I have had a Yaw combo control deck since he first came out. But lately i grew tired of the same old strategy. I tried to power it down from a 9 to a 7 minimizing combos ando moving towards a counters / proliferate strat (staying away from infect if a can) with more thematic cards like phyrexian incubator and such.

I have a pretty boring Grist (MH3 version) like standard Golgari goodstuff and cool creatures deck I don't use so much and reaaaaaally feeling the pull to make the Mimeoplasm out of it. As a bonus I absolutely adore Ron Spencer and his new illustration.

Putrid imp is a good include discard a card putrid imp gains flying till end of turn. A free discard effect

The Nezahal token will get exile if you use it's ability, but it's ability is also a free discard outlet. Actually, this could be fun with doing mostly/all legends. Have Primevals' Glorious Rebirth and Urza's Ruinous Blast to take advantage, too.

Sun Titan, Archon of Cruelties, or Ashen Rider all seem like great targets.

I found a couple “players sacrifice X lands” and it’s totally hilarious to get him down to two pips, blowup the board basically and play Balrog for two mana. Also play extra combat spells go kill for commander lethal.

Stuff like Tolarian Winds or Decaying Time Loop are also phenomenal for politics. "Hey I see you let through their 1/1. What will you do for me to not make it 15 power?" Or what will someone else give you to help them take out the threat etc.

I went mean for my Hashaton build. Annihilators, Avacyn, Whispering Sheoldred, etc. Hopefully locking the board down early. I also added Mana Breach since I shouldn't be casting a bunch of spells compared to everybody else. It should slow them down and if I can get an Annihilator down, it should just be game over.

Hmm, if you have different instances of a discard, like a card that says “discard a card:…”, why couldn’t you choose more than one creature for each? Why not swing with 5, discard 5 individual cards, buff each by 2, and draw 5 cards? Am I missing something

Slight correction when New Mimeo copies a creature it exiled with the first ability the P/T will be 0/0 due to the formatting of the ability. So you do not get the size of whatever you copy. You do get relevant keywords and other abilities and properties however.

One thing I really love with this dude (two, I guess) is that this is a static ability, and it doesn't have to target our creatures but we always are the one to draw cards.... so with a discard outlet, cyclers, etc. you can do it on opponents turns to pump their unblocked creatures and draw cards! Very devious, very pirate-y.

You're right that effects you mention at the end like Foretell won't let you draw a card with Ketramose, but they can be used to bump up his number of cards exiled if you're trying to get him online sooner. Doomskar is phenomenal this way since it can be foretold early (getting that 7 count up) and then used as a board wipe when you have enough exiled / need an emergency button and then you can keep Ketramose around to slam into opponents.

Seems like a great deck for teferi's ageless insight. Basically need to stuff it with looters and conniver's and turning looting into draw 2 discard one seems pretty huge. From playing mock games I've found you can't really have too many looters either since you get to make 4/4 zombies of them so they serve as both early and midgame creatures between the big bombs Dreamscape artist is kind of awesome in this deck, basically translates to 4 mana: ramp a land and make a zombie creature Kozilek, the great distortion is awesome too. Fills your hand and let's you discard for free counters that you can then make zombies out of and doesn't have the shuffle in clause

Starving Revenant is good?

Agent of the Shadow Thieves is really good one for Karlach, 1B so whenever she attacks the opponent with the most health she gets +1/+1, Deathtouch, Indestructible, and she already gives first strike. Deathtouch + First Strike is a deadly combination, and the +1/+1 means that after 2 turns of attacking (4 combats), Karlach is a 6/5, 7/6, 8/7, and finally 9/8, which is really solid for commander damage, especially if you're in a 1v1 situation where the same opponent always has the most life left
