He Said thing is Mattel will just ignore all criticism. They genuinely don't care and gave everyone the middle finger. They really underestimated everyone's intelligence and their love for Thomas.
At least they can't stop us from introducing today's little kids to old Thomas. There are still parents out there who don't believe Thomas needs to copy other generic preschool shows in order for today's preschoolers to enjoy it.
I can't imagine the 2d animation in a whole movie. Combined with the simplistic non-train plots it would just drag on forever. Like if the learning parts of Calling all Engines were the whole movie.
I can just imagine the Mattel executives overseeing the project just looking at stacks upon stacks of this new Thomas merch and realising that no kid is going to want them.
Well, at least parents under the Modern British Empire like Brits, Kiwis, Aussies and Most of the Canadians. But Modern Americans on the other hand like it because they wanna make sure that Thomas is a baby show as possible. They liked All Engines Go because they never use trains anymore.
Mattel: Our Thomas toys aren't selling as well as Paw Patrol's, so we need to make the show faster paced and less realistic to appeal to modern audiences. *They create BWBA. Bulstrode is appearing likely because of how much merchandise he gets and he's probably their main boat character, as for the reboot itself I find the stories to be okay not because of returnees but because they are genuinely watchable for me. Though I don't know what to say either, they've already greenlit two seasons so there's no going back now. Will another reboot come in the future which is set in a format similar to the original series? Will the franchise just continue in merchandise?... To be honest the second option seems likely.
I'm not surprised that All Engines Go did backfired, like seriously I don't see how that babyfied version of Thomas is supposed to be appealing to kids or even adults. Like lets use A Pup Named Scooby Doo for example, the whole gimmick of that show is the Gang are not teenagers but young kids and it didn't really change much as the creators use the same formula of the gang solving mysteries but give it a new look and change the setting a bit while staying true to the original show as much as possible and has gain some fans of it's own. All Engines Go on the other hand, it changes everything about the original show completely from the setting, the characters, the style and more. Even trying to pass it off as it's own thing, a series separated from the Main Show, it still doesn't work as well it's just too childish, it doesn't seem to pleased the old fans who watch the original show or even new fans. At first I thought this reboot was inoffensive but then not long after I realized that it is pretty offensive to anyone who likes Thomas.
I can't believe that in the interview from months ago about the series by a person working at Nelvana said that the reboot was intended for a wider audience and that the original was for a younger audience... He obviously had it ASS-BACKWARDS!! Bruh, even looking at the show, looking at the visuals, the music, and the voice acting should tell you enough that this was meant for very young kids... the very same young kids who think it's shit!
When I was a kid I was a huge Thomas fan. it all started when one of my cousins handed me one of their tapes and I was hooked. I grew up watching the 80s version and the 90s version. I also watched the new episodes when they aired on pbs. Eventually at some point, I grew out of Thomas but i tend to watch old episodes on here. If I were a kid now, I would hate Thomas.

I wrote a review on IMDb, for you, me and literally anyone who says they like Thomas. I’m proud that I’m part of this “shows” destructive criticism 😈. 2.3 stars, that worse than the emoji movie 😂😂😂
@AaliyahFan2005 , I was born just after the 4th season. George Carlin's voice was no longer recognizable during that period. My mom bought about a dozen of those tapes when me and Hank were babies. My favorite VHS tape was Tenders and Turntables, at the time it was the only Ringo Starr Thomas video we owned. Trouble in the Shed is like Citizen Kane in a way to me. I never realized also how the 4th season sat on the shelf perfectly alongside its predecessors in the US on video.
To be honest, Siskel and Ebert once said that it’s okay to walk out on a movie or reboot as long as you’ve admitted that you’ve walked out due to contrived plots and off the rails concepts.
Mattel doesn't understand much about children when it comes to a demographic or the matter of a niche audience format from UK, it really puts more damage to the brand, than actually "fixing" it. Cars had it worse on a UA-cam channel where it's toddler ish friendship morals that Pixar wasn't known for.
Wait so my theory was correct and they Americanized it even more? I knew this was airing on Cartoon Network but they DID take it away from the UK roots and hands? Holy shit, they dun fucked up.
What’s hilarious is that we all saw this coming a mile away. It’s absolutely glorious how much Mattel has flopped on this, and now that it’s happened it brings a devious diesely smile to my face I’m Gray, and I’m here to watch Mattel burn😁
We wouldn’t be at this stage if… Mattel had given the USA better distribution to the show- if they had continued the home media releases or put it on something like Netflix in 2016/17 perhaps rather than 2020 when the show was reaching its death. Mattel wants us to believe the shows team were making kids lose interest in Thomas because they were bored of trying to make it appeal to families rather than just small children but that’s bulls**it it’s because they were not giving the show enough easy access to view it in America at least which is why it declined in sales.
What shows that Mattel tried to ruin when Hit Entertainment is bought out by Mattel Bob The Builder: 2015 to 2018 Fireman Sam: ??? Pingu: Well Mattel doesn’t or couldn’t do anything with Pingu anymore since Pingu in the City because of Japan’s fan base Barney & Friends: ????? Where’s the revival?! Angelina Ballerina: ?????? (Seriously the new version made the ballerina characters wear ballerina outfits outside of class compared to the original) Not much that Mattel can do
Everybody gangsta till the people at Mattel try to make it up and bring back Brenner to write for a new model series But they f**k up and make Arthur a car
My dad told me earlier today that he saw this on a show called This Morning basically saying how children are crying & that, as said in the video, it’s not Thomas & Seeing this made my fucking day 🤣
I can just hear the ‘Portals’ music from Endgame being played as everyone here and in the public assembles against the big bad evil known as Mattel! Every forgotten characters from the original Thomas show both Model and CGI along with the RWS characters who never made it into the show would emerge from various portals as the original Thomas characters featured in both Model and CGI would all unite and assemble against the big bad known as Mattel! Even Nia, Rebecca, Ace, all the new underused international characters both introduced in true GR and BWBA (along with its seasons) would also unite in utter disgust against the Big Bad known as Mattel. Beresford and other cranes introduced in CGI would provide ammunition to make all the CGI talking Thomas planes like Emerson and Isla become military jets as the Battle of Sodor would commence to bring down and defeat the evil Mattel guided by the spirit of the beloved Wilbert Awdry, Frankie, Hurricane, Theo, Lexi and Merlin would also join the side of Sodor against Mattel and its army of minions… I can just see Lady, Mr Conductor and the rest of the minor characters from the model era being the first to let out the war yells and roars followed by obscure RWS characters and then Thomas and every single character featured throughout the cgi era from season 13 to BWBA including every underused international character. Soon all three eras Book-era, Model-era and CGI-era would yell and shout in unison with Thomas being the leader against Mattel the biggest bad of all. Mattel will suffer all the casualties while Thomas and every single character both main, Major, supporting and minor from the books, the model era and the cgi era would sustain a number of bruises.. Jeremy, Tiger Moth, Emerson and Isla all now fitted with badass military equipment and looking similar to military jets would all fly glaring ferociously at Mattel..
As a Star Wars fan, I’m pretty use to the fall of a franchise and then the rise back up from fans. (I'm taking about the sequels btw) Hopefully the same will happen with Thomas with criticism like this.

who here agrees that Edward and Henry need a spin off show they are more part of us than Rebecca and Nia and it should Be CGI basically picking up where they left off when they left the steam team.
I think the mark Forster live action film is a backup if the reboot fails and they’ll return to old style with the live action film, one of the smartest thing they’ve done other than hire Andrew brenner
Just when the CGI stuff became bearable.. They convert it to whatever the hell AEG is.. Most of the fan made Thomas episodes on Trainz are more well made and even written when it comes to custom stories. Mattel NEED to hire people who know what to do or sell it to someone who can bring TTTE back to its heyday (okay, maybe not models, but the Brenner-CGI stuff maybe)
Every time I hear about this I just cannot help but think that we owe the Sharon Miller era a HUGE apology sure it had it’s problems but even it wasn’t as bad as this.

Season 21 was pretty good wdym
I fucking hate how everyone groups s21 with bwba just cuz edward left
One bad episode doesn't make an entire season bad
Season 21 was fine, it just got dragged down with bwba
Season 21 was the stepping stones for BWBA so I can understand why but for me I group it with the Brenner Era because it doesn't really have much of those elements BWBA had.
Season 16 looks like the Railway Series compared to the reboot. even the Sharon Miller era.
Hopefully this'll show that simplifying and dumbing down something that was special to people of all ages can have MAJOR backlash. Hopefully we can somewhat get something close to the classic series again

You know, I really hate how Mattel is using the "It's for kids" argument here. First off, a show can be good or bad whoever it's mainly made for, I rarely see anyone defend Caillou cause "it's for kids" and the people who do use this argument never seem to have a problem with an adult liking a show meant for kids, besides, just because you're small doesn't mean you have no sense of quality. Oh, and even if that was a valid excuse, there are literal toddlers who hate the show, so it doesn't work.
I rather watch Caillou than this season 25 BS. Caillou was at least consistent.
Ugh! Speaking of Caillou, he's literally coming back from the dead and coming to Cartoon Network.

It’s actually pretty cool.
And the employee’s aren’t careless. They have attempted to and are trying to get the models proper maintenance and possibly even complete restorations, they aren’t permitted to do that.
Happy to know that kids even hate it, I saw this teaser for it and immediately knew this would fail.
Unlucky tug was right DOOMED to FAIL
Percy looked at reboot Thomas. "What's this steaming lump scrap iron?" he teased. "I'll be back!" replied reboot Thomas. "So you can wipe that silly face off your smokebox!" "Pah!" said Percy and wheeshed him loudly.
Thomas looked at the reboot Engines, “Well, well, well! The Reboot Steam Team is.. Criticized, Backlashed, and Hated!” He teased
Then butch the breakdown vehicle arrived. He was towing a reboot toy from the store to be recalled. "What happened?" asked toby's driver. "He was not being bought from the shelves." came a reply "And he lost sales."
"Not very useful now are you?" Said toby. "REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!" screeched the reboot.
Then Butch the breakdown vehicle arrived, he was towing reboot Percy.
"What happened?" asked toby's driver
"He was bouncing from track to track" came the reply "and he bounced off the tracks."
"Not very useful now are you!" said Toby
"GRRRR" replied Reboot Thomas and Percy
Then James whistled excitedly "There bringing in Reboot Diesel on a barge! what happened to that one?" asked James.
"Stupid engine was jumping and spinning so much he jumped right into the sea!" said the tow truck man!
It beautiful that the world realize how bad the reboot is.
Even as a kid I loved the more realistic Thomas stories. Can't say why but it seemed better if the stuff was real, rather then BS.

This reboot got exactly what it deserves, hope it gets cancelled and/or taken off the air for good.
I LOVE HOW A KID SAID THATS NOT THOMAS THATS MY FAVOURITE PART THAT KIDS A FUTURE HARVARD TEACHER CAUSE THAT ISNT THOMAS
He Said thing is Mattel will just ignore all criticism. They genuinely don't care and gave everyone the middle finger. They really underestimated everyone's intelligence and their love for Thomas.
It's almost like they dislike trains...
Because they only support other kids properties like Dr. Suess or fairytale shit like most modern Americans do
At least they can't stop us from introducing today's little kids to old Thomas. There are still parents out there who don't believe Thomas needs to copy other generic preschool shows in order for today's preschoolers to enjoy it.
Who knew the media would HELP US instead of HATE US? This is the teamwork crossover i like to see!
I am very happy to see parents and kids alike hate AEG, watching classic series episodes a few years ago got me got me into real trains.
Well, at least parents under the Modern British Empire like Brits, Kiwis, Aussies and Most of the Canadians. But Modern Americans on the other hand like it because they wanna make sure that Thomas is a baby show as possible. They liked All Engines Go because they never use trains anymore.

Mattel: *Sees figures have dropped further but completely ignore why they've dropped.* We haven't made it cartoony enough. We need to make it more cartoony.
*They create AEG. Backlash from children and parents alike is so vocal that it gets reported in the news.*
The people at Mattel are so out of touch with what makes Thomas work.
I think it got reported on because it's grown adults throwing temper tantrums over a literal preschool cartoon. Like most of the comments here.

The All Engines Go series is already being hated by literally everyone
I hoped this would happen
Not for me but I already an adult so idc about it
Bulstrode is appearing likely because of how much merchandise he gets and he's probably their main boat character, as for the reboot itself I find the stories to be okay not because of returnees but because they are genuinely watchable for me.
Though I don't know what to say either, they've already greenlit two seasons so there's no going back now. Will another reboot come in the future which is set in a format similar to the original series? Will the franchise just continue in merchandise?... To be honest the second option seems likely.
This just proves the classic style will always be loved by any generation either model or cg
Like a wise man once said “once the Americans got ahold of it, the whole brand would be ruined” well, Mattel is Chinese’s so………
And Wilbert Audrey’s predictions came true.
@Joshua W56 : Mattel: NOOOOOOOOOOO---------------
I'm not surprised that All Engines Go did backfired, like seriously I don't see how that babyfied version of Thomas is supposed to be appealing to kids or even adults.
Duke: “This will never suit his grace!”
Glad to see that the general public is standing up against this injustice to Thomas.

As a preteen boy, I loved the old feel of Thomas’ 1st and 2nd seasons.
Quick parents! Hide your kids from Thomas! Quick!
What’s hilarious is that we all saw this coming a mile away. It’s absolutely glorious how much Mattel has flopped on this, and now that it’s happened it brings a devious diesely smile to my face
I’m Gray, and I’m here to watch Mattel burn😁
We wouldn’t be at this stage if… Mattel had given the USA better distribution to the show- if they had continued the home media releases or put it on something like Netflix in 2016/17 perhaps rather than 2020 when the show was reaching its death.
Mattel wants us to believe the shows team were making kids lose interest in Thomas because they were bored of trying to make it appeal to families rather than just small children but that’s bulls**it it’s because they were not giving the show enough easy access to view it in America at least which is why it declined in sales.
I'm not usually one to take delight in a piece of media being so universally reviled.
But this... This does put a smile on my face.
Justice has been served

Beresford and other cranes introduced in CGI would provide ammunition to make all the CGI talking Thomas planes like Emerson and Isla become military jets as the Battle of Sodor would commence to bring down and defeat the evil Mattel guided by the spirit of the beloved Wilbert Awdry, Frankie, Hurricane, Theo, Lexi and Merlin would also join the side of Sodor against Mattel and its army of minions…
I can just see Lady, Mr Conductor and the rest of the minor characters from the model era being the first to let out the war yells and roars followed by obscure RWS characters and then Thomas and every single character featured throughout the cgi era from season 13 to BWBA including every underused international character.
(I'm taking about the sequels btw)
Hopefully the same will happen with Thomas with criticism like this.

The ONLY thing I like about it is Gordon and James' voices
who here agrees that Edward and Henry need a spin off show they are more part of us than Rebecca and Nia and it should Be CGI basically picking up where they left off when they left the steam team.
I am forever traumatized.
*because of the reboot of course*
Every time I hear about this I just cannot help but think that we owe the Sharon Miller era a HUGE apology sure it had it’s problems but even it wasn’t as bad as this.
If this doesn't wake Mattel up to the reality of their awful decisions, I don't know what will.
