Is the long probe tip primarily for z-axis height measurements? Can the long probe tip, with a larger ball than the short probe tip, be used for side offsets? Perhaps if doing this the meter would not read zero when touched off?
Hello Kent! No. The long probe can be used just the same as you use the short probe tip. Because it is exactly twice the diameter & twice the length, the offset for the sensor itself remains the exact same. In short, the tips are interchangeable and capable of performing the exact same functions with the exact same degree of accuracy. Hope my answer was helpful!
