Actually, for some cats, Olive is like Catnip! I had cats that would go crazy the moment I opened an olive jar, and giving one to them was like unleashing a catnip craze. Some don't care for it, but I am sure that if you try to give her an olive? She might react the same.
Yes definitely. My brothers cat really does love olives and bread. The bread has to be fresh or she won’t go near it. Super strange, but cute that they have preferences

Olives is on the list of poisonous foods for cats. I never give my cats any although avocados are also poisonous (bad) for cats I sometimes give both a tiny bit.
At the moment I have 1 big olive plant plus two smaller ones in full bloom last few weeks with their pollens all over the patio…

Really, don't spread misinformed things to cat owners. Even Jackson Galaxy himself speak of how Olives have similar chemicals that can make cat react to it like catnip.
I simply googled searched " are olives like Catnip?" And "Are Olive poisonous for cats?" And got both answers right away.

It's the olive oil. Olives have some chemical components similar to catnip from what i've read. My cats go nuts over green olives, same as this one :)

My 16 year old Maine coon cat goes bonkers over sourdough, and has since he was a kitten. I think it's the fermentation smell.

It's the grocery store stuff, so I don't really know. He might nibble it a little, but mostly, he likes to rub it all over his face and head.

I’m not here to argue or even have a discussion really about this cat’s behavior; she can be aggressive, indeed she typically is with me if I try to play with her (unless I really wear her out, say w a cat toy for 30 mins - she has that much energy!!) or just pet her. Typically she hides out & I play with the other 2 cats who are both chill & loving. Sparkle is sweet & loving w my sister & the rest of the family, I simply don’t spend enough time w her. Aaaand I’m done explaining now 😉

I also fail to understand how this is like a 50/50 issue where people either see no problem with letting their cat(s) stand/walk on counters and tables, or people think it's "nasty" or "gross."...I mean as they say, " cat's gonna cat," and go wherever they want...matter of fact, I think cats are almost worse than children when it comes to being told no. Trying to teach a cat to NOT go on a counter top seems to have the same results as saying "your only mission in this life is to find a way to get on top of that counter!"
But I mean in all honesty, I don't understand what's so gross about it. I've heard many people say stuff like that is gross or disgusting, but never heard WHY it's gross or disgusting. Does no one clean their counter & table tops before use? I just don't understand.

I think all cats have quirks. My PeeWee loved most bread - biscuits, cornbread, birthday cake, etc. about the same as Sparkle with the ciabatta. Grocery day was a battle to get all the bags inside without PeeWee demolishing everything trying to get to the cake or bread. He sure could make a mess of my counters in no time flat, bread and packaging everywhere! The first time he did this, I had fixed cornbread muffins to go with a pot of beans I'd made. I left the muffins on the stove after fixing our plates. Little did I know, he was in the kitchen absolutely destroying those muffins. I finally knew something was going on when I heard him knock the muffin tin to the floor and when I walked in, it looked like muffins had exploded all over my kitchen. He even had crumbs on top of the fridge. He was definitely a quirky cat and I miss all his antics terribly, but I can't have pets where I live now. No other cat could ever take his place anyways.
It’s something special about the ingredients used that she absolutely adores. My cats do that too with certain foods.
