Some really impressive gesturing features and I like the design changes which have evolved from the Spark to the Mavic Pro to the Air.

Hello Justine, 3 questions about this drone if you don’t mind.
1. Is it 3 axis stabilized? I love my Spark but video turning around is always horrible, forward, back and to the sides looks great.
2. How is the fly distance of this one compared to the Spark and the Mavic?
3. Does the regular $800 version come with the controller?

Bought it last year but it crashed and once DJI gave a replacement set....I swapped it with DJI Mavic 2 Zoom. Mavic Air is a little drone with some decent features....love it

Had the mavic pro but too many damn flight restrictions everywhere and haters every time you fly it so I just returned mine.
That's what bothers me as well, here in the Netherlands you need a permit in order to use drone footage professionally. If they see commercial footage online they will fine you (some rule states that everything filmed above the ground (without being it attached to the ground) is considered government regulated territory and you need a professional permit for it then). This is information of one of the official companies that give those courses in order to do the exams for the permit.
I'm glad that in Pakistan you don't need a permit to fly drones. And anything you shoot is yours, whether you use it personally or commercially. Watch "Junejo Guide to Naran". That guy used the drone to capture beautiful landscape of Pakistan.
There cant be fly restrictions everywhere. As long as you are 5 miles away from the airport and military and flying under 400 ft. you are good. Also, it would help if you are in an open field, away from people.

yeah you're not allowed to fly over people either. Also it needs to be in line of sight, and if you're using the DJI goggles, you need a second person to have eyes on the drone. But you're correct it's not that hard to avoid, justine found a nice spot. also state and national parks are a no-go for drones too

I found the WiFi really annoying to connect so a friend suggested using a USB cable. It's quicker to connect when you open the app, and the app actually opens when you plug it in. I haven't tried it out in the air yet but supposedly it's better for signal. On Amazon: "O'woda Micro USB to Type C Data Cable 90 Degree Cord for DJI MAVIC PRO / SPARK for USB-C Device Cellphone", and comes in lightning too

Hi iJustine, when it comes to wind resistance, what is better? Is it the mavic pro or air? Air is faster, but it is lighter. Pro is slower but heavier.

Yes they do haha. The RC controllers are paired to each drone.

Do you have a guess on when mavic pro 2 will release? And I plan on using my future drone mostly the mountains, afraid high winds that frequent the mountains would limit when i could use a drone the size of the air, what are your thoughts there, would the mavic pro 2 be a better choice with that in mind?

what kind of phone did you use with the controller. I could barely see my phone in daylight I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 3. I'm not sure how sunny it was when you were looking at your screen but it seem to be quite visible in sunlight

The video quality of this drone is excellent I loved looking at the ocean scenes the most.
Thanks for the review. 21 mins of battery life is a sad thing which is not good for me when I go for weeklong Himalayan treks with no power supply. I will definitely carry more batteries but see that in your video @ 11:03 min there is a power bank kind of thing with you said has 22,000 mAh power backup. Could you please give more details on that power bank and port/adaptor that is being used. Thanks

Awesome drone! DJI keeps pushing the bar. Love how small it is when folded! But the camera doesnt look like that much of an improvement on the Mavic Pro! We'll probably stay vlogging with the Pro and wait for the next DJI Mavic to come out! 🤘

what would you do? i have the mavic pro but i'm considering to sell it because drones under 500grams (like the mavic air) do not have any flight restrictions in switzerland (which are pretty hard). it's perfectly clear that i wouldn't fly next to an airport, but in switzerland the no-fly zones are in a 10km radius around airports which leave out almost no space to fly
