You can use an instant pot with the same process, a crock pot on warm for 4 - 8 hours, and get the same results and not have to wait for 4 - 8 weeks, you can fo it on the stove top using a double boiler method without fear as you keep it in a mason jar with it lightly tightened so you lose nothing. You don’t need a $299 - $600 magical butter machine or Levo to make the best tincture available. Simply using what you have will make your tincture what you want it to be. In the USA you can buy 189 proof everclear for $10 or less for a liter bottle. This alcohol completely evaporates during the process.
You mean 190 proof Everclear..and thanks for mentioning the other methods if tincturing instead of the Magic Butter Machine that most can’t afford to invest in ..I invested in the MB Machine because I make a lot of tinctures but just because of all its uses for oil and alcohol and not have to babysit. I bought the unit 5-yrs ago and have not used it yet now I will after watching this video.
@Diamond Delight Edibles. Thank you for another great video! freezing the alcohol to get the water out and to gain a higher proof never dawned on me for making tinctures. I kind of feel dumb now lol, because it's basically the same thing we've done with the apple cider in the winter time, put it outside freeze the pulp and water drain it and that's basically what I call Applejack.

Hi I am a new subscriber, love your videos you are a wealth of information delivered with such a beautiful smile. ;) I am making super high dose canna cotton candy but am having issues with the flavor of my sugar.After decarbing in the oven it has an overwhelming "nutty' flavor (for lack of a better word to describe the kinda gross flavor it has) do you have any advice for the best way to make yummy tasting infused sugar for spinning into cotton candy??
For anyone wanting to know in 2022, I spoke to LCBO Quality Assurance this week and they said they don't do this anymore. Instead select stores carry a product called Alcool which can be used for this purpose in place of Everclear or similar for tincture making. You need to contact a LCBO that carries/can carry Alcool and make arrangements. That's my next step. Alternatively you can have Everclear shipped to you from Alberta I think it was but shipping was minimum $40 for 1 $40 bottle of Everclear. It was $80-90 to ship 12 bottles (was curious).

Thank you for the tutorial. Liked and subbed. How far can it be reduced down and still retain all of it's thc? I made some with Everclear. I already reduced it down half of it's size. It's nice and strong but hurts the crap out of our tender under-tongues. My wife and I want to go with the tincture method. I read one article that said thc is lost if the alcohol is evaporated. Another article claims you don't have to carbonize your weed before hand, that the Everclear transforms the thc. Another article claims alcohol tinctures can't be used under the tongue and are only for swallowing. That one is just a lie.
Can you shed any personal experience on using tinctures straight away?

Dark rum, soak yer weed to make the tincture, once strained off add cinnamon sticks for like 2 weeks I think. Cannabis vanilla extract. Theres a bald guy that does a tutorial. He's good but can't think of his channel on YT.
I love tinctures. I’ve made them with Everclear, 151 Rum, and with MCT Oil.
Is there a difference in taste or effect with the 151 Rum

Yes there is a taste difference. I made tincture the 1st time with 151 rum because everclear isn't legal in my state. Then I managed to get some and wanted my money. The rum tincture I use for infused sugar and it makes a beautiful caramel colored sugar. And tastes 100% better than the everclear.

Your description of use of the Magic Butter machine has me thinking this is somewhat akin to using an Instant Pot multi cooker. Granted it won't grind/mix the contents but otherwise the temp and time control can be set similarly.
Any thoughts about this???

please suggest how much of Trim or Keif to use for 1 cup of Grain proof. Ex. 4 oz of Flower/K/T per cup? Or 3cups of Grain Vodka with the suggested amount of T/K?F for mild to med pain relief with Function and a bit of fun because it takes 6 to 8 weeks. My dad has glaucoma and it has proven to reduce the pressure in eyes and for his back pain too but expensive to buy so Im going to give it a try and look for a used machine if I can get measurements right. i can get flower but I have left overs to make edibles for daily use. Lots of people use a crock pot the same way, just leave the top of the crock pot open, leave the windows open & put a clean fan blowing as ethanol or alcohol is flammable. Good luck.

Thank you :) VG and alcohol are nothing alike and cannot substitute one for the other. I don't use VG because I can't substitute it with any ingredients.
I use vegetabe glycerin for my tincture. It has a sweet taste and thicker consistency than the alcohol. I use it in my coffee, infused alcohol drinks and premade juices.
Do the herbs have to be dry to use the infuser?

Oh my gosh you rock!!!!! I am a severe chronic pain patient with a nervous system disorder called CRPS or RSD. This disease has turned my world upside down and took over 2 years to diagnose. There is no cure so I have to just try and lessen the pain. Unfortunately there aren’t a lot of prn or any other kind of med that has helped me personally with decreasing my nerve pain until I tried edibles. I was never one that was into thc as a recreational drug so this work is completely new to me. I want to do gummies but need to find a recipe that I can basically dilute Down more because it doesn’t take much for me and I also want to get the most usable product from the material I purchase from out dispensary. I can’t take this recipe down to the oil because I have a gas stove💔 any suggestions if I should use tincture vs any other form for gummies? If anyone who reads this can be of help I greatly appreciate advise!!!
I'm very sorry for your health condition. I can empathize with chronic pain. If you want to make RSO which is tincture removing the alcohol, you can do it on a gas stove. Just make sure you do it on low and you have a fan pointed towards your pot at all times and open the window. It's the fumes that catch fire or explode, not the liquid, provided there are no fumes able to build there is nothing to catch fire. However if you do not want to change it, I recommend making butter, use this calculator: volcanotips.com/potency-calculator-edibles/
to determine your overall butter strength and your individual edibles. You may want to look at the pain balm recipe I have. A lot of people swear by it, myself included. I hope that helped.
How much do u use of your plant material for the whole bottle? I saw another video and it said to use 32 grams for the whole bottle. The calculator u linked with this doesn’t work.
