stalking jack the ripper is one of my fav series and i will say in the first one the killer was kinda obvious i guessed who it was by like 80 pages but it was still interesting to read about audrey figuring out. also thomas is just 🤭🤭🤭🤭 man’s had me giggling and kicking my feet lol. i’m about to start the 3rd one (escaping from houdini..did i spell that right idk) and the 2nd one was pretty slow imo but the atmosphere was so worth it (plus the last 100 or so pages had me 😧😧😧 the whole time) but i hope you enjoy it as much as it did (i rated the first one 4/5 and the 2nd 3.75/5)

Once Upon a Broken Heart is one of my all time favs I can't wait to hear what you think! Although I do love the second book even more, which I initially didn't think was possible

oOoo I read Jack the Ripper, and I liked it ig but not enough to want to read the rest of the series and I guessed who "Jack " was pretty early on
same I knew right away who he was
soooo: stalking jack the ripper and the whole series is SO GOOD!!. i guessed who the murderer was but in the next books? i had no clue. and don’t worry, you’ll experience adventure, tension and fear & you’ll be disturbed , at least i was😁 btw, the sequels i liked even more so give it a try (and yes the covers aren’t my favorite too lmao)
and a good girls guide to murder was a 5 STAR READ for me. and yk what? IT STILL GETS BETTER. i cried while reading the second book. AND THE THIRD BOOK?! it was so dark and so good. do we support women’s rights yes? BUT IN THIS BOOK WE ALSO SUPPORT WOMENS WRONGS.

Shatter destroy unravel fracture ignite restore shadow defy reveal imagine and believe me
The novellas destroy and fracture me is together as unite me and shadow me and reveal me is together as find me
So I wanted to know whether they are like divided in the book itself like in unite me the first half is destroy me and the second half as fracture me because as they 1.5 and 2.5 book respectively and I wanted to read it in a order

@@maditales So I have a few thoughts….
first theory- Sam is in a mental institution as she is schizophrenic. the “cohort” is group therapy hence why it is such a small group of only women. the way the chairs were “huddled together” gives that impression. This explains why sam was consistently criticized for “dark writing” by Ursula. This would also explain sams strange living situation that is less than ideal…the detachment from the home environment gives it a clinical feel. She mentions a man flashing her and this seems like the kind of unhinged that could potentially be in an institution. This would also explain the constant references to murders and beheadings in the area. The “bunnies” could be doctors, hence why they come across as obnoxiously united and overly fluffy. Samantha does not like how their appear so she makes them the villians. This would also explain the tic tac pills and drinks often given to her by the bunnies to help. And why her hair is uncomfortably styled because in an institution your appearance can be regulated.
Theory 2- Sam is at the university, but she is a suffering schizophrenic. She actively hallucinates. the bunnies “darlings” that they create at their smut salons could merely be them ( as they are writers ) coming together of an evening and trying to come up with characters for their writing, and sam is hallucinating them into reality. The bunnies were a usual “clique” of girls but sams hallucinations presented the versions of them she described , not using their names, for example “the duchess” and at one point they all become so blurred sam cannot tell them apart. The “bunnies” were seen at their true form closer to the end after max turned them against one another.
At the point in the novel where the grandma lookalike is reading schizophrenia symptoms on the bus, whispering them into sams ear, you realize sam is an unreliable narrator suffering psychosis. This stance is also a criticism of ivy leauge schools romanticizing mental illness and disguising it as creativity, for example “the body” and “performing”
Theory 3- now let’s incorporate some magical realism and say this was all really happening , and the bunnies were creating the “darlings” and everything else was truly happening, then it is obvious Ava and max were not real. Ava was a manifestation of sams deepest desires, her desire for a home and belonging. The bunnies recognizes Ava as a “darling” from the distinctive gloves and “feathery white hair” . Max was a manifestation of sam, and her darkest desires to hurt the bunnies.
