    Good on ya! Thanks for your service! I flew O1s also, and loved working with the Aussies. They were terrific!

    A moving interview from the Aussie. I never met an Aussie Bird dog. I was assigned to the 21ST TASS at Cam Rahn Bay. We did have an Aussie detachment that Flew C-7 Caribou's and I can say those troops were a spirited bunch! Outstanding people!

    I just watched BAT21 and realized that there was guys zooming around the tree tops in these crop dusters hitting the treetops with their gigantic balls of steel. They were like modern day drones but manned. These guys definetly deserve alot more recognition

    As a US Army O-1G Birddog pilot in Vietnam, you might want to adjust or correct your on-screen text that said the O-1 was a civilian aircraft used by the military. The O-1 was made specifically for the US Army in 1949 or 1950. It was not turned into a civilian aircraft until well into the 1980s or so.

    R A F Gary Cooper Tamarlie 31 was recommended for Congressional Medal of Honour The Australian Government refused to allow him to accept this award.
