It's amazing how many kids all around the same age lived in four block radius of that park back in the 80s early 90s. Anyone recall the "War Pig corner" dig project @ Potomac & Jefferson???, Curley St. milk jug soccer / East Baltimore Guide battles on 500 block North Curley St?, Paulo running laps? Scatter in the court?, Snowball battles against Streeper St? It's hard to see Ellwood as a bad place with so many fond memories. I'll always love that place.
I grew up in the SE District of Columbia, The Original Anacostia District of Working Class people with Freedom, not Possession & Property of, but People of Colour, obtaining ownership of things that they could have pride in (homes, autos, EDUCATION, jewelry, my granddad wore tailored 3 piece suits in the 1940's, Frederick Douglas was an Anacostia homeowner! ) The nations capital built two buildings that were apartment flats, one was a ghetto, when I went to Stanton Elementary school, on Irving Place & Irving St. It was abandoned apartments bricks, homeless people (who were in need of a roof over head did what they had to do to survive ) crime, drugs, gangs. My point is, they let it go to shit! I'm heart broken every time I go home to SE prisoners in their own homes. If something goes down, if they want to respond IDK, but the response time is slow. My rental car windshield got damaged late one evening, these A-holes, called my cellphone @ 1:45 the next afternoon. I had to go back to BWI, Hertz, was trying to have me make payment for the damage. WTF, they couldn't call me when it happend? You're ass didn't have any intention of showing the fuck up. Lazy assess probably were on social media, IG, Fakebook an excuse & your bullshit! I got things to do! (I know TMI, so fucking what) (sorry Mrs. Bennett, Campbell AME, Mrs. LEE, MRS. RAYFIELD,& ECT. FOR MY FILTHY MOUTH ...
