    I can see a 4x8 CNC machine in the future at this shop. Batch out the same art multiple times and save lots of mistakes and bits. Makes sense to me anyway. LOVE the work gentlemen love the work.

      Thanks Curtis! However, I don't think we'll be getting a CNC anytime soon. Our whole philosophy is that hand carved work has more value and love in it than machine made work.

    Ask Dave to do 1/4" bevel on the glass and see what you guys think. Old wrought iron tables would have 1/4" beveled glass on them. It adds just a little extra flare to overall look. Nice job on the table. What would you price something like this at?

    That table is amazing! One word of advice I would offer.. your featherboard should always end before the blade, it has the potential to cause the wood to pinch on the blade where you have it positioned.

    how did you mount the glass top? is it just set in there or did you use little tabs or feet? is it secured in or sealed around the edges?

    • @oldave100
      @oldave100  2 місяці тому +1

      It's just set inside the frame. It's not sealed around the edges because that creates condensation under the glass in temperature changes.

    I’ve a question! Thigh the screw so much, isn’t dangerous for wood movement? Wood expand and contract and having those screw so thighs I guess it can crack

    • @oldave100
      @oldave100  2 місяці тому

      No it should be good. Based on what Andrew has done and shown us, it keeps the board from moving but doesn't split the wood

    1st horse, looks like some of the nose is missing, the shiny effect on the horses back is missing and part of the rear hoof is missing on the second horse. 3rd horse is missing nose holes... it can't breathe lol... You asked for us to find stuff. Table looks great!

    It looks like all your end grain is smiling the same direction. Alternate smiles and frowns. As wood dries it wants to straighten out. Quarter sawn wood is best to use. Also you're correct, you definitely don't want metal shavings in your eyes. You would have to get verified that theres no metal in your eyes if you ever need an MRI, it happens a lot if you're a welder.

    • @oldave100
