It's good to see you learned the way how to clean up your land from locals and they teach you also which tree is valuable for furnitures and for house materials..now I can see your land is clean and cleared those trees that block the sunlight.its ideal now to plant corn and other vegetables such as string beans and eegplant. Good luck and God bless to both of you young couple ❤️
Good day, Darlyn and Boris it's amazing to see improvements within your property. Good thing if you can yearly prune branches of your fruit bearing trees after harvest. Will give you better and more fruits also it's easy to harvest. At the same time, prevent damage during typhoon season.
its okay to have mistakes its a part of growing up and be matures. sometimes in order to us to understand we need to experience it because because experience it is better than someone telling it to you. cheer up young couples slowly step its okay.
I learned from farmers that unless you intend to plant crops in the entire area, it would be ok to clear just the areas surrounding every coconut, cacao, coffee and other fruit trees. Also, it is important that trees that are good lumber material ( narra, mahogany, acadia) are preserved and allowed to grow bigger. If you have tibig trees near the waterways, don't cut them as these conserve water, and even help keep streams abundant with water.
what a great improvement! it’s much clearer and you can see the spacious space. It’s okay you can’t save all trees but you can start planting again. But it looks so spacious now- you guys should have a photo before and after. Soon you guys can start building a new village out there -- like the Russian village at Samal island. You guys should also connect with Filipinez - Russian family - his mom is so sweet like Boris mom. Take a break now and then - you guys did a great job, you both are very hard working! Ang lawak na tignan ! 👍
Looks like a lot of work, good exercise for you both. Can't wait to see what you grow on it in the future. In our farm in Bohol we grow bananas, cacao and coconuts. I'm thinking of starting a chicken farm in one area to grow wild chicken only.
I think it's good that you do the burning in your property. It is good to eradicate those weeds. Here in Australia, every year(before summer), we have a controlled burning, especially in the hills area. We are obliged to clean the surroundings within 20 metres from the property to avoid the bush fire. Overall, burning is good for the soil! New seeds/plants will grow.
Here in WA especially in Perth, you are not allowed to burn weeds or grass or anything into your property. you will get fined or be in jailed especially Australia is prone to bush fire every year. where do you live here in Australia?
My brother used narra for 2nd floor flooring and doors. He built his house when his children were still very young. Now its been more than 40 years and its beauty never faded. Still looks good as new.
1. You should make a "habit" to wear safety gears (gloves, safety) everytime you use equipments. 2. I suggest cut the trees already the area where you're planning to have your house to be built.
Darlene, much better na mag siga or burned only thorny plants but do not burn the woods, twigs and branches. Para maging rich and fertile yun lupa nyo. Sayang dahil mas dapat eh mulching ginawa nyo para hindi maging dry yun mga niyog pagdating ng summer. Pag nabulok yun mas magiging malusog mga hslaman nyo.

A lot of people have helpful comments. And that's okay. They will pick an d choose what appeals to them. When they first cleared a number of comments recommended burning as the best option. I appreciate that people who follow, care, and comment.

we have a lot also that we have to clear out all the 3ft tall grass and bushes. good advice to burn everything because of how fast everything grows and the snakes
Главное, чтобы Борис и Дарлин не впали в очередную ошибку - очищать всю территорию для того чтобы выбрать самое лучшее место для дома. Но это их выбор.
Try planting gemelina trees on 4 sides of your property. Since this tree is also used for furniture, you can sell matured gemelina to furniture makers.
Good time to produce charcoal. Build something out of those branches---benches, tables, etc. Boris knows carpentry and is capable of creating something from all those trees being cut down. Repurpose and recycle.
Having g wide land is an investment. There's nothing wrong buying that land do not listen to that worker idea they just made u discourage . Land is the big investment never depreciate.you are so lucky having that land one day u can sell it high price if you gonna sale it
boria and darlene just hired laborer and explain thier work they ,what to do because they are expert in cleaning in rhe first place the are farmers also..much easeir and less expenses.. dont worry we dont have bushfire in the philippines, now is rainy season also ...good idea ..
Oh you’re in Hinatia. Surigao. My mother is from Cantilan Surigao del Sur i grow up there but we moved Cebu when going high school. That’s a nice place .
It's good you listened to my suggestion about those drums where you burned those grasses and cuttings. In that place, we just burn those unnecessary. I don't believe the burning will destroy the environment, as long as what we burn are just leaves, twigs, and other natural wastes. Just make sure we don't cause bushfire. 😊❤🙋🏻♀️🙏🏼
Darlene all the cut branches can be use to secure your land as ur main post then secure with wire just to secure the whole around ur land since its already survyed the entire lot .save the cut branches 👍 be wise in all things all the materials is around U make it to be useful in your lot since urs beginners to develop it. Always wear protective clothing when you go to the farm to work. For Boris, wear a sock, safety shoes, long pants, long sleeves and hat. Also for you Darlene.. Always be safe. REMEMBER: All your efforts will amount into nothing if you hurt yourself or if you have any accident… Be careful always. SAFETY FIRST. Love watching your videos…
darlene... you need to have an agriculturist advice... use herbicide... so you will not have lots of grass to grow again... dead grass will decompose easily using herbicide... if you are just near to me i can help you give ideas on what to do your farm.
I'm a licence agriculturist. Burning is what most locals do during land clearing. Though in good agricultural practices (GAP) it isn't allowed. But burning also has benefits, 1. It is the Cheapest and fastest way in land clearing. It may not be ecologically healthy however it has also soil benefits as to sanitation, kills soil fungus and bacterial. The coil would hasten decomposition. It also scares predators/harmful animals away. Herbicide is also expensive. The systemic herbicide would prevent growth until six months however it has harsh effect on the soil. The chemicals can lead to soil acidifying effect and kills soil microbial activity.
My husband is a metsuri or lumberjack here in Finland. To cut the tree stumps you should use the chainsaw or pull the stumps with the use of tractor to pull it out from the ground. The blade you use for cutting (we call it raivaus saha in Finland) its only use for small sticks😅 not those bigger stumps like what you used it for
Well your idea is a very good for later when you work at your land as you making compost from ashes..as the woods has been burned to keep it safe for your trees and plants. You can keep it a small fire using the one you make. This fire you make it in the first time after they cutting the bushes is good to burn the hiding place of the snakes. My advice is don’t putting your hands so quick in bushes using a stick 🦯 avoiding unnecessary injury or some insects or snakes can hide in the leaves or bushes always bring 🦯 in your hand (stick ) as you walking around your land using boots 🥾 and gloves 🧤 too.😊
I wonder if the expenses after the land purchase will get near the price of the land? In other words: How much percent of the land price should we budget for additional work to make the land livable?
I think the two of you is becoming impulsive - just my opinion. You better hire experts to take care of things so as not to waste time , money and effort. You will get burned out doing all of it.
Advice: What you have just asked from workers is the 1st stage of "Kaingin" which is cutting grasses, ferns, trees, etc., the 2nd stage is burning them when dried but before burning, you need to clear the edges of your farm, about 1.5 meters with all the dried leaves and trunks and branches of trees by putting them near middle of your farm using rake, you need to do it so fire won't get out of your area; and 3rd stage which is the last phase in the "Kaingin System", is to clear the whole area or lot of unburned big roots and base of trees, you ask a knowledgeable person to do it ...when everything is done, your area is ready for use, either for planting or construction of a house ...
Please read about the illegal logging act in the Philippines. “Any person who is found to be in possession of a chain saw and uses the same to cut trees and timber in forest land or elsewhere EXCEPT as authorizated by the Department shall be penalized with imprisonment of six (6) years and one (1) day to eight (8) years or a fine of not less than thirty thousand pesos. “In the Philippines, you need to get permission if the tree is considered a tree species protected under the Philippine forestry laws.” Unfortunately, I’m afraid this video may be used against you if the DENR gets hold of it.
After fire those grass, prepare your soil for farming since it looks the soil is good for vegetable. Feed the soil first by using chicken manure (the old poop not the new or few weeks old poop) since you had grass cutter, cut those coming grass to maintain it clean. Don't cut those hard woods. Try to watch @anthonyjaballa how he start thier family farm, now they are starting small camp site besides thier fishpond. He continues and improved what his parents started. They grow egg plant, tomatoes, green chilies, string beans and other vegetables. And try to plants bearing fruits like lanzones, rambutan, mangosteen, calamansi. Watch his vlogg so you had idea And pls don't use grass cutter blade for small woods, remember that is for GRASS. make garden beds for the veggies first and put chicken manure so after a month you can start to grow.
Invite your neighbors to bring their cows and goats to work on the vegetation. You get free fertilizer. You can also use weed spray like Round-Up or equivalent. You can purchase them in most agricultural stores. You can ;ater plant Casavva / Kamoteng Kahoy. The inhibit growth of other weeds and soften the soil as well.
Just plant fruit bearing plants such as mangos specially carabao mango, bananas, papaya mangosteen, rambutan, lansones and durian, you also plant there calamansi and dwarf coconuts. Then, it is also good to plant vegetables. Pechay, string beans, eggplant, ampalaya, patola etc.
Oh NO, Dont cut the Narra. It's the most desirable type of wood and it's being protected right now. Narra is the hardest wood in the Philippines. It's our national tree. It's good for making furnitures. Our ancestral house in the provice is made of narra way before my dad was born. Even if my dad is already gone, the house is still standing strong. Your lot is looking nice already! Can't wait to see the projects you guys are going to do.
It can be done with a "controlled" fire. The land will also benefit from having the ashes as nitrogen for all the plants later. I believe that your workers know how to do the controlled fire.... in sections.
Now that you removed all the wild bushes. All you need to do now is use herbicide. Spray the grass and bushes that you like to kill. Just avoid spraying your vegies and fruit trees because they will die too. Everytime there is sprouting grass you can spray to stop them to grow. You can do it every 2- 3 months. Goodluck😊
Hello, may tanong sana ako, paano nyo nakita ang farm lot ninyo? Me and my husband are also looking for a farm lot somewhere in new corella ddn.but we dont know how to start.
Watch for other people who have big farms they make it as natural as it was. The place you choose have many snakes so how that's you need more advice from people who are experts on such terrain and location.

yung mga narra wag niyo putulin its expensive tree at maganda siyang shade yung mga dahon niya maganda
Right Narra is a very ecpensive tree
good morning
Oh NO, Dont cut the Narra. It's the most desirable type of wood and it's being protected right now. Narra is the hardest wood in the Philippines. It's our national tree. It's good for making furnitures. Our ancestral house in the provice is made of narra way before my dad was born. Even if my dad is already gone, the house is still standing strong. Your lot is looking nice already! Can't wait to see the projects you guys are going to do.
Please always use eye protection when using mechanical equipment coz of flying debris
Дарвина,какая же ты" сладкая девочка! Как ты похожа на мою внученьку.Обожаю тебя. ФРАНЦИЯ
Hello. Try joining groups po na buy and sell and sa Marketplace din dun po kami nagsimula mag hanap 😊.
Suggestion, you have to hire worker to maintain your land year round.....but not as tenant. Nice tools.
Thank you very much. That's actually our plan ❤️.
Watch for other people who have big farms they make it as natural as it was.

Don't waste those woods. Save them for firewood. You can stock them beside your house.
