Thank you sooo much!!! My disassembly finished in parts falling onto my hand without knowing how they were before! You guided me to put them back together. I'm soooo greatful. Had some owful dots on inner lens and price of cleaning was close to price of used lens. So thank you thank you very much! God bless you!
I've had an unusable lens for a year since cat pulled strap and camera off table. Thanks to your video, I have repaired the broken stud with simple glue and it's totally functional once again! My tip is for the very end, when reinserting the ribbons. don't screw down ring until after inserting ribbons. Place the circuitboard through the ring in the proper way and hold both while more easily inserting the ribbons and closing their clamps. Then rotate ring to match slot with plastic stud and screw down (4 black screws). Clean lens before next step. Then mount final assembly with 4 silver screws. Merci !!
Thanks a lot for the first 1:30, I dropped my NEX 5R in Korea and it chipped loose some of the plastic casing inside resulting in lens failure. I followed the video on how to open up the lens to take out the plastic bit and it worked again, tres bien!
If someone need to clean only the front element, is necesarry to disassembly from the mount back as in your video or is possible to get only the front element from the front ?
Un-bloody real I have to do this with my 18-55...Thanks SONY I have all the time in the world! Is there a warranty for this ? It's just over a year I think....
hey there, have u tried to open SONY Zeiss sonnar 35mm f2.8??? do they all look same inside??? what if i wanna put an oval inset between the aperture and the bottom glass?? do u think the glass can be opened?
Hi. I can't tell you because i've never had it in my hands. But i'm pretty sure they don't have the same construction! If you write down on a piece of paper each step of the disassembly you will be able to reassemble it without any problem.
I'm sorry, but no. You must go from the back of the lens. One small tip here - is that You don't need to screw out the silver screws (4:43 here). Just the black screws and front lens will fell of. Be careful!
yes I see now. sorry my english is not great, i didn't understand your question. The video doesn't jump because I didn't make a break. it's enough to turn the ring, it will be put in place. In my memories it's necessary that the zoom is completely opened to insert the ring. Do you understand ?

Hi friend! Theres no a more simple way to take off the first lens? I don't have 2 mths with this camera and have a dot in the photos. The lens have a white thing. I don't know if the two dots in the photos are in the lens or the sensor, but I'm thinking to open it to see what happens!
Don't do this unless you absolutely have to. The process of taking the lense apart might seem to be easy, but assembling it back is pure hell. Not that hard when you already have some experience, but if you just need to clean some minor dust inside your lense, it's not worth it.
I am in Need of help if you can . I have the same Lens and im trying to Tear it down but not for cleaning . i was using it and i zoomed out and back in and went to zoom out again and i cant , it wont budge , so i took it all apart like ive done before not a big deal really . and i get to the part to make the inside drop down by zooming out , well here is my issue i cant zoom out so i cant make it drop to be able to fix it . it does turn a tiny bit after i took it apart . this is the first time ever with any lens to do this to me and i cant find info any place on if there is a Trick or maybe something that will release it that i dont know about . Maybe you can help with that i am not sure tho . i appreciate any info and help i can get at this point . we dont have any local camera stores here anymore that work on them so it would cost quite a bit to have it shipped off , fixed and sent back . Thank you
Sorry let me start over because things have changed . i did take apart the lens after messing with it for a few days i did get it to drop . now i can put it back together and everything only thing i cant put back on is the zoom ring , the zoom ring when put back on makes everything bind . its very tight and the pins that it use's to help open and close the zoom gets stuck , but when its off its free as a bird . i thought everything was fine , no drops of plastic came out , nothing is broke . it just binds up and i have no clue of why . maybe it slipped off its track and made a mark i cant see ? the zoom ring only goes on one way so i dont think it can be put on backwards . so at the moment im stuck now , i thought i made progress :/ Thanks for any help :)
i didn't so i can't do vidéo for you ,sorry. it's even easier, i know. Remove the 4 small screws (see image link) and proceed like me kurtmunger.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/July2010/nex16bk.jpg
Non, si c'est pour nettoyer uniquement la lentille de protection, il suffit d'enlever les 4 premières vis puis soulever le cercle argenter et enlever les autres 4 vis noir. retourner l'objectif et ensuite enlever la lentille de protection.
I have to do the same with the sel 55-210, but I cannot find any information on how to remove the front lens to clean it inside. Can you help me please?
Bonjour. J'ai beaucoup de poussière à l’intérieur (entre la lentille et le verre de protection) de mon objectif SEL 18-200 nex. Est ce le même procédé de démontage ? Merci
Hi, I need to clean just the front lens from inside. Is possible to release it without disassembling of the whole body, cabling etc ... opposite to 19:19? I am assuming only the rear ring needs to be removed. Is there any locking mechanism which hold the front tube? Unfortunately you put the music to the video, so I am not able to hear any click sound :)
I get to where youre at at 17:00 but then once I try to put in the next part it doesnt slide in nearly as easy as you make it seem, but I can get it in with some force the silver screws to move the lends up and down wont budge, I have taken it apart to see if I have anything backwards but everything is as it should be, any idea why it isnt moving up and down as it should be?
it was my mistake, I didnt tighten the screw enough around the lens, but anywho its entirely back together, and my autofocus isnt working anymore, any idea which of the 3 wires would be causing it to not focus? I cant manually focus it either
Ruberduky99 Still having the issue? If neither auto nor manual work(well, the manual is actually electronically assisted) then that most likely means that the focus motor isn't connected. You may want to disassemble it again and be absolutely sure that every is connected to the controller board.
Thought I'd try this but my lense got stuck in the minimum zoom position attempting reassembly at 20.55 . I can find no way to get the lense out now or to make it zoom 😩
@@CiryanCore all cable seems connected properly, still not recognised. But, i saw that the aperture blade in the lens isn't moving, it's stays open only
there is a small (really small) latch to unlock before pulling the tape. to unlock it you have to lift the latch up and then you can pull the ribbons. I hope I was clear enough to help you.
Epic'turE JH Malheureusement non! J'ai acheter du coup le 1855. Par contre j'ai réussi lui a le nettoyer entièrement! et le remontée sans soucis! Mais le 1650 est vraiment trop compliquée! :-(
