exactly. thats my problem with it. when you get an open dunk on a fast break make it flasy. if your going to rim graze might as well do a lay up. i wanna see a self alley into a windmill. i wanna see some crazy 360 between the legs dunk. and even so they arent even really jumping to block her, just standing in her way.

Why are nine of these dunks contested? The clip at 0:58 has all defenders just standing still and you can also see the defenders celebrating when the opposing team dunks Like at 0:44-0:49. I'm not sure WNBA players know what defense is.

In all 3 timestamps it was the 4th quarter, and the game was already over. At 0:58 there was the defenders that did nothing cause they already won by 16 points. And at 0:44 close game but still the defenders did nothing cause they were already down by 5 and the other team could run out the clock but she instead went for a dunk. At 0:49 it was already a blowout over 20 points.
Also this happens a lot in the NBA where defenders will do not a damn thing and go right back to offense.

When I was in middle school in the 1990s I was in a small religious school who played in a basketball league with other small religious schools.
The basketball league had a no dunk rule. Several 8th graders in this very small league could dunk.

Things burn up when they re-enter earths atmosphere, not leaving it. Also that’s not what an orbit is. An orbit is the path a celestial object travels around when it is being affected by gravity. Also, there are plenty materials, natural and man made, that can withstand the heat of re-entry into the atmosphere. The natural ones were forged deep in the mantle, under hotter temperatures than when re-entering the atmosphere. The man made ones were created with those same materials. Never once did that comment have a single, intelligent thought out into it. You have the intelligence of a troglodyte if you genuinely believe that one of the greatest achievements of mankind was just made up. How would something of that scale be faked? It’s virtually impossible.

5,8 is above average heigh t for woman, so I don't see what the issue is.

people always say this, but I think half a foot is more reasonable. 9 foot rims are super short, I'm overweight, have bad knees and can dunk that rather easily. These professional females can't be worse than me.

Of those 8 women only one woman has ever dunked more than twice in her career and she was one of the tallest women in wnba history, 6'9 Brittney Griner, and she can BARELY graze the rim and only dunks on wide open fast breaks. No woman under 6'5 has ever dunked in a wnba game. 6 inches will not change much in terms of dunking. That is the size of a woman's hand, that's it. These women aren't just one hand length away from dunking in games lol. The tallest, fastest, highest jumpers in the league literally can't dunk unless it's a wide open fast break without anyone defending them and even then it only happens like once per season lol. 6 inches isn't going to take it from one dunker in wnba history (Griner) to suddenly being a league of high flying Vince Carters 😅😅😅. It'll just allow a handful of the tallest players to dunk a few times per season and that's about it.

Maybe there really isn't much dunking effort from players. There are volleyball players, NCAA and Pros, who have verticals of 10 feet and higher. There must be several basketball players who have 10'+ verticals as well. Come on ladies.

Me either. I’m 5’10 and could barely do it on an 8 foot goal. As far as a 10 foot goal, I have very rarely touched the rim, most times I hit the bottom or middle of the net and that’s it.

The irony is not lost on most viewers that the majority of the dunks are by 6’8 Brittany Griner who is, with little doubt, an actual dude. The ball is already smaller, might as well drop the rim to 9ft if we want to see more dunks and also attempt to curb the missed layup epidemic in the W.
