@@iloveshootingshit I hate it never came to light. Distance and accuracy would be great! I've considering picking one up for years now. It's odd that it shot low though, especially after you heavily adjusted the sights.
I've had mine for many years also. Never one single problem after 1000's of rounds. Sights suck tho - I just go a bit high and it is usually spot on around 50 yes. Great little Stg!
Great Video! I was able to pick up 3 more mags at LGS who had forgot they had them in the back for normal prices. Also picked up the Threaded muzzle nut 1/2X28 from Tacticool 22 so I can run suppressed now! So much fun!
I’ve had the internal plastic guide rod in the recoil spring break several times. The rod just snaps off. I gave up and machined one from an aluminum rod. Mine shot low also and I filed the front sight down. Rather than run with the rear sight tipped up all the way. File very small increments. Took about 3/16 inch total. Yea. A lot. As far as actual accuracy, you can hit a 5 gallon bucket about every shot at 100 yards. Partially because the rear sight has some lateral movement. It rarely has a feed or extraction malfunction. You are spot on about how dirty it can be and still function. Overall it certainly isn’t a rabbit hunting gun but it is hella fun. And it looks good. I am satisfied with it for what I paid.
I had to be the first kid on the block with the StG44, and at the time I bought it, I think rimfire ammo was at its peak of high price and low availability, and I just never shot it, and usually don't remember I have it! In the few hundred rounds I have shot, my only complaint is that it won't extract live rounds. All the shooting I do is competition, with an "unload and show clear" at the end of the string, and using a knife or something to dig out that round, to show clear, is a hassle. Definitely a fun shooter.
Not gonna lie dude, the way it's angled in the thumbnail made me think I was looking at a STG-44 turned lovecraftian monstrosity for a moment. Please, as a man of German descent have mercy. I almost had a heart attack.
Tip when it jams gently pull the charging handle a tiny bit back but not all the way were it can fall then when it falls move it forward then pull it all the way so a round flies out and bam it's ready again
Have you noted the last round tends to jam failure to feed no matter how many are loaded ? Cant pull bolt back and eject as its bent ? Only dropping the mag pulls it out > Have 3 mags and all do this - using CCI HV 36 and 40 grain minimags
I was surprised at how low mine shoots. At 50 yds. I have the rear sight at nearly max elevation. Glad to hear I'm not the only one. Where did you find parts for yours, like the pin you said was walking out of the bolt?
I need help accessing the barrel as there is some movement. I wanna get in there and see how I can firm it up. Do you have / know of any videos that demonstrate removing the receiver to access the barrel?
I agree about the sights and the jamming, beautiful rifle, but for $600.00 I paid for it new when they first came out and were crazy in demand, those issues should have never existed. And now I can't get mags either!
Mine shoots really low too at 50 and even 100 yards… Gonna take it back out tomorrow with my mauser and mosin…. My mosin sight needs some adjustment too..
Strange, the finish on mine has aged quite a bit since first purchasing it, with honestly not much use. It used to be as dark as the handguard which remains dark while the rest has dulled for some reason.
I'd like to see it shot at 100 yards. I've actually shot mine at 100 yards and relatively accurate. You know, you can purchase another mag to replace that broken one. They're readily available.
2 years of ownership and I still love this gun although it does jam frequently after the first clip even though we clean it but I'm still happy to own a piece of history
Not gunna lie, I'm sad I never snagged one of these. Shame HMG was a collosal failure with theirs. From what I understand they basically act like it doesn't exist anymore
Which ammo do you use ? Cause for me it's the worst gun that I bought. The gun is A1 clean every time I go to shoot it and It always jam I dont undestand I just buy CCI at 1680 fps to give it an other chance.
Wonder if shooting the rifle with the bolt stop being inoperable and dry firing essentially on the last trigger pull is as we know dry firing .22 rim fire will damage most .22 gun chamber front surfaces and eventually leave the rifle or pistol inoperable.
@@chrispasitney9562my 22 from the 50s has considered this you just need a small recessed spot in the chamber almost ever 22 has had this for like 100 years
