I love this serie, and I love Missy being naturally in charge ! It suits to her character I think
Not really, i didnt watch tbbt but Georgie said she was mess after Sheldon left and even in season 6 sheldon said she was sneaking almost every day, the responsible Missy doesnt really suit Missy everybody was talking about.

I don’t like that Mary just assumes the worst, it’s not like she could do anything. Missy is so natural at being in-charge (she might be better than Mary)
Daughter some are just mini versions of her mother. George is a saint for staying married to Mary

If you watch the full episode the other characters state multiple times that Missy is "being in charge" by copying everything that she grew up watching/listening Mary does to run the house.
As for why Mary wants to come home: her mother just lost her house and savings, her son and daughter-in-law are busy with a newborn baby. Her daughter is 13 and was in self-destruction mode all last season. Her husband who promised her up and down he would be on top of everything, if she went away, in 24 hours switched to an incompetent peace of furniture, who sits on his fat ass all day, and whines when he gets told to help. It should not be the troubled 13 year old who has to run everything.

I just hope that she doesn't go overboard with it. It's nice that she's trying to be better and more mature, but she still needs to be a kid while she can too!

They're not enjoying it all that much. Georgie feels like mom never left. George Senior is unhappy that the family wants his daughter in charge of the house rather than him. Mandy is unhappy that she doesn't have many clothes. Mee Maw is unhappy because her house is gone, she doesn't have tornado insurance, and Dale implied she was stupid for that. The only happy one is Missy,

Love Missy in this episode. It makes sense to me that she, being the most socially aware, would take the tete-d-chez. From the beginning she's called out on nonsense she sees. The rule breaker becomes the cop. Beautiful writing.
Georgie and Missy have come such a long way. They stepped and became better people. Problem is Mary refused to acknowledge that and continued to coddle Sheldon. That’s why despite Sheldon being a grown ass man, he can’t do anything on his own.
So she never expected anyone to change at-all?
@@stephenbyrne2170 I think it’s more like she didn’t expect much from them. In tbbt, there were instances where Mary said things about Georgie and Missy that made you think she was disappointed in them.

Missy was unusually great in this episode. I am willing to guess that it won't last.
It is a tired cliché of bad writing. My dad in the 70s knew were everything was, and handled things when my mom was in the hospital just fine.
He was the son of a rancher in Texas and a WW2 veteran turned engineer.
I'm so glad it finally came out, I'm just worried it won't be as good and that the writers/makers have messed it up!

Just why did George not wash his hands? He’s an adult he said just wash his hands.
It looked good on Mary ,that her baybee disagreed with her ,now she knows how others feel,
She created him,being self centred little jerk,who she coddled .
Mary was a total control freak,she wanted to go,home ,and didn’t listen to her mother , everything was fine without Mary and Sheldon, then hangs up in her when meemaw asked to speak to Sheldon,and Sheldon wanted to speak to his meemaw.
It wasn’t about her caring ,or she wouldn’t have hung up on her mom,knowing,she lost everything ,
Meemaw talking to her moonpie would have cheered her up,knowing he was ok,staying in Germany. That was paid for ,so he can go.

Likely: Mary stays in Germany for the summer term duration. She becomes more of a snarky mouthed sullen drinker....matching the role in TBBT
Missy's come to Jesus moment in the tornado makes her the confident boss personality you saw on TBBT.
Georgie and his family move in with her parents so he can inherit the Tire Kingdom seen on TBBT.
Memaw gets engaged.
George feels he is useless, turns to the neighbor, has another heart attack.
Mary and Sheldon come home.
So Missy didn't sneak out 30 times that summer and get her bellybutton pierced?
She did. She may have done that during the 8 months that this show wasn't airing new episodes

I thought CeCe was conceived in mandys apartment? I wonder why mandy and Georgie voted for missy to be in charge - was it because they liked her being in charge, because they didn't want to be in charge or because they didnt want George in charge?
Well the first time they did it was at his garage and then the second time was at Mandy’s apartment
Why does nobody do anything except for Missy? I don't like this episode. It is like saying only a woman should do the house work. Why can't a grown man Georgie even prepare a simple sandwitch?

Am I the only one that thought this episode was really really bad. It was chaotic. There were no answers at all. The story lines were not sold at all. It was just Sally and Dad. I hope they do much better the rest of the season because this first one sucked.
