  • ** Disclaimer: there is some debate over the authenticity of Al-Ghazali's "original words" which have been tampered with since the 13th century. Please keep this in mind and take these words in this context. The meaning, of course, is more important.
Al-Ghazali (c. 1058 - 19 December 1111) was a Persian philosopher who was one of the most prominent and influential Muslim philosophers, theologians, jurists, and mystics of Sunni Islam.
Most Muslims consider him to be a Mujaddid, a renewer of the faith who,
according to the prophetic hadith, appears once every century to restore the faith of the ummah ("the Islamic Community"). His works were so highly acclaimed by his contemporaries that al-Ghazali was awarded the honorific title "Proof of Islam". Al-Ghazali believed that the Islamic spiritual tradition had declined and that the spiritual sciences taught by the first generation of Muslims had been forgotten.

I spent a year in a traditional Muslim seminary some years ago... Learning from my wise and revered teachers, cross-legged on the floors, alongside my fellow students.
In my early thirties at the time, the location being in a quite rural northern area in my country, Malaysia. Around us were hills, villages, paddy fields and rubber plantations. I enjoyed the fresh, pure air and the company of villagers speaking in their local dialects.
And, one of the classical works being taught us was by the great Al-Ghazali... Specifically, Minhaj Al-Abidin. Or the Journey of the Worshipper. Written in Arabic text but through the Malay language, it's nostalgic when I hear the poetry of Al - Ghazali now, through your calm and soothing tone... A beautiful work you're doing here, absolutely. Thank you deeply...

What resonated for me today was “never have I dealt with anything more difficult than my own soul which sometimes helps me and sometimes opposes me.” When it opposes me There is nothing but surrender!

As a Christian, I am in love with anyone who speaks of God in this way. God is one. Humans are divided by many false identities. I love you and your mystic wisdom with all my heart. One thing God is showing me through this channel is that all spiritual wise men speak the same way about God, the beloved, and about shunning worldly wisdom and wealth. Dying to the flesh, and dying to the world, causes our spirit to grow in faith, in unity, in spiritual wisdom, and in relationship with God.

“Each of your breaths is like a priceless jewel..”
Jayasara.. while listening to Eckhart (1) today in car (thanks for the download).. tears of gratitude flowed for your service to us.. full love for your peaceful, sure voice.
‘I’ am also an Aussie woman.. to hear the masters words in the female Aussie accent is something truly appreciated..! Why exactly? I’m not sure.. but it brings it all home in such a lovely and special way somehow ..

Don't pray, pray to whom? You're already the whole universum. Ask within. Accept yourself fully. Love yourself fully. Then you will see there is no seperation. Much love to you sister.

The love is extending beyond your channel on UA-cam, into the lives of each listener, and into the lives that each of us touch. Without a doubt my most important practice is to absorb this wisdom, first thing in the morning and last thing at night. My days are bookmarked by the truths you transfer. A great soul in my heart, may interest you named
    " Peace Pilgrim".
She walked across America for 20 years, without money or belongings, never asked for food or a place to sleep unless offered, only living on divine grace. She never wrote books but did give talks.

....”the happiness of the drop - to die in the river!”
The Happiness of the River - is to fall in the drop!
One Happiness?! - No One there .. to realize - IT !
    You are - That!
    I am - you!
Thank you - for the Love, what you truly are!
    Ich - liebe Dich!

I really like listening to the recordings on this channel. Some I like more than others, and the ones I like don't always come from the same religion as each other. That makes my mind boggle sometimes. They don't even agree on whether God exists or not, or whether enlightenment is possible, or whether there is a path worth following !

Jafar said: “The severed letters in the Qur'an are allusions to the Oneness and Individuality and Permanence and the Right of standing by Himself by dispensation of what is not Him. He said: ‘…the Existent…’, He Who no length is to His life and no limit is to His Existence.”
