I noticed he said don't normalize the 808 becuz it takes away from the hit. I use FL 10 and the normalize function actually makes my drums louder when I turn it on. All of my recent beats have normalized drums
Hello, an important thing that I realized is that you did not use kicks in the beat. Could you answer if it is necessary or not to use kicks in these phyrex type beats?
If you have an 808 with a noticeable transient you can choose to not use a kick. It’s up to you. There’s no rules lol. Some producers use kicks for some beats and not for other beats use your ear.
