Thanks for the comment. I wish I was still making videos also the last six years has been a strain on me I got a new job promotion with a lot more responsibility and I have went through a divorce hopefully one day I will get back to the videos I have a new shop that’s 1200 square-foot . So I’m not nearly as cramped as I was in my old videos
Excelente reparación. Hay muchas personas que hubiesen botado ese rin para chatarra, pero lo reparaste y quedó perfecto y listo para seguir usando. Comparar el precio de esa reparación con lo que cuesta un rin nuevo y vale la pena.
I have tractors from the 1935-1975 era. Most of them from 1940's. So I have several rims to fix. Thanks for showing how to do it, using 3 diff rolls. Bottom, top, and side angle. Now, all I need to do is figure out how to home make a little, foot wide roller, to help out on the project. Wonder what, or where I can get the roller material. Could it be as simple as using thick pipe, to roll that thickness of steel. What gauge was that you used?
@@janbill79 I used 10 gauge or pretty close to 1/8 of an inch and you can definitely roll it around a piece of pipe or your knee or something like that. It’s just easier to overbend the radius and then just mash it down and it will follow the contour of the wheel perfectly
I've got a Minneapolis Moline rim that is in bad shape. Pitted but no holes. Have you heard of anyone filling in the pitting? I have some fuel tank rubber liner treatment that I am thinking of using.
Nice job Billy, thanks for showing how its done. I took in a few pointers for the time I will do my Massey Ferguson spin out rims.
Nice video. Precision welding at its finest. Wish you were still making more videos

Thanks for the video. After I watch it, I went out and repaired my tractor rim the same way. Worked out great. Thanks again.

My shop is so tight I have to go outside to turn around! Dale
Job well done! Looking forward to watching more quality videos in the future.
Hey Billy!!! I have the exact same problem with a 26" ARAYA vintage bicycle steel rim. Could it be fixed this way?
You should be able to give it a try

blackseabrew I believe it would work. I’ve heard of people using roll On bedliner and had good success out of it 👍🏻
Good looking repair. How many hours do you think you had in it?
About 2-2.5 hours.not too much time..thanks for the comment
What does it cost to fix a rim like that?
250$
Thanks, getting ready to do the same for my 8N
What plasma cutter do you use? Thanks
It is a thermodynamic 50
A thousand dollars is a lot of money to shell out, so how much did this job cost the owner for this repair? You've got a lot of work into this.
$400 for the repair.. this repairs took about three hours if I wasn’t making a video
Superb job there. Well done 👍
"Made me sweat like chicken grease" lol. Nice work.

No shit you have the Abom79 T' shirt on. nice!
Nice Abomb79 t-shirt!
Too bad you're not close by. I've got 2 rims that look to be the exact same type with some rust flaking off.
I'd be curious what the bill for that was. Just seeing if it was an economic choice for the owner
Langstraat Farms 200$
@@trkycustoms I bought two new rims for my 8n for $324 including shipping. One was bad but I bought two in case the other is.
@@joebrunette5594 Where did you get your rims? I need one for my B275!
@@dtm8073 I bought them from Yesterday's Tractors and they are well made and made in America. I just bought then a few months ago.
@@joebrunette5594 Thanks for the quick reply. Just checked it out and they don't ship to Canada.
Nice work. Amazed you can get a farmer to pay to have work done! Not saying they a bit tight but not known for being happy to pay for things!
