When the guy being paid to tear down the houses is upset at the waste, the waste is huge. Habitat for humanity could definitely have founds use for most of those windows, much of the siding, and probably a lot of the stuff interior like cabinets, doors, and some wood flooring materials.
I just don't see any need to tear down the homes at all. They have some issues but I have to think it could be addressed for a lot less then starting over.

It may cost much more to move a house than to tear it down, throw away everything involved, and build another structure in the new location. - Most houses that get moved are older, historical, and/or owned by people who have enough attachment to the house to put forth the expenditures.

Reminds me of something that happened in my home town. They demolished an entire block of OLD stores and stuff downtown, to build some new building... it stayed as a fenced off grass covered lot for at least 3-5 years (no one could get in, since it was fenced off, so it didn't even get to be used as a small park), spent several more years as a giant hole in the ground, and has been under actual construction for over 5 years. This has been going on for WELL over a decade. It's just been an eye sore for more than half of that time, and will be when it's done too. It's ruined the view from the 5-6 story library across the street (not that the view is important or very valuable, but it does add insult to injury). They ran out of money part way through, and it's not the first time it happened with the exact same people in charge.

I hope there's an update to this story furthermore why the hell can they move the houses literally to better locations because Riley is I see them Jack houses up and physically move the building and then send somebody in to repair what needs to be fixed for two or three of the houses together and then turned into Apartments three levels boom you can have apartment on each level why not what a freaking wife I live in a damn junkyard of a 1981 Journey model that's falling apart that's all I can afford rent the lot is 400 and I'm 100% disabled I would have killed for one of them houses be here in Tennessee where I live

Wow thts awful we have so many homeless people in our country. Those homes could have been donated to the homeless or section 8 anything besides tearing it down . We have so many homeless people out here today and they’re just tearing down almost brand new homes like it ain’t nothing that’s sick.
