  • Let's make a drapery fold card easily in 8 steps! I promise you'll love it! I'm using the Magnolia Lane designer series paper along with the Stampin' Up! Good Morning Magnolia stamp set. This is an easy drapery fold card and the way I show you to cut the paper gives you two greeting cards you can make at once!
    I made these two greeting cards today as thank you cards but feel free to switch it up to any greeting that fits the occasion and you've got yourself a beautiful drapery fold card!
    My first card is using Petal Pink as the layer. And as you will see on my video you can easily make two cards with my measurements of the DSP!
    Which card did you like best? I'd love to hear from you!

    Beautiful cards! I think you folded your drapes opposite of each other. It's ok because each card looks special, at least too me which I love. Thank you for sharing your videos. You are so cute and funny. "Your techniques and instructions are so awesome just like you, Miss Sharon!" Have a Blessful week. We miss you, from Texas!

    Hello, Sharon! I LOVE THE DRAPERY FOLD CARDS! And this DSP is BEAUTIFUL! I LOVE BOTH OF THEM! This DSP was much easier to see the markings than in the video with the vellum, too! I REALLY like that this design gives you a “two-fer” in the creation! Just so, so pretty! I, too, am loving this MAGNOLIA SUITE of products! LOVELY, LOVELY! TFS & HAPPY STAMPIN’ n’ CREATIN’!! Have a TERRIFIC day! P.S. I’m stumped on the “why” the measurement on one of the cards was a tad off when folding the drapery~~but the FINAL card looked WONDERFUL! HUGS!

      Hello friend! I am so glad you loved these cards. I really love this DSP! Stampin' Up! knocked it out of the park with the Magnolia Suite! As far as why it didn't fit I really think it somehow was how I folded it. Thank you for your sweet words and have a great day!

    I made a drapery fold card a few months ago. For the measurements I used , there was extra left over at the sides that you wrapped about the front panel, which made it easier for dealing with variations.
    I love your card and the idea of the accent stamp as part of the rod.

    I like the pink card. If you added a piece of embossed floral vellum under the folded drapery piece it perhaps could look like sheer curtain under the floral piece.

    Thanks Sharon, I needed a new card idea today. Also, I noticed you have your scissors for ribbon cutting marked, great idea, even though I clean my scissors, sometimes there's residue from the glue on them. I am going to "borrow" that idea. Your card is beautiful as always.

    • @TxStampinSharon
      @TxStampinSharon  5 років тому

      Cathy when I have classes everyone knows those scissors are for ribbon only! LOL! I'm so glad you enjoyed the tip of marking them. I just used my label machine! That label has probably been on for 10 years! I'm glad you loved this card!

    I think the reason they came out different size is you started folding them differently. One you can see the back side (pink stripes) and one you can’t.

  • @cathywalsh7473
    @cathywalsh7473 5 років тому

    Sharon: I am wondering if the difference between one fitting perfectly and one not is due to the way it folds with the back showing on one and the other not, sounds crazy but have you ever noticed that when you make it one of the two cards fits perfect and the other one doesn't every time? Could also just be how they cut when you cut on the pencil marks. Not sure, but I will pay attention when I am making them (which is right now) :) As always, thank you for being so creative and sharing it with us.

    • @TxStampinSharon
      @TxStampinSharon  5 років тому

      I think it is a matter of how it is folded. How did yours turn out?

    • @cathywalsh7473
      @cathywalsh7473 5 років тому

      TxStampin Sharon Armstrong the folded the same size but I can see that if I don’t have it exact it can be different. I tried two different makers of paper (one was Stampin Up) and would tell everyone that Stampin Up works best because of the high quality, thickness, and double sided

    • @TxStampinSharon
      @TxStampinSharon  5 років тому

      @@cathywalsh7473 I can't tell you how happy I am you let me know! I agree to make all of these score lines the paper needs to be high quality like Stampin' Up! I sure hope you enjoyed making this card! Thank you!

    Beautiful cards Sharon, I like both of them and want to make them. One of the cards that you made in this video shows the backside of the DSP and the other doesn't, don't know if it made a difference in the measurements. Thank you for sharing.

    Hi Sharon, I think it’s because of the score/fold lines on the card stock it has shortened the finished folded piece! If it was fabric, there wouldn’t be so much of a discrepancy! That’s my thoughts 😉💖

    • @TxStampinSharon
      @TxStampinSharon  5 років тому +1

      I think you are right Sandy! I had some friends over to make these cards and we discovered it does work differently when you fold it one way or the other!

  • @annazzarello5379

    How did you get the curtain fold to not show the underneath print.

    • @TxStampinSharon
      @TxStampinSharon  5 років тому

      You know I had some friends over to make these last week and we figured out it's how you fold it. Play with it, you'll see if you fold one way you see the back side, fold the other way you won't. I honestly didn't realize this until I was teaching them in person or I would have mentioned on the video!

  • @craftysandyscards
    @craftysandyscards 5 років тому

    The reason the second card fitted better is because you didn’t have as many folds in it as in the first card. Just my thoughts on why the first one was shorter. Hope this helps Sharon 💖💖💖

      @TxStampinSharon  5 років тому

    The second drape was folded the correct way whereas the first one wasn't. There was no color from the back of the paper.

  • @patriciawinslow1554

    Your designer’s paper appears pretty stiff (heavy). When folding thicker paper it can take up more space causing it to appear smaller. Your second card you folded tighter. The card is beautiful. Solving little problems can often be a happy mistake.
