    What bothers me the most about all of this, in Italy as well as Iceland and other places, is the utter lack of rational thinking.
    If you have populations in hazardous areas there Must be plans and actions both to mitigate risk exposure and to accommodate ready escape.
    Niether are being done.
    Iceland: Grindavik: the town is in extreme harms way. It WILL eventually be destroyed. SO: begin searching Now for a suitable and less hazardous location and simply begin the transfer process once that is determined. It's not rocket science.
    Italy: Campi Flegrei area(all towns): Stop all new construction. Period. Accomodate renegotiation or cancellation of permits and contracts. Identify pathways to build roads or escapeways (clear paths not necessarily paved) to move people rapidly away from the threat. This would involve the purchase and raizing of structures but could be done in a very orderly way. Assuming the volcano does not blow right away thos would result in improved areal mobility and provide parks and scenic areas and vistas. It would also reduce the local population density.
    Life could continue, tourism could continue and life would be even better....until the volcano blows(!)...then the rats have a place to run!!

      *Must be plans and actions both to mitigate risk exposure and to accommodate ready escape* Governments can make all the plans they want, if the people don't cooperate, it's useless. e.g. Italian government was offering money to people to move out of the volcanic danger zone. Millions needed to move. Very very few took them up on the offer. I watched a documentary on Vesuvius from a few years back. They asked a family whose vineyard was literally at the base of Vesuvius if they were scared or worried. Nope. They felt tied to the land and they weren't going anywhere.
      *Campi Flegrei area(all towns): Stop all new construction. Period. Accommodate renegotiation or cancellation of permits and contracts* Already done. No one is doing anything. The bottom has fallen out of the real estate market, people now own worthless homes they can't sell. *Assuming the volcano does not blow right away thos would result in improved areal mobility and provide parks and scenic areas and vistas* But if it does blow, it's money wasted they could have used to relocate the locals. The government is not made of money, they can't afford to do both.

    With all that stupidity going on, why would the volconologists be bothered to provide information on a earthquake, eruption, or whatever is happening to the general public if they are going to be judged on what they say. That is seriously stupid.

    • @reiniernn9071
      @reiniernn9071 Місяць тому +1

      I suppose their problem will be:
      You are going to be judged on wkat you say AND pon what you did not say...
      In other words...If they do not want to be judget in Italy they shoul lay down ALL work related to geological (volcanic and earthquake related) research.
      Maybe even emifgrate to another country.
      Also stopping registering tremblings.
      (They should have done so the day of conviction...lay down all work until the convicting judges AND those who put them for trial all were fired.)

In my uneducated opinion, at this point, I think we need to see a 5.0+ earthquake and/or a substantial increase of bradysiscm (sp?) of like 5cm or more in a month’s time before it’ll erupt (i 20:10 e: exceed the 80’s period rumbles & rise). But to be clear, I personally would have gotten the hell out of there back in May at the 4.0!!!

      @user-ri1ti6go7s Місяць тому

      It's not a case so much maybe the government won't help because of the cost but maybe more in such a big disad9 they can't. People choose to live in volcano areas all over thee world and wonder why disasters happen when the volcanoes become active

    • @a.westenholz4032
      @a.westenholz4032 Місяць тому

      @@user-ri1ti6go7s I tend to agree that possibly in this case it might just be a mixture of complete inability to do anything IF an eruption should happen as well as general incompetence and unwillingness to even try to mitigate the worst. The size of the disaster would be so huge there isn't much they realistically can do, so they lie. Worse they do little to prevent building or further settlement in the areas, choosing instead to completely ignore the issue and carry on regardless until it happens.
      Which is why it is a tragic irony to jail scientists for what they did or didn't say beforehand, as likely it had little impact on what local officials did, but they were obviously the scapegoat when SOMEONE had to be blamed for nature doing what it will.

    Good morning Silki,
    The magma that’s filling all of these chambers is the same magma coming from deep inside the Earths Mantle. Like I said earlier, Plate Tectonics is responsible for all of this activity we’re seeing today. The earthquakes are from magma taking the path of least resistance, filling individual chambers as it goes. There’s an unstoppable force unfolding before our eyes. We can all learn something from this.😮

      Oh but there is a problem, take climate scientists for example, we have Nobel prize winning people, scientists at the top for decades cancelled for not going along with the narrative, it is a fact that many scientists are threatened with loss of funds if they don't follow the Agenda, in other words many are spineless cowards. Same happened with the scamdemic.

It wasn't like the government didn't try to tell them to move and even offered them money to move. But they didn't go. And when the signs were all there of a possible eruption, they did nothing to save themselves.

Of course that could just mean the versuvious activity is an extra sign campi flegei is getting more dangerous. Not enough is known though to be certain about anything in the area, even an eruption is far from certain.

    There will be thousands of earthquakes, small and large before the "big one" explosion. So it does make more sense to create emergency plans for earthquakes rather the once in thousands of years serious eruption.
    Italian law is strange compared to other countries. The scientists were charged and convicted. There has been at least one case where the same thing happened in an air crash. Charging these people makes it hard to get people to work the job and to make "best effort" predictions.

    Good call Silki.
    All natural disasters have a degree of uncertainty attached too them. Any recommendations come with political pressures attached whether officially recognised or not.
    Likewise individual decision making is affected by not only unclear information but personal circumstances.
    From what I can tell...
    Volcanic eruptions cannot be predicted with a degree of accuracy that has the ability to outweigh political, financial and logistical pressures. All that is left to the individual is to understand the basics of what can be known, and make a risk analysis based on survival above all other parameters, as survival is the first hurdle to overcome. It's not without risk to any current lifestyle sustainability. It's a gamble due to the unknowns.
    But if done preemptively the chance of beneficial outcomes is increased.
    Things to think about might be...
    Is their anyone you know that would be willing to accommodate you for a length of time etc
    Try and find a safe space to assess future directions.

    I'm not an expert on volcanoes but I've also read here and there about bloggers in Iceland who obviously scientifically maintain that if there is a rise in the ground it doesn't necessarily mean there is an eruption. And it is evidence that in the one thousand nine hundred and eighty-four in the Phlegraean fields it was a rise of one hundred and eighty centimeters and there was no eruption then it went back down so there is no scientific certainty whether something could happen certainly the seismic swarm that has been there since May is important that obviously does not I deny it because if I don't remember it was 4.4 And therefore 1 important earthquake for this situation not from a clash of faults
    And there is also a study that says that about 15,000 years have passed since major eruptions on earth even if there have been others, obviously even here there is no scientific proof that there is an passage every 15,000 years But let's hope that they solve the problem of evacuations that the people there decide to go build another city away from those dangerous areas a hug to everyone
    I hope google translate doesn't write bad words😂😂😂😂

    This comment is not aimed at Silki, I just use her words to derive some thoughts from it.
    When 300 people dying in an earthquake is horrible what words could be used to describe the current genocide in Gaza?
    Or which words for 161 billion dollars dished out to the Ukraine in the last 6 months by the various Western states plus the money spent by the opposing sides to kill so far around 600,000 (all sides)?
    Silki is right. 300 dead is horrible. But looking at the above it is fair to say that it might not be too unwanted if a couple of hundred thousands or even more die because of Campi Flegrei.
    We people need to look in the mirror and determine our path forward.
    One thing is clear, only a real shift in our mindset and attitude towards life will do it.

    THE SIXTH SEAL: COAMIC DISTURBANCES
    12 I looked when He opened the sixth seal, and behold, there was a great erthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became like blood. And the stars of heaven fell to the earth, as a fig tree drops its late figs when it is shaken by a mighty wind.
