This is also used when the hero of dragon quest xi understands that his quest may be not over, but he saved his world by going back in time and preventing the destruction caused by mordegon, saving uncountable lives including Veronica's... He looks at the sun (cause it was gone after mordegon destroyed ygdrasil) and this plays... And at the drop he starts going with his horse... Peak moment!
So glad I'm not the only one who found that moment so special. The most memorable non-cutscene moment in the game that gave me shivers despite not knowing where the music even came from. The bittersweet opening also fits the mood perfectly because you just "saved" the world (again), but you also just left all your friends and family behind in another time. You also realize this new time needs heroes to save it as well.
I saw a reaction of Japanese people going wild. One went Crying, One broke a chair, and One just went LOTO LOTO EVEN LOTO IS HERE!!! Dragon Quest is the SHONEN JUMP of Video Games. Thank you Toriyama-San, Horii-San, and Sugiyama-San for creating this franchise. It's been 35 Years since the Famicom release. And thank you Sakurai-San for Inspiring me to play Dragon Quest! From the Philippines
The version of this theme in the Smash trailer was -actually the one from the Super Famicom ver. suite (by the London Philharmonic Orchestra), but- this particular version heralds perhaps the moment in a certain later game where I was like "Oh man... I'm nowhere NEAR done with this game, am I?" (Edited cause I was mistaken.)
If the London Suite was used it would’ve been credited, which it wasn’t. At the end of the trailer only the Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra is credited for music. But yes I do agree this version is powerful.
@@frenquencie Now that I listen closely, I was mistaken and you're right. Perhaps the main reason I thought it was the other version was because it was hard to find the TMSO version of the song in general; most uploads I could find were of the LPO version, and the same went for much of DQIII's Symphonic Suite (which was very annoying when trying to find the exact songs that were used in DQXI, lmao).
@@FieraDevilWings yeah, big or small these suites have differences which is why my goal is to upload the most I can! They’re all awesome in their own ways.

fr walking out of Heliodor and your horse running up to you just felt super majestic!!!!
