The stock exhausts that these manufacturers put on their bikes sometimes are downright embarrassing. Imagine if Ferrari, Lamborghini, or any other "premium sports car" companies made their cars really quiet out of the factory like that?
I understand that they sell it like that...
well I don't really.
But that's not the point.
They want good publicity and exite the people by giving one of their bikes to a youtube-channel that ows it's existance to a major part to a great sounding bike.
Then make theirs all quiet.
How could they miss that?
+Kalimerakis Don't blame the manufacturers, blame Europe. A lot of bikes now have even worse exhausts due to EURO4 emissions stuff. Sucks really. Thank god for Akrapovic.

Lomfene Lokkla I prefer the 2009+ models with the crossplane system. I don't really like the look of the exhaust though. Sounds great though.

got an akra on my 701. sounds brilliant! even with the muffler i dont even wanna know how loud it is without it

Scourdej In hungary not really. You will need to drill a hole into the expensive carbon fibre to remove it.. I'm going to get the wings instead which is 3rd the price but the akra looks nicer

+Seb K I've got one motorcycle with a hydraulic clutch and one with a cable clutch. For the cable one, I've only ever had to replace that once in the 4 years I've been riding it, and it was a 30 minute job (and that was my first time doing it. Probably get it down to 15 next time). It was already worn when I got the bike. If his clutch wears 3 times faster than mine did, he'll be replacing it every year or two. $10 and 15 minutes of time every year is not a lot to ask. Hell, oil changes take longer than that, and you have to do those every 1000 miles (way more often, if you're me).
Probably the cables are very thick . I had an old 125cc that had a cable throttle (I believe most motorcycles still use cabe) and the cable was slack and frayed after a few months - possibly just a dodgy cable .
You also have to remember to oil the cable regularly. It should last you 30,000 miles.
