    Within the span of an hour I went from overwhelming joy with Cal and Merrin to wiping away tears after Cere’s death. This is without question one of the most painful and destructive betrayals in all of Star Wars history. As soon as Bode brought up the idea that maybe he and the crew go to Tanalorr alone first I knew something was up. Because that sounded like he was racing against a clock. And while I understand that he did everything for his daughter, it’s still unforgivable what he did to Cordova.
    This is *almost* worse than what Joel did at the end of The Last Of Us.
    As for Cere, I absolutely loved playing as her. And I freaking cried my eyes out at her death scene. I like Cal didn’t know how I felt about Cere until the end of Fallen Order, but now after finishing Survivor Cere Junda is one of my all time favorite Jedi! Her fight scene with Darth Vader was both one of the greatest boss fights I have ever seen in my life and one of the most emotionally powerful duels in all of Star Wars.
    Debra Wilson should get a Game Award nomination for this role.

    • @nicholaspeters9919
      @nicholaspeters9919 Рік тому +5

      I think what made the betrayal hit so hard for me, even if I unfortunately got it spoiled, was just how unnecessary it was. Bode let himself get so blinded by his (admittedly understandable) fear for his daughter’s well-being (likely Force sensitive kid growing up during the Empire and all that) and the trauma of loosing his wife that he didn’t realize he had a potential new family right in front of him.
      Or maybe he did but figured the risk was too great, either way it’s tragic that he chose this path.

    • @mattboy5296
      @mattboy5296 Рік тому +3

      @Nicholas Peters I think that while he was originally sent as a mole for the ISB, when Cal and the gang first learn of Tanalore, Bode actually does want to help them. He legitimately was on their side after that and only fulfills his original assignment and betrays them when Cal changes his mind on what they should use Tanalore for.

    • @thedarkknight2221
      @thedarkknight2221 Рік тому +3

      @@mattboy5296 yes, and he let his fear for his daughters safety control him. He was so afraid that the crew wouldn’t forgive what he had done AND he was afraid that by setting up the Hidden Path on Tanalorr that the Empire would somehow, inevitably find their way their and destroy them.
      Like Anakin he let his fear turn his love and concern for the well-being of Kata into both a fortress and a prison. He would rather have Kata be alone with him on an abandoned planet for the rest of their lives than risk reaching out to others.

    • @mattboy5296
      @mattboy5296 Рік тому +3

      @@thedarkknight2221 Exactly. And it's so unfortunate because you can tell Bode was decent man underneath it all and just wanted to be a good father. But he also became a monster because of that fear. The age old adage was proven right yet again. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering.

    • @thermicterror2951
      @thermicterror2951 Рік тому +4

      This is significantly worse than what joel did. Joel did what he did because he didn't want ellie to die. Bode murders cordova and causes the death of cere and countless others all because he's afraid the hidden path might lead the empire to tanalore

  • @Lady_Vengeance
    @Lady_Vengeance Рік тому +6

    You are 100% right that Vader likes to toy with his prey. He does the same thing in his initial battles with Luke in the OG trilogy.
    You were doing great in the Vader fight dodging his moves but you just need to be a bit more aggressive to constantly be taking his block meter down and not let it replenish so much. It allows you to get a lot of more damage and staggers a lot more quickly. Attack twice, block his attacks, dodge his unblockable, attack him again until he blocks you, repeat. You have his moves down well!
    Also I can think of few things more badass than fighting a flaming Darth Vader. Just such an excellent choice by the game designers, as a visual metaphor for Cere’s strength, that she was able to damage him, but also as a terrifying reminder of Vader’s power as he shakes that off and continues the fight covered in embers.

    For those wondering about the seeming randomness of the Trilla name-drop, it's safe to assume that one of two things is happening there.
    Either Cere was simply calling out to her padawan (Trilla) and apprentice (Cal) in her dying moments (much like some dying people call out their loved ones IRL), or she was literally seeing Trilla as she returned to the Force, given how Trilla was redeemed at the last minute before Vader smoked her too in Fallen Order.
    This may just be some fan theory nonsense, but it's what is most likely happening based on what I could observe and deduce.

      Theres a convo between Cal and Cere that can happen. TLDR of the convo: Cal asks Cere how her connection to the force is, Cere responds saying its shaky, but slowly improving. That she still struggles with the dark side, but whenever those thoughts comes ups, she thinks about Trilla and Cal, and that generally centers herself.
      My thought is that in her last moments, which rightfully should be full of rage and despair of betrayal, are counted with the thought of Cal and Trilla, allowing her to let go of the darkside once and for all before passing.

      Vader trained the inquisitors but kept them weak enough because Palpatine didn’t want the threat of Vader and the inquisitors turning on him and actually killing him. They weren’t just assassins, but that was a big part of their job. Another was hunting/tracking (not just Jedi, but rebels too), capture, and kidnapping force sensitive babies. To be fair on Reeva, the inquisitors all basically hated each other, with only a few exceptions.
