Well I loved everything that you showed us, but I was seriously looking at your holiday decor. It brought back such fun memories of our own aluminum tree that we bought the first year that we were married. Your carolers under the street lantern was my favorite. The first Christmas for us in 1966, we also had our very first dog named Tober and we had a heat wave that year. I opened the window to give us some fresh air and cool the room. The wind blew that tree over and our poor dog almost died from fright. Some watch dog. My husband also fell in love with this door arrangement. It was diamond shaped. It took me several years to realize that it was most likely a funeral spray really, but it was well made and lasted for years. I patched it for years to make it last. Alas the time comes to just let it go. Like most of your fans, I think the green suit was the top find, but I also loved the purse.
Wow! Such great finds! Personally I think the suit takes the cake as the best find. It has such a gorgeous color and fit, and what a fantastic price too!
I too have one of those white Atomic era kitties made in Brazil! I love him - scored him for free when I was picking up a completed project at the furniture restoration shop.🐱 The owner dated him to the ‘60s.
Great Finds!! Those r beautiful dresses!! Hard to decide the best...all gorgeous! I lov thrifting too! Yesterday I got a 1950s Kirby, mint shape all kinds of attachments! Including paint sprayer, shampooer & floor polisher...How fun! all for $60 💛
Absolutely adore your hair in this video! You look amazing! You’ve had some great finds this year. Hopefully 2019 will be just as good to you! 😊 Also- That amazing suit is by far #1
I love everything ! But the stretched glass is around 2.00 dollars here in Indiana at goodwill . Guess a lot of people don’t like vintage here but I do. 🥰
I enjoy your channel so much. I also love the 50 era and vintage things. Women back then based on pictures, history i have seen dressed so beautifully. I am not from that era but enjoy looking at the past fashion. Thank you 😊
Oh my goodness! I'm having a hard time picking between the alligator purse and the 1930's brown dress. I enjoy your channel so much. I feel like I'm visiting with a wonderfully fun neighbor friend, every time I watch an episode.
Love watching your finds. My only question is what thrift stores do you go to? I have been thrifting/going to yard sales/ vintage shopping for YEARS (think 10+) and I never find deals like you do. What is your secret? The best I ever found was a true vintage 1950's dress at goodwill and that was $30. Generally, the thrift stores seem to know they have a vintage/ valuable item and price it as such. How do you find true vintage for so cheap?
catsandferns thanks so much! Not dumb at all. It depends on the fabric. If it is cotton, or something washable I usually soak it in Woolite. Then hang to dry. Sometimes I have to soak it multiple times depending on how bad it is. The 30’s dress I took to the dry cleaner. We have a good one in town that understands about vintage and how delicate it is, so I trust them.
Depending on the fabric, I soak the garment in cool water with a mild detergent like woolite or retro clean. Usually over night, then rinse it out and soak again if needed.

I think my favorites have to the brown embroidered outfit followed really closely by the green velvet suit.
The suit and dress are awesome, I also love the Pan Am bag! 🥰
My mother had one of the black kittys. I think it was from the late or early 60's. It was there all the time on the shelf, as I was born in 1957.
I had those little mermaid bedsheets!! I wonder if my mother still has them somewhere... I’ll have to ask! I loved those.
And I had some Jasmine & Raja sheets :)

Thank you! I find the more often you go, the more likely to find treasures ☺️
That 30's dress is fabulous! This is probably a dumb question, but how do you get that "old" musty smell out of the clothes that you thrift?
catsandferns thanks so much! Not dumb at all. It depends on the fabric. If it is cotton, or something washable I usually soak it in Woolite. Then hang to dry. beautiful
What would you soak it in....since the stains are settled?
I like to use a product called Retro Clean. If I’m out of that sometimes I’ll use Oxy Clean or Woolite.
Laci Fay The Vintage Girl Next Door thank you!

Omg , my grandma had a golden hamper like that . I have it now .lol

To find a hamper in that condition is 😮
How do you soak your items?
Depending on the fabric, I soak the garment in cool water with a mild detergent like woolite or retro clean. Usually over night, then rinse it out and soak again if needed.

Ms.ElizabethGrace thanks so much!!
How can a real 1940s suit be $4?! Is this usual or is Laci just supreme at finding bargains? A suit like this in Britain would be about £200!
You have a beautiful figure! I wish I was curvy like that (my body is more like a 12 year olds). 😄
