@kizzmitten1 given how much leoniad gets paid, I'd say Brian would be able to get 50k a match, not as much as MMA but the "no brain concussion" part is what seals the deal imo
From what I've read the event was canceled then it was back on but without the strongman. The strongman event has been replaced with other fighters. Brian, Eddie, Mitch and Martyn will not be fighting. Finishers Championship sounds quite shady...
There has been a lot of speculation since December when Fury v Usky was announced. The fighters that have been confirmed over the past few days are far from world class, certainly no reason to watch let alone shell out for Pay-Per-View

Yup guys like him are the real losers here. Because he had no way to use it to monetize thru social media. The other guys still made money on fan interest.
It was doubtful that it would ever happen from day one. I already miss watching Brian lift heavy stuff. Eddie as well if im being honest, it's what he's really good at.
being that Brian and Eddie are no longer active strongmen, I had no issue with them taking part but I was very surprised that Mitchell Hooper signed given he has a very long career ahead of him.
@StrengthUniverse I have no issue with it either; just know they love the Sport of Strongman, and their fans miss seeing them compete. But yeah, the Hooper thing has people scratching their heads for sure.
As a top level current strong man competitor, I was surprised that Mitch Hooper was supposedly taking part? But I'm guessing large sums of money were promised, so difficult to turn down.

Me too mate, Mitchells decision to sign the contract made no sense unless, as you said a large some of cash was on the table.
Mitchel already said in previous interview he was really picky on going only on certain strongman competitions (like not going to Canada Strongman) because the risk vs reward was not worth it. Why risk an injury for something that doesn't pay. Him doing this fight make zero sense.

These guys shouldn't be encouraged to try and hurt each other, but if they like the idea of such entertainment they could probably run the show themselves and put any profits back into strongman.

You don't think the fact that Martyn has had to develop and maintain flexibiltiy, conditioning and a good degree of understanding marital artists for the movies he's featured in will have had any impact on these fights when compared to say Brian shaw?

Eddie does anything for clicks. I no longer follow him, last I heard he was doing bodybuilding videos but that fizzled out, into nothing……again.

It’s not the first time a martyn ford fight has not materialised. One minute it’s a lifelong dream of his which could easily be fulfilled, next minute it’s off. He was billing himself as a ksw fighter and appeared to be signed. He’s a salesman really and he does well at it. Hats off to him generating money from mugs.
Unlike his looks, Martin Ford seems to always pussy out whenever he has the chance to fight some other big dudes, while the other dudes are always up for it. Deep down he knows he doesn't want to risk serious injury getting punched in the head by a 400 pound giant, which is fine, but don't go making fake promises or set up fake events that will never happen, just be honest about it. For such a big man, he sure is acting like a little b*ch when push comes to shove lol.

I wanted to see eddie hall eat mitchell alive so bad. Eddie put thor on his ass a couple of times fighting WITH 1 ARM and in a boxing match where he was far less experienced Mitchell replied to my comment saying he wasnt worried after i pointed out too much muscle snd bulkiness can slow you down he was not gonna win that especially that eddie actually has a bit more of a fighters body.

@MojKanal-cz1iz thor fans are really clinging on to that one victory thor barely got on eddie while he had 1 arm. Tyson fury got knocked down by Francis then won and everyone is on Francis's side. Imagine if ngganou had 1 arm and did the same thing.
Yeah, I'm glad to see someone else see it. Sure, Thor won, but it really shows the nature of the Thor fans that they act like Eddie was humiliated. Thor won on points. If I remember correctly what the announcer said, Eddie had 54 and Thor 57. That's a close fight. Eddie didn't have one arm. He accidentally let slip in a podcast with Rob Moore that he could still use his injured arm to jab with. Yet in the fight he was completely nullified by Thor's jab
