Hi Madsch, I've a very grid friend here in Ireland with 1 of these tractors Steyr 188 and not for the life of him can he get it to run. By any chance do you have a manual with the timing marks on in it. The engine was stripped when he got it. He put it back together as best he can but it will only run on 1 cylinder and if he moves the timing it stops on that cylinder and fires on no 2 then
Madsch1 Thank you. He isn't very good with the internet. I'm now thinking after looking about for a start he's out by 180 degrees somehow. And he thinks Cylinder no 1 is on front where by I'm sure it's to the rear. Oh I'll keep tipping on at it for him.Again Thank you it was worth a try if nothing else.Regards,Richie
Richie Nolan Cylinder No. 1 is the one at the front. A manual or a service guide is hard to find, but I ask round and will do my best :) But if you are able to understand how the engine works, it should be no Problem without any manual, because the Steyr 188 is a mechanical thing.
