When grew up till I was 12 in England then we went to Ibiza where I’ve lived ever since. The schools in the UK back then could be so rough. I hated school but despite being unable to speak Spanish back then I found the school here such a relief.. very strict, nice kids. I sent my girls to private schools but bullying went on even there by yep, English kids !!! . Ended up sending one to the local school which she loved. Now signed up for the British army .. I will miss her.

Many thanks for putting this on. Me and my brother appeared very briefly. Simon is sat right at the back in the first scene, that's Dillon Bradshaw in front of him.and I appear momentarily in the playground scene.
It was great to do. We all got fed really well and seeing the cameras and actors was great.
    Many thanks again. Andrew

Yes, he was. Unfortunately he dies when he was just over 50 years of age, perhaps 51. RIP.

Malcolm Terris is a prolific character actor, but it makes you feel old when you realise he in this is several years younger than you are now! :o

Malcolm Terris was the king of "wobble face" acting, as we can see here several times. He did much the same (but more exaggerated) in "Doctor Who : The Horns Of Nimon" two year before this.

Highly strung parents! Good episode. I don't remember much of Stephanie Turner's time in the show as I was very young at the time but she was very different from Anna's -seemed more Down to earth , personable but also knew when to be tough & firm.

My parents were the opposite. I got away with murder (not literally). Not sure which is worse.

Top episode, unsuprisingly produced by the old "Softly Softly : Task Force" mafia of William Humble, Leonard Lewis and Joan Clark. They knew how to make cop shows.

Spoke loads how the parents were, putting on so much pressure and the envelope sent at the end. Powerful and sadly sometimes true. Thanks for the wonderful series!

Were police like this? I'm going to sound like a 70 yr-old but some of us used to be proud of them. Slightly fewer automatic weapons

I've got a Latin 'O' Level certificate. I can't remember a damn thing about it. Not used it in 61 years. Oh me miserum ! My Dad didn't leave home until I was 16. It was a bit rough until the Social Assistance kicked in, we had something like a tub of Fry's chocolate spread, some beef dripping in a jar & bread for a few days for the 4 of us. That David at 35:20 has very poor Social Service & People Person Policing skills that the Missus didn't like. He's the station's Dirty Harry basically.

I was very disappointed that I couldn't learn Latin in my school (my dad had an O level in Latin, and could speak it very well).
I learned French and German and never found a use for either. Complete waste of time. Worked in horticulture - where Latin comes in very useful. It's also useful in medicine, a few of the sciences and law. So, it still has a place in school and should be an option.
Now they're teaching kids all sorts of languages. I worked at a junior school for a while, and they taught 3 languages to children as young as 4. They can barely speak English at that age.

Very one dimensional characters - the overbearing father, drippy mother, stroppy teenager, out of touch teacher, no nonsense sergeant and caring female inspector. More soap opera than police drama.
