This album is honestly my favorite ever. Hands down. Not only do I relate to every song, but the timing was perfect on all fronts. Worship.
You know how the vast majority of songs have the purpose to induce specific emotions? Make you pumped, make you sad, make you joyous. My reason why this is the best track of the album is because it takes you on a whole rollercoaster.
-At first, it's sadness and grief about losing someone, someone, who doesn't love you as much as you do.
-Then, it's blissful anguish, the blissful ignorance of enjoying something that's hurting you. You ascend with those feelings, therefore, the uplifting explosion.
-Then it's anger (You're gonna watch me ascend), I'll get over you!!! And the rage about is self-helplessness to not give into the blissful ignorance.
-Then it's acceptance and determination to change, even spite (I'll take what I want, then leave).
-And after that, an explosion of anger and confusion, facing the fact that it's not over yet and it's hard to ascend and overcome, frustrated scream (You make me wish I could disappear). Cause the only way to get out of the prison that's your own head is simply disappearing.
The best part is, the melodies are joyous, even ascending but the lyrics are very dark.
After all that, the listener enjoyed years of emotions in 7 damn minutes. And even after all that, this song is much deeper.
TL;DR - This song crushes emotionally. I was effed up with my jaw on the floor and tears in my eyes and had to take a walk.

To my Ex where ever you are “YOUR GONNA WATCH ME ASCEND!” When he screamed that it brought me back when I yelled at my ex after I found out she cheated on me for the 3rd time. It was 8 years ago when I left her and these songs remind me of those times and how I am better for it. Fucking worship baby

The first 2 minutes are just soft piano and beautiful vocals. Then the beat drops and it’s like R&B. My shoulders start to move and my head bobs. Once the rock comes in (which is honestly where my heart lives) I was hooked. I’ve watched this three times already. I can’t thank you enough for giving me this gift. There is so much more I have to hear from them and I’m gonna hear them all for the first time while watching you hear it for the first time too. It remind some of chillin with my friends and hearing a new track that blows your minds. Music is what heals me and I have a feeling this is gonna be a great journey. This is an instant add to my playlist.

I absolutely LOVE that Hammond B3 organ sneaking it at about 3:20 (got the time stamp right today because, sadly, no "shurm" just yet, lol). Anyway, all it does is hold out the same chord forever, but it adds such an element of body and tension that it's really a brilliant choice.
