I've been cutting off the ribbons on clothes sine my daughter was little, originally I used in her hair, then she used on her dolls. Later I used as hanging loops for things I knitted / stitched. Now, I use in cardmaking.
The other ideas are also great, not yet used but tbh I don't really do much mixed media x

Warning for the nail polish: some formulas (usually cheap ones) turn yellowish after a year or two
