The Dark Angels of KPop. 7 Members, 7 Vocals, 1 Rapper and two members who can rap as well. They mix rock elements, dark synth, sometimes even Jazz elements to something what can be called „Classic“ KPop.
This is still within K-Pop..but the genre is called 'DreamCatcher Genre'. It's almost similar to Nu-Metal in Metal world, but what makes it unique is DreamCatcher Genre is like a chameleon, always changing & evolved into something else.
Dreamcatcher is one of those groups who are best experienced blind mostly because of how they defy the expectations people have of them from non kpop fans and kpop fans alike. It’s a nice surprise and an absolute ball whenever somebody goes in expecting another bubblegum pop girl group. I’m sure some InSomnia like luring in non fans who’d be apprehensive by saying they make rock fusion music and have a dark concept, but I’m the type of person who’d ask others to react with no context other than that they’re my favorite kpop group. What’s even funnier is introducing somebody who knows Dreamcatcher to Minx. Five of Dreamcatcher’s members used to be part of Minx. Minx provides a lot of context for how Dreamcatcher were conceptualized. It’s critical background information that helps fans appreciate the members’ journey even more. I think the genre of this song is best described as Dark Techno and Industrial Rock. Dreamcatcher have taken on many different genres, but what stays consistent is their utilization of rock music in the title tracks. Other than the title track, the rest of the album is a playground of sorts. They experiment with new sounds and try new genres with their bsides. Sometimes their following title tracks are influenced by these little experiments. For example, fans liked Silent Night so much Dreamcatcher’s producers decided to fuse that genre with rock to create Scream.
These girls innovated their own genre within K-Pop. They’re more rock-oriented than anyone else in the K-Pop Industry. Basically they experiment with EDM and Pop with Rock and Metal as the basis. The best part (apart from their singing/dancing talent) is their concept. Basically 98% of their albums are concept albums. Every three-to-five albums comprise a storyline with single EP’s in between story cycles. This particular song is the second in their Apocalypse trilogy. This trilogy tells the story of a post-Apocalyptic wasteland with the girls freeing the oppressed survivors in this song. The song before this released in January called Maison is the story of them fighting against the heads of the society that caused the ruin of the planet.
Nice reaction. This is a soo amazing and great song ! I keep getting goosebumps all over my body. The more I listen, the deeper and deeper I fall in love with this VISION. Stan Dreamcatcher ! 👍 Thanks.
Okay so Dreamcatcher is touching on a subject, but here is a summary of what's happening: MAISON is the first song in the Apocalypse trilogy. VISION is the second. You don't have to watch them in order. MAISON was about how people around the world are destroying the planet and they bring awareness to global warming and climate change, the pain we inflict on the Earth by using harmful ways of harvesting it's resources, and how they are trying to beg people to please save and protect our MAISON(Maison is french for home or house) because this is the only one we have. VISION continues where MAISON left off. They are battling against climate change and this song is now a call to action rather than a plea for help. They are going to fight this with or without help, but having that help makes all the difference in making sure 'this beautiful place' is saved and we can all live on it if we all work together towards the same goal.
Welcome to the Dreamworld! Dreamcatcher are very unique. They are the dark angels of Kpop and the only girl group who consistently incorporate Rock and Metal in their title tracks, fusing that with Kpop into something that basically is a new genre. They also are drenched in horror and social criticism, which again is special. Plus, they are massively talented, all of them. And while the girls look like they could rip out your spine when they are on stage, off stage they are adorable crackheads. 😉 "Vision" is part 2 of the Apocalypse trilogy. I believe they are showing us the perspective from the future in this series, showing us how the earth looks like when we keep acting like we do. While "Maison" was talking about the destruction of the environment, here they seem to be talking about the destruction due to war. I don't know if that was the idea from the beginning, but Putin's aggression definitely played a role here. In one set they even dance in front of what looks sort of like a huge trident, which is the coat of arms of Ukraine (could be a coincidence though, or I'm seeing things). It is easy to see how the conflict in Ukraine could result in global destruction. It's just a push of a button away. Note that Dami presses a launch button, but it's not for nukes. It's for spreading their message, their vision. Peace. To be heard all around the world. The song is also a call for action, to stand together against aggressors and those who are destroying the planet out of greed. There is not much difference between someone leading an army or a corporation, if the result is destruction. Still, Dami said the intention is to resolve the problems in a peaceful way. So, what do we do? There is no easy answer. Dami has an outfit that shows that perfectly. One half is an innocent bridal dress, the other half is simply badass. What I know is that any aggressor only listens to very limited diplomacy, and they need to know that the good in the world is ready and willing to fight them if needed. Whoever the aggressor is, we are more than them. They need to know they will never succeed, the only option is peace. By the way, my interpretation could be completely wrong, any other theory is perfectly valid as well. Musically, it's heavier than Maison, and I feel it fits the subject matter very well. It sounds aggressive and heavy, but also soft and vulnerable. There is the duality again. And I love the fake keychange at the end of the chorus, the crazy bass and the guitar in the bridge. All in all this is a fantastic release!
A defining feature of kpop is fusing different genres together in one song, usually pop or R&B + rap, with pop vocals on top. All you can do is identify what got fused together. Dreamcatcher were the first to make rock/metal fusion with dark/scary concepts their identity and paved their own road in the business. They are ALL vocals (the rapper also sings the 2nd chorus when they're taking out guys with lightning). They mix vocal colors alternating soft or resonant with the cutting and piercing tones of different members for extra impact. Three have official rap positions but the Main Vocalist is also a really good rapper. There is too much talent (and hard work).
Jump in blind! Do what you do! Matters not. Dreamcatcher will catch your soul and do what they do, and your journey is all that matters :) Welcome to the Dreamworld. Let's get Dreamcatcher their Victory for their Vision of Peace! ✌✌
Vision is the title track for album [Apocalypse: follow us]. This album is the second album for Apocalypse series, the first album was [Apocalypse: save us], with the title track Masion. The Apocalypse series talks about global warming and environment issues. In the track Masion, they sing about protecting our 'Masion'(which means home in French), they urge people to break their habit and save our home(save us), declare war to the people who mindlessly pollute the enviornment. But, they realize that doing war with those people only makes the situation worse, so they use a more peaceful way. They show their 'vision' to people about how we should do to stop environmental problems, spreading their vision and tell us to follow their vision(follow us). Apocalypse series is a trilogy, so the next album will finish the story line. Their previous story lines were the Nightmare saga, and the Dystopia trilogy(about online hate and verbal abuse)
You absolutely won't regret following these women. I'd recommend reacting to their previous MVs in chronological release order for the best experience, but honestly every song is also a banger individually. Edit: You're correct that there are 7 members, and that DC's concepts are usually dark. This track has been self-described as "dark techno," and critic-described as "nu-metal." The message of this song is obviously very open to interpretation, but the theme of their current project (the Apocalypse Trilogy) is saving the world. Fans have two main theories for the bigger theme in this track--either that it's a continuation of their last track about saving the world from environmental decay where now they've gone from asking people to save their world to demanding people get up and fight; or that it's an anti-war track about how war and fighting is another way in which the planet is being destroyed. Both seem like they could apply. But your interpretation of it being a motivational track to _generally_ get people off their butts and follow Dreamcatcher's example as they chase their dreams sure seems to fit in given that the album is called _Apocalypse: Follow Us._ Never feel bad about theorizing; DC's music reaches people with all kinds of messages. For what it's worth: 2:04 is Yoohyeon ("you-(h)yuhn"), a vocalist and dancer. 2:09 is Dami ("dah-mee"), the main rapper and a vocalist. 2:14 is SuA ("soo-ah"), the main dancer, a rapper, and a vocalist. 2:24 is JiU ("jee-(y)oo"), the leader, eldest, a vocalist and dancer. 3:10 is Siyeon ("she-yuhn"), the main vocalist. 3:13 is Handong ("han" rhymes with "can" and "dong" rhymes with "song"), a vocalist. 3:20 is Gahyeon ("ga-(h)yuhn"), the youngest, a vocalist and rapper. So to answer your question, yes they're all singers, and yes multiple members rap.
You weren't too far off with your interpretation, you honed in on the right idea. Dreamcatcher likes to focus on specific social issues with each release, and this and the release before it were about the need to combat climate change, talking about how it will lead to the Apocalypse (the name of this EP) if we do nothing. The idea here is that they will inspire people to fight for the world-giving them a Vision-and that the pain the fight causes us is worth it to save the world. In the US this would probably be called categorized with Industrial Rock or Industrial Pop due to the heavy, distorted synths mixed with those crunchy distorted guitars. It also could be considered Nu-metal due to the mixture of rock and rap elements. Most of their music is still technically "pop" by the way it's written, but incorporates instrumentation from other genres like rock, metal, nu-metal, and industrial
They are they own genre... Dreamcatcher genre. they have 3 rappers and 4 low -key rappers. You can chech Maison, Odd Eye, Boca, Scream and Deja Vu. After that, you will not be able to escape. And you wont need to.
Wait until you watch part 1 MAISON MV to understant the story. Btw, VISION is part 2 of of the ongoing Apocolypse Trilogy, which about saving our planet ✌️
They are promoting thos song as "Dark Techno with a rock sound" but it's literally industrial rock lol This is a group that don't really stick with only one genre. They have metal, jazz, trance, pop and many other genres. For their tittle tracks they usually do a more rock-ish sound just like this one they made an industrial rock song. They have a song called BOCA that is a blend of reagaton with metal in the chorus part. (sorry dor any typo, english is not my first language).
Going in blind or not, Dreamcatcher will still take you by surprise. They are still under kpop, but also very different from the typical kpop so as the other commenter mentioned, the best way to describe the genre is Dreamcatcher genre. This song/mv is 2nd part of the apocalypse lore, and things will get much more make sense if you check the first part: Maison.
Dreamcatcher has their own genre. They have metal and rock influences, not in all of their songs but in most of them, they have crazy coreography and they sound the same live. This video is part of a storyline, as all their videos and albums! I suggest to react to Odd Eye or Dejavu or, if you want to start from the beginning ( first single, start of a storyline) go for Chase Me and Good Night.
If you like Dreamcatcher, check out this girl group (band) MV called Rolling Quartz - Holler MV ua-cam.com/video/YmOrSdAzRfE/v-deo.html ( K- rock band) thanks for your reaction 😄
A Powerful ⚡Vocalist that can reach Your Mind , A Powerful ⚡Vocalist that can reach Your Heart ♥ , A Powerful ⚡Vocalist that can reach Your Soul , The Legendary Dreamcatcher Siyeon is Main Vocalist of All Time and All Vocalists , no Vocalist from Past , Present and Future has that Power ⚡, that Fire 🔥 and that Magic ✨
Every song can be understood as we want, that's for sure. but officially this song is a part of their last trilogy ("Apocalypse" has two parts at the moment, Maison from the album "apocalypse: save us" and this one from the album "apocalypse: follow us") which is about global warming and some other social issues. In Maison they want us to protect the environment, now in this song they start demanding it and fighting for it like some kind of rebellion. The "vision" they give to us is the future of our planet and the reason we all should fight against the villains in this case (big companies that pollute, governments, etc).
Thanks for your reaction! I know the translated lyrics can be tricky to work with sometimes, but I think you got the jist of it anyway. My interpretation of Vision is that it’s about fighting for the future, and how your vision for the future will only become more difficult to realize the longer you put it off. The video frames it in a militaristic, anti-war context (if you want peace tomorrow, you need to fight for it today), but you could apply the lyrics to quite a few contexts.
If you want a fun double feature to get just how great Dreamcatchers storytelling abilities. Check out Deja Vu! Which is from their album Raid of Dream which was a video game collab with Kings raid. Then check out the Channel BookishTheories breakdown of the video and song. Loved your reaction and I think this combo be right up your alley.
Dreamcatcher is the Dark Angels of Kpop. Very talented 7 women, all can sing and dance phenomenally. They have made their own genre inside of Kpop!! Won't overwhelm you with too much and im sure there wil be other coments about them but basically this song is part of their Apocalypse series. When they put songs out they like to have a bigger picture and story/meaning behind them. The previous title track in the album right before this one "Maison" was about global warming and this song Vision has an anti-war message. Thier Dystopia series was a trilogy with the 3 tittle songs being Scream, Boca and Odd Eye, being about "speak no evil hear no evil see no evil" And before that they had the Nightmare series wich goes back to their debut with each member representing a nightmare I believe. The music videos are a continuing story. I would recommend you check out Maison since its the one before this and then the Dystopia trilogy!!! But my personal favs are Deja Vu, Breaking out (Japanese song) and BEcause.
Vision is their 2nd chapter of APOCALYPSE. 1st one is Maison. it's about Earth conservation. they are the rock kpop group. they are my top girl group bcos of the rock aspect and live vocals are great. pls react to EXO, they are older group and hailed as Vocal Kings of KPOP
I highly recommend Dreamcatcher scream or Dreamcatcher odd eye and a potential next reaction. If you want to get the story i would do scream first because that is the first inna trilogy of 3 songs.
Trying to classify Dreamcatcher within a single genre is an impossible task. They are their own genre, nothing sounds quite like Dreamcatcher. Welcome to the Dreamworld my friend! It's the rabbit hole within the K-pop rabbit hole, from which there is no escape, only the soothing light of the glorious seven. Love the reaction, it's always nice to see someone hear Dreamcatcher for the first time!
Welcome to Dreamland to our potential new Insomnia (fandom name) lol. Dreamcatcher is a Kpop rock group! Their music and storylines are beautiful, dark, detailed, magical, amazing....i can continue. OUR BEAUTIFUL DARK ANGELS OF KPOP!
even without knowing the storyline, your interpretation is not wrong!!! is actually pretty close and, really, music and art in general can have multiple interpretations
If you like Dreamcatcher (it seems like you did), please do yourself a favor and check out their tracks Scream, Boca and then Odd Eye. It's best if done in that order as those three songs together tell 1 bigger story. They're so good though!
They are interesting, very talented looks like. Great reaction .. you have grown so fast, I was your 47 subscriber now you are at near 8k ..of course I was on your first twenty one pilots song lol
Maybe think of them as a cross between Linkin Park and Evanescence (at least for the title tracks). Some people also compare them to Within Temptation (Symphonic metal). They have a decently sized metal head following for a kpop group.
Thank you for the reaction and for giving Dreamcatcher a chance! Glad you enjoyed them! As everyone here will tell you, they are one of the most unique groups you are going to experience in k-pop. It's difficult to put them into a specific genre because they tend to fuse a bunch of them together, especially over the past three of their five years as Dreamcatcher. The only thing you can expect from Dreamcatcher title tracks is the inclusion of some form of rock. Even then, you don't know what type of rock it's going to be or how it is going to be woven into the sound. Now, as for their b-sides, you can fit those more into specific genres. However, their b-sides cover so many different genres. Honestly, running through their discography is an awesome experience. In regards to the meaning, you actually figured out their general message with most of their songs. In this case, there is a lot more going on than that as well since this is part of a story arc. Anyway, yeah, the general message of a lot of their songs over the years has been to stay true to yourself and forge your own path even in the face of adversity or criticism for breaking the mold. Don't let anything hold you back! Catch your dreams! Thanks again for the Dreamcatcher love! Hope you get to check out some more of their stuff. People will probably recommend the first part of this current trilogy, "Maison", as well as their Dystopia trilogy, "Scream", "BOCA", and "Odd eye". Threw you a sub and a like! Welcome to the Dreamworld!
Welcome to the world of Dreamcatcher's fandom called InSomnia for you, bro. Greetings from InSomnia of Indonesia branch😁 FYI, the correct sequences from their mv are like this : A. NIGHTMARE ARC 1. Chase Me (their first released mv after their re-debut as Dreamcatcher, but chronologically this is the second after the Fly High mv) 2. Good Night 3. Fly High (the prequel of all the stories in their mv chronologically) 4. You and I 5. What 6. Piri B. NON-RELATED MV 1. Deja Vu (this mv is a soundtrack from a video game called King's Raid) 2. R.o.s.e Blue (this mv is also a soundtrack for a video game called Girl Cafe Gun) 3. BEcause C. DYSTOPIA TRILOGY 1. Scream 2. Boca 3. Odd Eye D. APOCALYPSE TRILOGY 1. Maison 2. YOOHYEON (유현) real name - kim yoohyeon (김유현) 6. DAMI (다미) real name - lee yu bin (이유빈) 7.GAHYEON (가힌) real name - lee gahyeon (이갛힌) Broo nekt song (scream)+(boca)+(odd eys)
you actually weren't all that far off with your interpretation of the song! dreamcatcher oftentimes base their title tracks off of current issues (their song "boca" was released when cyberbullying was an enormous issue in south korea). a lot of people have said that this song is likely an anti-war commentary (because of russia and ukraine), with all the saluting, giving others visions of a better future and reflecting on the past history. i HIGHLY recommend checking out their songs "goodnight", "endless night" and "odd eye" though! (also react to nct! there IS a lot of members, but they're actually broken up into sub-units! check out their song, "resonance" if you want to see them all together!)
If you want to hear more harder song than this, then I STRONGLY (and I repeat it again : STRONGLY) suggesting you to see this mv. This is a song called Poison from a girl group named Pink Fantasy (link video : ua-cam.com/video/ZquXNjEtPPo/v-deo.html) The song is waaaayyyyy more harder, and I'm sure you will be totally shock as hell when you hear it. You don't believe me? Then go see it for yourselves, I DARE YOU. Once again, greetings from InSomnia of Indonesia branch😎🤟
The Dark Angels of KPop. 7 Members, 7 Vocals, 1 Rapper and two members who can rap as well. They mix rock elements, dark synth, sometimes even Jazz elements to something what can be called „Classic“ KPop.
3 Rappers
@@handel1111 Yes, but only Dami is rapping constantly in nearly each song, SuA and Gahyeon switch up from time to time
Dont forget Siyeon, "the fastest rapper in kpop"
they can all rap. handong, jiu, yooyheon , siyeon has some intance they rap on their covers. but with their songs, its dami, sua and gahyeon.
I like them but Dark Angels is cringe af, ngl.

dark techno with rock/metal sound. Dreamcatcher always bring the dark concept and rock/metal to their song...🔥

Welcome to one of the most unique sounds in kpop! Dreamcatcher always rocks out!
This group is just absolutely amazing for real.
There is no other way just going in blind. Let the music speak for itself.
They also have lore like TOP but with a different story. Insomnia and clique let's go!!!
For Insomnias, I like when he was doing Odd Eye listening to Vision 3:34. Deukae really have created their own private pocket in the business.

the most unique KPOP groups one of the best vocal line with MAMAMOO and i agree the dark angel of kpop for sure .

Thank you for your reaction and Dreamcatcher is always the best~~~!!
If you love rock and wanna listen to K-Pop? Dreamcatcher is the only answer😂🔥
Dami was looking so ethereal!
welcome to dream world man
Dreamcatcher has their own genre.
I recommend you ... very thanks for reaction.
드림캐쳐~~~화이팅!!!
If you like Dreamcatcher, check out this girl group (band) MV called Rolling Quartz - Holler MV
ua-cam.com/video/YmOrSdAzRfE/v-deo.html ( K- rock band) thanks for your reaction 😄

Dreamcatcher are the Justin Tucker of kpop, they don't miss.
I love this comment!! lol
Any first time ever reaction to Dreamcatcher is always a treat for all of us.
This is part two from last comeback (Maison MV)

Ok. I liked and Subscribed. Next Dreamcatcher reaction secured? :)
I love your interpretation!
DREAMCATCHER ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥 They all sing, all rap, all dance and they all steal your Heart ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
You should react to dreamcatcher "Boca" , "Scream" and "BEcause"
I love the little dance you are making in i'll give you vision part. Thanks for reacting to my girls, i hope to see them again in your channel
Thier Dystopia series was a trilogy with the 3 tittle songs being Scream, Boca and Odd Eye, being about "speak no evil hear no evil see no evil"
And before that they had the Nightmare series wich goes back to their debut with each member representing a nightmare I believe.
A TRUE reaction IS blind, huh? YOUR channel, YOUR rules!😁✌️❤️🔥🔥🔥🎶🎶🎶💯🤷♀️ I'll be here!🤗🌈🦄🥳I'm just an old lady discovering NEW music too!🤪
dreamcatcher the best!!! 🇧🇷🇧🇷
Dreamworld *
I've been watching youre blackpink reaction. Good to see that you decided react to Dreamcatcher..
even without knowing the storyline, your interpretation is not wrong!!! is actually pretty close and, really, music and art in general can have multiple interpretations
OT12 Always 🌹,
MINX have my Heart ❤,
Dreamcatcher have my Soul ✨✨
If you listen to Maison this Song will make a lot more sense!!!:D
Welcome to the Cult!

Bro love your videos dreamcatcher is amazing check out more videos they are so talented check out scream, boca, odd eye
PLEASE ... REACT TO DREAMCATCHER - SCREM !!!!!!
you actually weren't all that far off with your interpretation of the song! dreamcatcher oftentimes base their title tracks off of current issues (their song "boca" was released when cyberbullying was an enormous issue in south korea). a lot of people have said that this song is likely an anti-war commentary (because of russia and ukraine), with all the saluting, giving others visions of a better future and reflecting on the past history. i HIGHLY recommend checking out their songs "goodnight", "endless night" and "odd eye" though!
(also react to nct! there IS a lot of members, but they're actually broken up into sub-units! check out their song, "resonance" if you want to see them all together!)
Boca
please react to ateez - guerrilla
If you want to hear more harder song than this, then I STRONGLY (and I repeat it again : STRONGLY) suggesting you to see this mv. This is a song called Poison from a girl group named Pink Fantasy (link video : ua-cam.com/video/ZquXNjEtPPo/v-deo.html)
The song is waaaayyyyy more harder, and I'm sure you will be totally shock as hell when you hear it. You don't believe me? Then go see it for yourselves, I DARE YOU.
Once again, greetings from InSomnia of Indonesia branch😎🤟
More dreamcatcher please
