelk! I have yet to find one in my hunting grounds (Honeymoon Island State Park near Tampa). Gotta love what the storms bring in!
TeacherTeacher If the shell still has some shine and texture left you can tell it’s not bleached and worn down by the beach and sun. It’s probably hard to see onscreen but it’s easier to see when you’re actually holding the shell. ☺️
I know the fighting conchs are everywhere, but I always catch my breath the 1st time I find one each time I'm in SW Florida. This time I only took a conch that had a pretty purple lip and was a rich brown. So satisfying to hold though!
Andrea H. Those were my first favorite shells! My husband doesn’t even pick them up anymore but I’m obsessed - I almost always come home with a few. I love the really light colored ones and hope to find another live guy at some point. I’ve only found a few live ones which is crazy considering how many shells are out there!
Hello from Denver, Colorado! I love watching your videos. My favorite thing to do when we vacation at St. Pete Beach is look for shells. The first time I went to FL I found a Fl. Fighting Conch, it was alive and I thought a squid had found a home in it. I had no idea that shells were actually alive until I went to FL and my boyfriend had to explain to me that the animal in there was actually the conch, I always thought anything in a shell had found a home in it, like hermit crabs, haha! Lol, guess that’s what happens when you don’t grow up by an ocean 😜.
Hello Denver! Believe me - I have learned a ton since moving down here and encountering crabs and snails and critters! Sand dollars are another fascinating creature that I had never seen alive until I moved here. I have to say the best shells I find are ones that are still alive and I can't take them but finding them are fun anyways :)
Very very very good video and Beautiful collection. Really awesome I love seashells I'm SO enjoyed. I'm waiting u re next beautiful video Take care byyyyy🧕🧕🧕🧕👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
My favorite shell definitely has to be a fighting conch!! Although I have never gotten one, I would love to get as many as I saw in the video today! Amazing video 😊
The great thing about the fighting conchs is you can almost ALWAYS find them. They were the first shell I fell in love with down here and now I have so many favorites. Thank you for the awesome comment!
Wow, that really spiky entirely complete both-halves spiny jewelbox!!!! Gorgeous!
Oh I LOVE those spikes!!! Thanks for watching!
Beautiful shells
I'm a sucker for the FL Fighting Conchs too; I Love it when they come out swinging! 😃

Good shells
Hello from Canada. Enjoy watching. So relaxing. Very educational as well. How can your husband walk barefoot amongst all those sharp prickly shells.
This is one of my older videos. My husband still goes barefoot but I have had enough foot injuries to now always wear foot protection when I go to the beach 😃
I love watching your videos. Everytime I see another shell I have to try and find this summer.
