Jay, that is not pita bread, that's a fried Salvadoran tortilla, we have at least one tortilla with every meal, the main reason, is that in some cases food is not enough to fill you up, so we ask for more tortillas until we get full. On my high-school year AKA "bachillerato", my lunch was 3 tortillas and a piece of cheese, oh boy....those were hard times. I'm so glad you're having such a great experience.
P.S. if you wanna ask is something is fresh, just ask " esto lo acaban de hacer?" Or "es recien hecho? "

Saludos JCM. The filete de Chicken looked good. Elizabeth said the Pupusas Revueltas are the best, I believe shes right on. I don't prefer them though, me its Loroco con queso always. But Pasteles de carne, Pan con Pollo/Gallina (gayinah), Tamal Pisque (bean type), Tamal de Elote (corn type) and Tamal de Pollo (chicken type) are pretty classic dishes to eat in ES. I never tried them but "Mata Ninos" are popular I hear. Be safe brother, Blessings.

La Estancia looks to be a very nice and relaxing place. We’re you just visiting the hotel/restaurant, or were you actually staying there? Your meal there looked good, and I must assume, based on how I’ve seen you rate food in other videos, you were very satisfied with the chicken (pollo). You mentioned that the chips needed more salt. Do they not put salt out on the table? I’ll admit, I’m one of those that salts before I taste. Thanks for sharing!

If you’re still there my advice don’t get packaged foods. Get desayunos (breakfast) which is very common in our country and you’ll be full for the day.

Lots of countries make horchata. You can go to most Hispanic restaurants and order it. We had a Haitian girl live with us when we were in high school and even she knew what horchata is. There’s also cola shampan everywhere. I haven’t had a salvadorian one in years but I know Colombians and Peruvians have similar drinks (Inka Cola for Peru and Postobon for Colombia). Honestly I even think cream soda in the USA tastes like cola champan
