You know you can sang , when you get up in age and still sound the same.no voice over, no auto tune, no nothing.just raw singing.love me some Lenny williams, and he still looks good
@@cindyb8478 Rick Stevens wasn't "the first guy". Rufus Miller was. Rick murdered 3 people, not 2. He spent 36 years in prison, not 30. Yes, I am a stickler for facts. In my opinion he was the best lead singer for T.O.P.
It's 1973. I live in the East Bay and meet the first love of my life. This was our song. Still wonder what became of that beautiful woman near fifty years later. Life!
LOL! I was prescribed all of those "medicines" back in the day from my next door "pharmacist" but my favorite was just plain Mexican because I could not stop laughing from the "side effects." We also put our medicine in brownies too. Anyone remember that? Anyway, Lenny has still got it. I remember a live clip of So Very Hard to Go back in '73 where the trumpeter's bell had a built in angle upwards when he played his solo part. I thought it was the Midnight Special but I looked it up on YT and was a regular trumpet. Maybe it was a different appearance on MS. I love that solo. I used to play it on my Trombone.
I was a child, but I remember my older brothers and sisters listen to him, and that made me love the music. He had the IT thing then, and he still do. Went to most of the concerts. Best lead man of T.O.P 🎉❤
Absolutely fantastic!! very few artists can continue to sing the same as they did 30 years ago. Musicians too. Age comes for us and it's sad when the best of the best lose their ability to sing as they did in their prime. Right here, is hands down the best now as they were when this song first came out. Thankyou for bringing back memories for me and when I was 13 years old and the world was a different place.
I am truly amazed (and entertained) by this performance. It's difficult to believe that Lenny's voice is so well preserved some 40 years later, when his is likely in his seventies. He must have taken really good care of his voice over the years.
Yes,, I remember this song,, when I was in college,, we were checking out the BEST HORN sections , and of course Tower of the Power came up,,, thank you guys for the memories,
Absolutely luv this song. What great music we had back in the day. Always so nice to hear a familiar song that has that beautiful sound. I have to say, Lenny still has it at 77, so amazing. And decades later he still chopping it up on stage. What a blessing. This is diffidently a favorite that I will be listening to for years to come. So thank You Lenny for sharing your soulful voice, and your God gifted talent.
Something made me look up this song because I remembered it. Lenny you sound great with a great rhythm section. I play guitar and I love those chords. Keep doing it. Hope to catch you when you come back to New York City.
Had the privilege to see him twice with T.O.P. Got him to autograph my ticket. Still got on my office wall. Met Rock and had a drink with Doc( He was having coffee)
Um cantor quando novo acima da média que cantava essa música genial e linda ,mas envelheceu e mostra que é o tal ,é um mito cantando . Parabéns: Ao grande cantor Lenny Wiliams

The first guy was good too until he was involved in 2 murders in went to jail for 30 years.
@@cindyb8478 Isn't this the one and only Lenny Williams? (the *actual* original guy? - maybe I'm just dense)
An amazing & original voice with that superlative shrill/vibrato in the upper registers
@@cindyb8478 Nope your wrong...it was their first singer... Rick Stevens...
@@cindyb8478 Rick Stevens wasn't "the first guy". Rufus Miller was. Rick murdered 3 people, not 2. He spent 36 years in prison, not 30.
