Fantastic video. J27 an incredibly smooth riders as well as puller. I saw these as well as Q6 on Consett ore trains. Congratulations too on getting young folks interested in steam loco’s. All that’s missing is LMER livery.
We were were thinking of going on this recently when we staying in pickering Yorkshire, don't get me wrong I know a lot a of work and expense goes into running a railway but £40 each is a bit much
There are cheaper tickets for shorter journeys. A two station ticket eg Pickering to Goathland or Goathland to Whitby. Or a one station ticket eg Whitby to Grosmont. Prices are on the NYMR website Www.Nymr.co.uk/pages/category/book-tickets
I've got to disagree there. If you're going from Pickering to Grosmont and back that £40 is taking you about 36 miles, so only just over a pound a mile, and if you're going out to Whitby that's a 48 mile round trip so it's less still. I think that's decent value given the cost of maintaining and running steam locos, especially now with coal so hard to obtain. Not to mention that you can now get an all year pass for the same price. No connection with the railway btw, just enjoyed my recent holiday there.
The ticket price is a bargain because it lasts for 1 year. Even though I have a ticket I spend more time hanging out at Grosmont sheds and station, a living museum, that is all free. Other times I’ll get 6 trains in one day. The running costs are 1000 times more than you would imagine.
Enjoyed the ride, thanks for sharing.
The young lad was certainly earning his supper!
A very picturesque ride as always! Thank you for the video! ❤😊
Wow so great. Thank for sharing 🙏🏻
Very good and nice to see young Sam on the footplate shovelling 👍
