Another factor regarding Iran is Russia. The two countries are much closer than before and united in their growing pariah status, not to mention a indirect partnership with China and the BRICS cabal. I don't think Trump has the political bandwidth to do anything of consequence to Iran without stirring up many other issues. He may still try, but he won't be successful.
