One thing that they don’t tell you about Hunting raptors is that Alt costs aren’t like things like ninjutsu, they can be reduced. You aren’t getting the most out of it in this deck cause there aren’t as many reductions but under the right circumstances you can use that prowl cost to put down Dinos for just one mana
Yes finally! Another Kaheera companion enjoyer. I also appreciate your advice about having no enrage dinos in the deck. With all these great new dinos, cutting creatures for upgrades has been a challenge. And you make a strong argument against enrage.
I mean, dont get me wrong. I like enrage. But if you wanted to make an enraged focused deck, I would rather use the indoraptor or waita. Gishath wants so much power coming into play
Is running Kaheera as a companion worth it when you can play Roaming Throne in the 99? This card is just so strong. I'm currently debating between runing them both in my deck, or cuting roaming throne to play Kaheera as a companion. Doubling Gishat's ability and all of your other good dino triggers is just that strong that I don't want to pass on it. What are your thoughts?
@Zalefa Very good point. I've been debating with myself on that. I think I'm gonna hold off on cutting the companion just to keep my dino deck all dinos(minus kaheera). Just thematically makes me happier. I could just add strionic resonator though!
Great additions, specially with the double attack spells. I'm fond of using Mirror Entity because it goes unnoticed when it drops early and late game when you're flooded with mana from many ramps, you can make all of them swing for some big damage, even Ghaltas too
I pulled most of the enrage cards, added better ramp and cost reduction. Thought about using Kaheera in the 99 (not as companion) but the dinos are big enough. Pulled Return of the Wildspeaker for Overwhelming Stampede. The trample is too important and not all dinos have it. Elvish Piper is a good addition.
Poetic Ingenuity almost makes me want to slide an Anointed Procession into the deck, plus Bonehoard Dracosaur would go nuts with Anointed Procession as well.
Great video! Surprised that you don't include Polyraptor though, I feel like it's too strong to skip even if enrage is clunky. Wrathful Raptors with Star of Devastation is also a cool and flavorful tech in the deck.

I feel like if you're getting to ramp a lot, i find them unnecessary because when you swing with gishath, you want to be hitting only dinosaurs. Thats atleast my take.
@@PubStompMTGI don't see why you can't have the humans AND get pretty consistent hits with Gishath. I don't like the idea of relying on Gishath, anyway. His biggest strength isn't playing him on curve, but playing him after someone has cleared the board.
@louelastic954 Most of the humans are pretty bad. I wouldn’t go as far as saying better, but definitely more consistent. Throwing some low cost blink spells in pantlaza and guaranteed triggers go a long way, but gishath hits peaks much higher than pantlaza does if you’re playing Dino’s for both.
I really wouldn’t say Pantlaza is the better choice. It’s ability to discover is great but alot of Dino’s have high mana costs so you might miss on hitting your big Dino’s and just end up drawing with its ability more often than not. Gishath is a go wide deck with Dino’s that just cheat those big Dino’s into play, and honestly there’s very few Dino’s in the deck that have cast triggers over just etb triggers, so the pay off is just much higher. Gishath is still my main boy, with pantlaza in the 99 to help me filter through the deck when needed.

Up to you. I like the challenge of deckbuilding with kaheera, but if im being honest, it's not super optimal. I like the idea of it because it incentives us to run, completely run only dinosaurs, acts as an 8th card in hand when starting the game, and buffs up gishath with the anthem. However, roaming the throne, doubling up gishath triggers can be quite insane along with doubling any dinosaur trigger, too.
I dontnunderstand why more people are not including Isengard Unleashed in decks like this.... did people not get that card? Triple damage this turn that can not be blocked or prevented? With Dinos? With Gishath that would be 21 commander damage in a single hit and would instantly take someone out of the game and allow for that many cards to potentially be added to the battlefield, and then with Aggravated Assault you get another combat phase to utilize those Dinos you just put into the field to potentially win the game
Idk personally I think that a 5 mana 3R sorcery can be quite clunky at times and the way trample interacts with the triple damage is unfavorable as the multiplier is applied after trample damage is assigned. I write this with a fiery emancipation in my Xenagos god of revels deck so I am a fan of this sort of stuff just think that as a sorcery version even with flashback isnt the best fit for Gishath.
@sethadelman8 see I didn't realize that Trample and a Multi interacted like this, but it's good to know. And it can be clunky, but with enough luck, (and ramp) it could be a good option to at least add in the x99. Any suggestions for something that's cheaper for a similar option?
@@Shadowmeire well torbran and mechanized warfare are cheaper theyre more limited and just worse. Not sure if theyre are any other triple damage spells that go for less than 5 mana though.
Question for you, I am super new to magic so pardon my ignorance but why would you use the lands like Arid Mesa that cost a life point instead of a regular land.
roaming throne is incredibly good for he's ability to double any trigger ability not simply the enter in the battlefield one so i can also double the trigger of giosath effect if i'm not wrong with that. And even if is not possible a looottt of dino had pretty good etb. Some example in vrac : -etali primordial conqueror, Bronzepeack , tranquill frillbrac, regisaur alpha, kogla and yiidaro, apex altisaur, gathla stampede tyrant, topiary stomper, flamming tyranosaurus (this one is better on a pantlaza focused deck), wrathfull raptor, etc.... Also considering the important note that if you play roaming thrones you can't play kaheera on the list but especialy iof you are a new player or low in a budget you can had other creature card whon can help you for a lower price to ramp or assit your dino.
@@DiscordAceOfClubsSo the purpose of cards like Arid Mesa is to sacrifice it and search your deck for a land of at least ONE of the two given type options. It can be both, and it can be one, but it has to have at least one of the types. This includes a cycle of lands called "Shock Lands," which refers to the lands that have two land types, and enter tapped unless you pay 2 life (which is similar to being affected by the card "Shock" that deals 2 damage). The purpose of this is having a flexible source of color fixing on demand in either tapped or immediately untapped use. This also applies to what are called "Triomes," the lands with THREE different land types, enter tapped but you could cycle them (pay the cost, discard the card from your hand, and draw a card), for even more flexibility on color fixing. This is only necessary for those who want consistency as fast as possible, but this does become costly money wise. This is why the lands that are common or uncommon that automatically enter tapped and only tap for one of two different colors are extremely cheap, compared to the ones that ask for life. Typically, if a land is asking for health for an effect, it usually is a very valuable effect on the game. Hope this made enough sense.
@@DiscordAceOfClubsDeck thinning (less relevant in commander) which means the more lands you pull out of your deck the more likely you are to draw cards other than lands, and also mana fixing.
