Beautiful montage! All the salient points of the two films, but not enough to spoil the enjoyment of someone who is coming to them for the first time. You could teach a lot of the editors who assemble trailers today a thing or two! A lot of trailers tell you too much, ruining the real film's impact. Love your montage, Love the Quatermass films. Excellent work!
There are few that realize the extreme genuine terror of Q 2, we are 2 of them, I saw it at 5 yrs old & it had such a profound effect on me. I'm 67 now & still it haunts my memory. Only the original Blob gets close! Probably directly inspired by this.
love all the incarnations of Quatermass (does anyone else love how the radio 'Quatermass Memoirs suddenly acts as a bridge into the John Mills tale?)...my first 'experience' (Xperience?) of it being glimpses of the films on late night tv and then the John Mills story, but my father always used to talk about "Quatermass and THE MARK!" as he would put it :-) Following on from this tribute to the Hammer films versions, would an equally great Tribute be in the works for the TV serials?
I will never understand why critics say Brian Donlevy is all wrong, that he is miscast and being American. He is absolutely brilliant in both movies. It's like he was born to play professor Barnard Quartermass.
Great editing. I've seen professional trailers worse. Pity you couldn't edit out the appalling Brian Donlevy. I'm hard pressed to think of anyone WORSE to play Quatermass.
During the Dunwich incident of 1929 in the United States, there was a large amount of Black Sticky substance that was found at the original growth site and any place the creature had been through.
Please explain the Dunwich incident you mentioned. I thought it was a work of fiction turned into The Village of the Damned! Black Goo, 1929,U.S... Not England ???!???
I remember watching the first Quatermass aka The Creeping Unknown. It scared that hell out of me as a kid. It lead to my love of scfi horror and of course Doctor Who. Excellent job on this video. Thank you for rekindling the nostalgia.
+fast1919 The only way it could be in orbit that keeps it over the night side of Earth is if it were parked in the Earth-Sun Lagrangian Point #2. That's real, but I think it's pretty far away from the Earth's surface.
I Hate HOLTZX THE PLANETS...in the 70s all planetariums used that damn music...as a student aid I got to work at the largest planetarium in OC CA--Tessmann Planetarium and used music from films like ElectraGlide In Blue; JAWS; ROCKY, SERPICO, OUTER LIMITS (60s), ALIEN (sim to Holtz though), Star Trek, Star Wars, The FInal Countdown, John Denver, Silent Running, PATTON! I had FUN then!
Nah. It'll be full of political correctness and preaching about equality etc. Probably have a one eyed female black dwarf with one leg and gender identity issues.
Quatermass 2 scared the crap out pf me as a kid, when he looks into the tanks and sees the creatures!
Sang1957 same with me! 😵😱
@@anaconda470 The Same w me! 1957 Van Nuys ! The demons were all over this flick!
Same here.
I have only limited knowledge of the Quatermass movies; however, they must have influenced shows like the X-Files. Fantastic!
Consummate editing; prepositional, perfect cuing, from the spine.

Quatermass II is my all-time fav 'creepy' movie...
I like what you've done here...
The sound-track is a winner...
O.S.M.

Absolutely superb cutting, beautiful work.
What a terrific piece of work! Well edited, full of suspense...makes me want to check out these early movies more than ever.
Mars, the scary planet. Damn you, Holst!
Try watching the original opening to Star Wars with the battle on Leia's ship. Williams used elements of Holst's "Mars".
This was brilliantly done! Obviously, a labour of love, and with consummate technical skill!
WORTH WAITING FOR 10 OUT OF 10
Nicely done, two great movies!
Magnificent. Well done.
Superb montage!
Good compilation!
Great using holst the planets !! Mars the bringer of war

great story line in the 50s spooky in its day quatermass and the pit was the best
@mebiggles1 Me Dad said he was working there when this was filmed-his 84 now
The second film to be shown as part of the horror double Bill season on Saturday 2 August 1975.
Quatermass II is currently on BBC iplayer if that's any help...

great video, thanks for posting
GREAT MONTAGE!
Isn't it wonderful !
excellent I have watched this a few times and I love it brilliant. Would love someone to do a colorised job on these 2 films.
Bloody nice compilation!
I love Brian Donlevy
Fantastic
Love the theme. I fantasize about making 21st century remakes of these and have the original Quatermass theme in them.
Too much story in it for today. You would need to water it down a lot and promote social justice
Great editing. I've seen professional trailers worse.

I thought he was excellent, very demanding & insistent in his digging. No accounting for taste.
I can understand the need to have a yank as Quatermass to sell the film to America - but - even so....
....and people reckon 'Quatermass and the pit' (film) is better than this? Fucking drugs imo...
Love all the 3 quartermass films, truly great science fiction and to say which one is best , I cannot.
Looks like they used the same Mack??? truck (at 3.44) in Q2 film and Q2 series

did that village ever return ? ; )
He wasn't American: he was born in1901, in Portadown, County Armagh, Northern Ireland. So that's one up for the Irish.
He was both. Born in Ireland, raised in America.

I've been trying to think of the name that film for a long time , I remember it from my childhood but couldn't remember what it was called ,
Want to on my iPad please :(

Bring quatermass back on for21st century
