a bald eagle's diet contains at least 50% fish (up to 75%), whereas a golden eagle hunts down mammals (and reptiles) up to the size of does and deers. i mean the diet is probably OK for the bald eagle himself, but choosing him as a national bird is just ridiculous. the frenchies with their rooster at least included a 'pun' (since it's a reference to the gauls), but a fucking fish eater? seriously?

I wish they could've done more to prevent this monstrosity. The time for revolutions and political reform is over; the statists are now in control.
They could've thrashed the constitution. It's what has enabled the federal government to exist. Listen to what the old anti-federalist were saying, they predicted exactly what has happened. Actually, they fell short, it's much worse than what they believed.
In the end, words on a piece of paper are powerless to do anything. I am always incredibly annoyed by conservatives that revere the constitution like a holy text, and imagine some past rosy glory days of the Republic that never really were. Lysander Spooner put it really well. "But whether the Constitution really be one thing, or another, this much is certain - that it has either authorized such a government as we have had, or has been powerless to prevent it. In either case, it is unfit to exist."
The only thing that ultimately matters is the choices of individuals -- none of these other spooks mean anything, or accurately represent reality. A state-limiting constitution was bound to fail to restrain a centralized system. Sadly, it will always eventually fail.
I always have liked this flag simply because of how concise it is and how true to our ideals of how we would pursue conflict it is. Of giving warning but if forced to strike we strike to win.

Except when you launched a comprehensive false flag operation against your own people, used that to justify a war based on demonstrable lies, then used that conflict to massively destabilize a region of the world, leading dissatisfied citizens of that region to take up violent reprisals against citizens of your own country, ultimately frightening you into giving up your freedoms. Islamic terrorism is a false flag, the US government may not fund it, but they started it, allow it to continue and are the only people who benefit from it. If you want to know why life is bad, look upwards at those pulling the strings, not sideways at the poor sap stuck in the same position you are.

The Rattlesnake seems like a much better mascot instead of the Bald Eagle.Why? have you looked an Eagle head on they look derpy but they look cool from a side view but with a Rattlesnake just hearing its rattle can scare some people. (also I just love snakes)
But the Eagle does beat the snake, it far better shows the concept of American idealism flying high and mighty in the sky. The idea that one can beat any obstacle and surpass any foe while staying majestic and free, that is why I prefer the eagle.

It's high time to start flying this again.
Interesting how in the bible and in the Harry Potter books the snake is used as a deceitful animal because its strength is not immediately apparent and is therefore a representation of chaos and the unknown, while here it's used as the underdog and people identify with it because it can defend itself against tyranny even though it's very small. In Dark Souls it's used as a symbol of gluttony because it swallows animals many times larger than itself. Different times demand different symbolism, I suppose.

The Gadsden Flag needs to be the US War Flag because we don't have one

Every US flag is a battle flag. There used to be a civilian flag referred to as the Grand Union or Sons of Liberty flag. The flag was/is the symbol of Common-Law governance. It was replaced by the flag flown today.

Thank you for this video! I've been telling everyone I know about how this flag really ought to be the symbol that some say the "confederate" flag symbolizes. No one can ridicule it... and it's past is not marred by history. Gadsden flag all the way.
The problem with the Gadsden flag is that, as Cody said, anyone can claim ownership to it. A white American just trying to protect his whites, and a Communist trying to take them away are both able to claim ownership to the Gadsden flag. The Confederate flag meanwhile has a clear owner.

I wish there was a mod for Insurgency where the two opposing teams are the side with this flag vs the side with a red flag with a black fist. It is less tactical, fewer HE and full auto items in the loadout, largely centered around civilian gear and customizable AR and AK platforms. The levels are based around traditional US locations. Right team has yellow armbands and trim and red team has red ones. It could be called the Fractured Union mod or something. Comment probably gonna be deleted though, so who cares.
God damn that description of the rattlesnake by Franklin was badass. Really embodies what America should be. Never start a fight and try to avoid one at all costs, but if all else fails and you have to fight back strike swiftly and with intent.

Awesome video!!! My personal theory of why this flag is really popular today is bc other flags like the rebel flag have been stigmatized and removed from society. And certain groups are now trying to stigmatize the Gasdsen flag too.

This is partially wrong. The flag was originally drawn on a USMC drum with the words "Don't tread on me" Written under it. Then Benjamin Franklin saw this drawing and that's what inspired him to make it the first flag flown with the America's.
