Given how good of a job the Studio Tomahawk guys did (still do) on Saga, I can't wait to see how V for Victory pans out. I like the idea of a platoon sized game. Big plus. What I'd really like to be able to do is give each troop a name and a set of individual stats, which will change over time as they individually gain experience. See the platoon reduce as players get killed or wounded, be able to buy in replacements and generally manage the platoon as you would in real life. As fox Victrix - my Gold standard for Roman age / Dark age minis - best on the market in my opinion. I'd love to see them migrate their 12mm stuff to 28mm.
Good show guys. Just recently starting to feel the itch to do sone WW2 and have just rewatched all the Chain of Command play throughs with Rich. Love Studio Tomahawks games so will be watching out for their WW2 rules. Conquest miniatures are going from strength to strength and this starter set, in my opinion, has the two nicest looking factions they have released to date. Well done to them.
I love the look of those 12mm Victrix ww2 minis, but who sells 12mm scale terrain? Is 15mm Flames of War terrain vaguely compatible? Also, what size bases would you use for basing each soldier individually?
I wouldn't , I've based most of my 12mm on 25x25 for panzer grenadier, 15mm FoW terrain you could get away with at a pinch, but 12mm is 1:144 if memory serves, so you can find t hat for scale modelling
Thanks for the information on V for Victory. I really enjoyed Congo as a system and I can see how it would work well for WWII. Looking forward to seeing this when it comes out.
V for victory may actually get me into WW2. The victrix airborne look pretty cool too. But I'm a big Conan fan and the new boardgame looks really cool, that's where I'm going after this finishes.
I’ve never seen an official Warhammer store with a bakery, but I’ve been to Dungeons & Donuts in Galway. Knight’s Watch in San Antonio, Texas, has its own food counter as well.
Thanks for V for Victory review. It seems cards and tokens do not come with the rules, like Congo. Makes it pricey. I hope to use these rules for Very British Civil War.
I’ve had some WW2 stuff sitting in the stash for a long time because I just can’t find the enthusiasm for Bolt Action or Chain of Command which are the two big ones round here. V for Victory looks like it might be worth a punt when it launches, can we expect a Let’s Play?
Huh. Jusy picked up Nuts! and now V is for Victory comes out. Have to have a peek... Gotta get some work on my Gretchin Kill Team done too. 16 left, time's burning...
I can't unsee it but that Conquest Box looks like the mage type person is attempting to boop the horse on the nose and the horse is less than pleased with the idea...
He is right about sharks and dolphins. With sharks they need the water flow over their gills to extract oxygen. And they can only get a constant flow of water by continuously swimming. And yes they sleep swim.
I have Congo, a great looking game 🌞 by the authors of V for Victory. It’s a bit clunky though. My first instinct was to convert it to make it more like Chain-of-Command. No need to do that for V for Victory: I can just play CoC. 🧐
You can use exactly the same minis to play both systems. No rebasing required. Indeed they’ll work for Chain of Command as well (a much more realistic and challenging game than Bolt Action, imho).
Great show today guys. I feel that's it's the death throes of Privateer by selling 3D printed minis to customers. Sure they might be trying to save cost whilst avoiding selling Restic [bad quality pvc] miniatures. I think they're done, sadly.
Gave up on WW2 gaming decades ago. All the big rules systems produced absurd games with no relation to actual fighting in WW2. Then I discovered Chain of Command. At last a fun, challenging and semi-realistic game that wasn’t an exercise in reading distance vs penetration tables. Bolt Action can be fun too but, imho, it’s not in the same league. Will be interesting to see how V for Victory pans out.
@@sirrathersplendid4825 even if it can pass that bar in terms of design, i have French, Romanian, Chinese armies and KNIL is the next in my paint que so It'll take a while to catch up.
V for Victory looks really good.. but so do the 12mm Victrix.... argh... Lol.. .my issues with the Privateer Press stuff is that it is not particularly multi-purpose... you were all JUST talking about how great the WW2 stuff is and how many games you can play with it... and as much as the Privateer Press stuff has some great artwork and some great aesthetics (some of 'em are misses to me, though) but there is not much ELSE I can play with them... Even the Warcaster stuff I tend to be able to use in stuff like OPR Grimdark Firefight or Xenos Rampant... these Warjacks and creatures and beef-cake units are not nearly as easy to get crossover rules for. Which is good for PP, but bad for me... lol... The other thing is that the Conquest 2 Player Starter with those new Sorcerer kings and basically new City States is a fantastic looking prize!!! Wow!
Pretty sure you can play V for Victory with 12mm figures. Might require some very minor tweaks regarding figure spacing - bases required to be within Xmm of each other rather than actually touching, but there shouldn’t be any other problems at all.
I like some of the Warmachine stuff, but between having no players, dislike for the lore development and the high cost of trying to keep up with everything I am completely burned on it. Conquest does interest me, would like to check out the smaller version but I am unable to find someone interested to play.
Hmm Spring cleaning isn’t my thing. But hoping to learn some tips and tricks. Although if I don’t straighten up the gaming stuff my wife can tell you my cause of death from my death certificate. I can see it now: cause of death, pissing me off”. lol. She’s a saint by the way. Just kidding.
I really think ANOTHER WW2 rules set is unnecessary. If you want historically accurate lists, make a random squad strength chart. Or make a scenario that is based on somewhat actual force strengths. Or make a set of guidelines for tournament list that have historical integrity. Making another rule set that promises to fix the gamey tournament list building is a band-aid.
I miss Free on the show! She classed up the joint a bit. Also, that conquest prize looks awesome; fingers crossed!
You are all in the wrong boxes! You messed with my equilibrium! LOL! Great episode guys!

Great to see Lloyd still does his best to just prevent the show from going on.
Haven’t listened to Weekender in a while, but decided to check back. Perfect for a lazy Sunday morning!
I just started posting about my Spring Clean Challenge. It's been great getting my Slaine figures painted and I think I'll get a game in this weekend.
I love the look of those 12mm Victrix ww2 minis, but who sells 12mm scale terrain? Is 15mm Flames of War terrain vaguely compatible? Also, what size bases would you use for basing each soldier individually?

Go down to 10mm scale for terrain. Between slightly larger and slightly smaller terrain, its generally better to go smaller, IMO.
Thanks for the information on V for Victory. I really enjoyed Congo as a system and I can see how it would work well for WWII. Looking forward to seeing this when it comes out.
Very interesting show, especially the part about dolphins.
As always, three guys try to run a serious show, and Lloyd just does his best to make a mess of it...
Yeap, it's hard work but I do my best :)
V for victory may actually get me into WW2. The victrix airborne look pretty cool too. But I'm a big Conan fan and the new boardgame looks really cool, that's where I'm going after this finishes.
Great show, much fun.
Really gotta get my SCC post started.
V for Victory sounds like it's totally up my alley. Very interesting.
Definitely will be keeping my eye on V for Victory. That looks like a good entry point for historical gaming.
The WW2 miniatures look amazing! Thanks for a good show.
Thanks for introducing me to V (or 5😏) big plus, I won't have any ridiculous shipping and customs fees being in France. 👍
Have a great weekend!
I also can't wait for the V!!!
Cheers
I’m interested in the V for Victory game thnx for the heads up I hadn’t heard about it.
great show lots to take in and the Conquest box hmmm
Like the Saga rules and be good to see their take on WW2 skirmish. Hopefully an opportunity to try a different theatre or special forces raid.
I’ve never seen an official Warhammer store with a bakery, but I’ve been to Dungeons & Donuts in Galway. Knight’s Watch in San Antonio, Texas, has its own food counter as well.
V for Victory could be the WW2 game I have been looking for…. Especially when they do N.Africa…
Been interested in WWII games again, so this new WWII game is pretty interesting timing
I’m tempted to pick up aos 4.0. Spearhead like combat patrol looks like a lot of fun
Great episode. Thx guys!
The Weekend Starts here, sat back and relaxed!
Really looking forward to UKGE this year, need to find out which indie mini games have demos on.
I'll have to take a look at that terrain for mardav, looks great.
Ooh, i'd like to have a go at winning the Conquest 2 Player Starter set!! 😇😁
Thanks for another great weekender show. Is there anyway to win UKGE anywhere ?
Very interested in V for Victory. Might finally get into WW2 miniature wargaming.
Have recently started looking at Conquest but can’t work out which of OD, CS or SK is the way to go. 🤔 Great video as always gents.
Another great week of hobby goodness!
Weekender at last - needed it this week 👍
A non GW prize for a change -shiny
Looking forward to MK3 Bolt Action and V for Victory will slot right in nicely

I imagine Gee's moist with anticipation.

Bolt Action getting v3, and now more rules, lots of options, nice
Happy Weekender time everyone. A bank holiday weekend for some. More hobby time. Hooray!
Finally! I never liked magnetizing so a magnetized kit is well overdue.
Interesting to see how v for victory compares to bolt action v3.
Well five for victory has thrown a spanner in the works with regards to 3rd ed bolt action. What too do?
You can use exactly the same minis to play both systems. No rebasing required. Indeed they’ll work for Chain of Command as well (a much more realistic and challenging game than Bolt Action, imho).

Still never gotten going with a WWII game. Did play an intro ofBolt Action once and that was good..

Great show as always!
Welcome to the weekender
I am looking forward to this game.
V for victory, chain of command, bolt action: which is the best WW2 platoon level game?
I mean depends on the parameters but I'd say Chain of command
@@anxiousandworrying1 thanks for your answer!
@@anxiousandworrying1- To be fair, we’ve not really seen the V for Victory system play-tested yet. But CoC sets a very high bar to beat.

Another great episode!
Flogobolololon ordered, it’s a thing of beauty!!
Late but my weekender starts now 😊
I really want to start warmachine just to get that Colossuss! Its so expensive in general though as a game :/
V for Victory looks really good.. but so do the 12mm Victrix.... argh...

It can't be Giftmas yet!!! I don't have it all sorted (just only slightly at the time of filming).
Love Conquest. Great game.
Οι πόλεις των κρατών είναι οι καλύτερες!!
The weekend starts now 👍
Best gaming news going around!
Great show
I want someone to give Gerry a big red gnome hat.
Five for victory looks like a good outing for my Brits.
lol just what i wanted from a gaming news show how to drown dolphins lol
Another great show.
Weekender time lets get it!
I need more troops to continue my conquest of the world
Nice one :)
All joy this show 👍🎲
Cool video as usual
Jerry
No Gerry May the Forth be with you and you all
Guys, anyone on here have any advice on where to begin creating a tabletop game with a company. Is there anyone out there with contacts etc?
Sounds like it shares a bit from Rules of Engagement from Great Escape Games.
Good show.
Comment popped! :)
Victoria are amazing models
I'm believe v will be fantastic
Gerry mentioned a puma and now im traumatised I will be suing for damages

Conquest does interest me, would like to check out the smaller version but I am unable to find someone interested to play.
the good thing is both rules are free and the minis work for both, so the box set actually is two games
Popping a comment here on youtube.

Top show chaps
Sure seems like studio tomahawk has abandoned muskets and tomahawks though. No update or reprints in years.
oooh interesting...)))))
Five for Victory!
4 neckbeards reinforcing stereotypes 😂😂😂

You guys always ensure me to hobby more but was put off by Jerry not being too tight and Ben not being too left. Too distracting!
CONQUEST👍
I lave saga a WW2 game would be interesting
