Utter shock, the Hytale team has dropped a new blog post just as I uploaded this video, to no one's suprize there wasn't any major news aside from some new concept art & updates on the work being done, which is a little disappointing. I don't know how much longer we have to wait.... I have High hopes but I'm also sceptical. let me know how you feel in the comments! Ill also Appreciate it if you like, comment & subscribe, this video took an entire month to edit & research! 🔥
Honestly I’m not really hyped for it anymore it looked amazing in 2018 but it’s 2023 now and at this point I don’t even know if there is a game actually being made anymore
REMINDER that the silence is PURPOSEFUL. Theyre just not there yet in terms of development but it theyre clearly approaching it, looks like we will get things later next year.
I mean, they're already saying that at best, they will START to expand outside playtesting by summer 2024. That's not reassuring. We're basically probably going for yet another year of waiting... And they're posting freaking concept arts that look like they belong to a completely different style of game with smooth lines and everything. They pretty much haven't posted a screenshot of the game in a year!!! I know they're reworking the game engine but still, they HAVE to have some Work-in-Progress screenshots to show to their starving community! Right now, they're all-talk-no-show.
The new blog post was a clown show. They revealed they still have most devs working in the old engine because the new engine is still so underdeveloped. They haven't even caught up the rendering engine to the old one. Anyone who thinks they can go from an unpresentable engine to a public game beta in a year are nuts. At this point 2027 is looking like the realistically optimistic year of the beta.
Most people have no problem with the wait itself. Obviously the scope of the game massively increased after they got backing from Riot and now they are making Hytale everything it can possibly be and will release a playable finished product when it is available. What is a problem to most people is how dead silent everything has been, we have been able to do nothing BUT wait in silence and anxiety over whether things are actually going as well as we hope they are.
people say this a lot but I dont understand it. at least once a year we get news that their work is going well and that theyre hitting their internal goals.
@@austeyen5628 I'd imagine the problem is how little that actually says. You can say "we hit our internal goals", but if you don't define what those goals might have been, it's hard to take as a sign of progress, because we cannot see the progress
Unfortunately a big cause of this silence was due to the situation between Hytale News and Hytale Hub, the developers used to be very active in a lot of parts of the community but after that situation they started to step away from the community in order to hopefully avoid something like that happening again.
Hytale’s issue is it’s trying to be something that is oxymoronic; the nostalgia of Minecraft with features Minecraft can’t deliver. I would be shocked if the game releases before 2030s, and even more shocked if it isn’t a massive commercial failure that threatens the existence of Hypixel studios.
I think the major thing is Hytale started as an indie passion project, then the trailer made the team realize that it wasn't going to be a slow start. But, have millions of potential players at the start. With riot buying them and the rewrite of the code, I think its fair to think the game before the trailer as a proof of concept game demo and the actual game development journey taking place after the trailer. Meaning about 4 years of development. My theory is a 2026 beta release at the minimum.
Assuming your correct with your "the trailer was a proof of concept" point, that would mean that - even with a 4 year development - the game would have released late 2022 to early 2023. However, it's been 5 years since the trailer and they have no game to show for.
I'm in a position where I was really hyped for the original trailer, then until a month ago just completely forgot about this games existence. However this means that instead of getting annoyed at the lack of information currently being received instead I'm being flooded with all they have added in the past 5 years
Great coverage of everything Hytale up until now, with great editing! Really shows the growth the studio has grown. The passion is palpable. This is clearly a huge project that will make big waves when it's finally out.
This video was a nice surprise! Hytale is such a shame... They released the trailer way too early and they were in over their heads with the development. I think it's safe to say that there isn't a lot of anticipation and excitement for this game, but I still hope that Hypixel Studios are able to pull this game together.
The game they are working on right now is not the game they showed in the trailer. Because of the amount of attention the trailer received many more doors opened for them. They are completely redoing the game with a new engine and rethinking nearly all aspects. This is why it's taking them so long. Had the trailer received modest attention and no interest from Riot acquiring them, they would've likely released it already. And it would pale in comparison to the Hytale they are working on right now.
The hype will come back once the mc youtubers and the like start posting videos on it, but they have indeed missed the best timing to release it. At worst though I don't really think having it exposed to a big audience will be an issue by the time it releases, and hopefully it won't be a jank mess and full of content on release....I mean you have all this time so it seriously better not be.
Another example of scope creep. I'm sure that's if they released it early access with a minimum viable product to play, It would be wildly popular and they can just add features on after it's out.
3:20 obviously no project is 1-1 if you factor in the type of work needing to be done along with the skill of developers, but people need to keep this in mind. The pandemic and engine rework likely put the game into development hell for at least one whole year. All of a sudden you needed a team with a new skill set and a good chunk of your team is useless while the engine builders are remaking everything from Java. The 2023 summer hiring blog post was a soft reboot of development in my mind so if they’re aiming for a beta in 2024, I am impressed.
The one thing I look forward to most in Hytale is the modding capabilities. I never managed to get into minecraft modding since the scuffiness of Java would make it hard to create high quality content. But with Hytale as a baseline, its new engine in C++ and the modding they are promising, I think me and my fellas would have a great time creating some kind of weapon/magic pack or an entire adventure map.
I honestly always felt like it was strange how many people felt that Hytale was going to flop because of how long they're working on it, when I feel like they should be the opposite, I'd be far more worried if they were releasing it early before they feel it's ready
It's not about releasing it early, it's about giving your passionate audience nothing. There were years before riot bought them out. All we wanted was a play test :(
@@romanoreo The game is probably still years away from being in an alpha state, let alone being playable to the public. You probably couldn't even call it a game in its current state lol.
@@TopunitoI don‘t think after 8 years of work that this is unplayable, I am pretty sure they already made all the beginning elements and basics, a roadmap without order is very unlikely. So a play test now would definitely be playable, it just probably wouldn‘t be quite finished in regards to adventure mode and programming tools

Even though I am still looking forward to the game and will stick by it until the release!)
the simple fact hytale is basicly a Riot game, its enought to know they are working hard to deliver the best possible game possible, and obviusly thinking about the long term support the game will have
once upon a time a blue girl said "don't make a girl a promise, if you know you can't keep it" and they did it, they made a promise that they couldn't keep
As a person who has been waiting for my most anticipated update in a game (Fantastic Frontier) for about 5 years, I have 0 problem with waiting, but I would still love a few frequent teasers every once and a while.
i would literally pay someone to leak at least a demo of this fucking game, i mean minecraft lunched for the public on alpha, this game is almost finished from the start and NOTHING bro im 22 years old now, im not a kid anymore i just want to play this fucking game
I hate the whole "iTS a MInecrAFT RiPP0Ff" that people say with sandbox games that so much as have the main aesthetic of pixels. its like saying fortnight ripped of team fortress 2 because their both shooters with a cartoonyish art style. that being said I am exited for this game to come out hopefully soon.
@@Pengouinn yes but the developer worked on Hytale at one point but left the project to make his own game cause Hytale was not he envisioned for his idea of a block based game.
I'm tired of just seeing "Studio Updates" and Concept art and Concept Visualization. I don't know if Riot is making them be secretive or they just don't care to keep their community in the loop. The Hytale studio team and the communication to the community they have is embarrassing. Last blog we got was 6 months ago and before that there were no blogs for a whole year from July of 2022 to June of 2023. There needs to be a closed beta and the people in the closed beta need to make content on UA-cam so that the community can see how far the game has come over the years
In my opinion, the only thing Hytale seems to share with minecraft is the genre, and even then it's only partly. They're both voxel sandbox adventure games. But that's where the similarities stop dead in their tracks. For me they are extremely different in almost every way, and it feels pretty narrow minded to consider Hytale anything near a "Minecraft clone". Minecraft does not own the voxel sandbox genre, it just happens to be the only successful game in the genre at this time. (Additionally, one could argue that Hytale isn't even a game, but rather an engine, a tool for creators. The 'game' we're thinking of is the story mode of Orbis that Hypixel Studios is crafting with this engine)
As a software engineer myself, I have to defend the Hytale team: 1. It is extraordinarily hard to change your codebase. Sometimes it is easier to restart the entire project and I really hope they had the courage to do that at some point. 2. Once you reached a certain point in a software it is hard to nearly impossible to add completely new fundamental features. I would defenitely recommend to my colleagues: Take your time. Additionally, 1 year in software development feels often like 2 months in real life. When they announced in summer 2022 that they might release it in 2023, I laughed and knew already this would never happen. My guess for the earliest release? Winter 2025.
This sort of impatience from players is one reason why games are rushed out too quickly. They will rage if it takes too long, and complain about the results if something was rushed out...
I lost hope in Hypixel like 9 years ago when I was banned for having a Doctor Who mod on my client (which I had just forgotten that was on my client at the time) and when trying to appeal, they condemned me for "choosing to use mods on the Hypixel server" like I was some sort of dirty cheater. I've tried to reach out and contact them twice over the last 9 years to explain the situation, hoping to get someone that will understand what happened, but every time its another form of "Sorry, you chose to use mods on Hypixel, and your ban will not be lifted." and i'm not about to make another MC account to play Hypixel. I've never been happy with them since.
It's absurd to think that this game won't ever release or will "die on launch" due to the loss of hype surrounding the game. The reason for the silence is quite simple. Riot Games. It's how they have always operated.
Missteps of the Hytale development team 1. Announcing the game too early and hyping the community too early (this led to their competitor Minecraft starting to develop new content) 2. releasing their concepts too early (this leads to the fact that minecraft has almost completely copied Hytale's concepts and put them into their own games and now even if Hytale releases them, their concepts will still be said to be copy of minecraft) 3. they don't measure themselves (they have a good idea but they don't have enough ability to complete it, which led to the problem above, when they hadn't finished the game yet, Mojang almost completely copied the concepts their game, and resulted in losing trust of the community as the game's launch was delayed time and time again.)
Man this game is going to generate more money than any of riot game's have done in a year's worth a time... just cause it's a sandbox game alone, but the fact it has a curated RPG experience, mini games, creator and modding support... so much will come out of this yet still mysterious project that hasn't been fully revealed.
It might take some pressure off of them if they start smaller. Release a beginner zone and a couple regions to explore. Build from there, incorporating features as they get finished. It's how most big MMOs have to be designed. I remember reading up on EverQuest, they had the next three expansions already planned when Ruins of Kunark came out, simply because the scope of an MMO is so extremely vast and detailed oriented. Hytale feels insanely detail oriented, so it might take off some of the stress if they go smaller. They hyped our expectations and want to live up to what they posted, but sometimes it's just not doable, especially if it impacts the emotional and mental health of the teams involved in the creation.
I do hope the it comes out eventually because it does look like the sort of game I've wanted for some time now. I really like both Minecraft and Terraria but what I really want is sort of a mix of both. (Or, well, _really_ I just want 3D Terraria with the scope of Minecraft, but I'd settle for a prettier, more action-oriented Minecraft with more customization.)
I would prefer it if you linked some of your "research", whether it be in the description or just throwing an article or interview on screen It helps legitimize your words and claims, and provides more context and opportunity for people to look into it for themselves
I believe Hytale will get new trailers and maybe a release date at the end of 2024. 2024 Oct 15th is Riot's 15th anniversary and they're known to put up a great show for them. Arcane Season 2 will also release at this time. Riot Games might wait for the right time to dominate the internet with their announcements, similar to the 10th anniversary where they revealed 4 new games and Arcane.
Did you add the World of Warcraft sound effects yourself? Or are these sounds in the actual footage? Like the "quest accept" sound or the "level up" sound?
Showing a game (or idea) to the public before it’s completely finished is like fermentation, you let it age finely to get hyped up by the community and finally release it when the time is ripe, however somethings ferment better than others and if not done correctly may lead to anticipation turning into dread making it rotten, one must carefully plan ahead what they will do and take action when the fermenting process is turning sour by either releasing constant updates or setting believable and realistic deadlines
As someone who is programming progressive generative stuff the development of Hytale is reasonable af... Infact it might be 2-3 years too early if they release it 2024... The main issues actually start with Riot Games to most peoples surprise likely... A lot of people that know Riot Games know it for League of Legends and similar, but almost noone knows who owns this Giant and who is responsible for making League of Legends unplayable for over 5 years... A Giant with so much reach it can stand up to Nintendo and other Giants like Ubisoft and Sony... Its Tencent... Tencent owns Riot Games... And similar to Nestle they aren't the biggest help when it comes to their brands... And this sadly extends to Hytale... But this is only one hidden part of the iceberg... In the recent years some controversial rumors around internal struggles at Hypixel have proved to be true which sucks overall (most were false tho)... Having to perform constantly on the same project can be quite challenging... Imagine working 4 years on a part of a project just for it to be scrapped entirely and replaced with a 2 week setup... This does happen... Development is pain sometimes... Than we have the issue of performance... The Hytale team wants their game to appeal to as many people as they can reach... So obviously the performance has to... Perform... For example if you take minecraft, the game is an optimisation hazard... If you slap optifine on it, sure it runs faster... But if you slap actual optimisations on it with Fabric, Sodium, etc.... Suddendly you go from 100 FPS to 500 FPS... or from 13... to 60... From unplayable to amazing... It only takes some time... Im happy they take their time as there are so many more factors to account for... If their release flops, (which is unlikely but possible) they could start on a massive loss which would severely impact update flow etc.
honeslty dont show me a game trailer if you arent literally less than 4-6 months out from actually releasing. ill play it when it comes out but Im willing to bet it has tons of microtransactions backed into it now so my hope is dwindling hard for what it could of been.
They should have just released without expanding scope. And updated as it went along, it would have at least filled peoples expectations and had a built fan base. Now the fear will be they have waited to long and they will not be able to build such "Hype" again thus making the game not the success they expect
People started losing their hope after Hypixel stopped posting on their blog and funny enough it was in that moment when Minecraft started to take the crown again so their server grew. For me it seems that they got Hytale on hold up or cancelled it completly not making it better then it was or "infinite" like one of the devs said.
I really want to see updates more often in the future, and that includes gameplay stuff. Like I know they changed engines, but I really want to see more than concepts. I want to see footage for things like their building and combat blogposts. I need more visual results.
riot being their publisher is the only reason why i don't believe the game is dead, but on the other hand i dislike that they got a big publisher, it means that they will have to satisfy the bean counters
As long as they dont lock features behind paywall, im okay with that. Also riot usually make people pay for cosmetic instead of things that change the gameplay
My friend and I are so excited for this game because even 4 years ago it looked better than minecraft which is what brought most of it's fans in. Like This game promises to be everything that minecraft adamently refuses to be despite it's constant updates that lack even a small amount of cohesion. I've lost my love for minecraft because even though it's changed drastically, it honestly hasn't changed at all since it's inception. There's not enough to do in the game to the point that even with 300+ mods I can't enjoy it like I used to.
Woley will release his new version of Cubeworld before this even gets an Alpha Build and he's just one person as his wife isn't helping him now. That's one game getting a major new update within a year or so being made by a single person compared a massive team that can't even get an early Alpha Build ready to show to the public. That's rather sad.
Don’t forget that the production of ToK they only developed the new stuff, they already had a world(ok they did make two more) and the physics engine(but they did expand.
From the first year after the trailer, I've thought and still think that, given the circumstance they found themselves in, they've pretty much gone the best route they could. After getting that much hype around their game by accident when they were no where near ready for release, reducing that hype as fast as they could was the right choice. Even if its left them with some negative backlash, come the release of the game, they're almost definitely getting more positive reviews and hype around their game than they would have, just as long as the game releases in a playable state, with most if not all of the features they actually promised. Unless something goes catastrophically wrong there is basically no chance the game doesn't release given its under the wing of riot, and knowing that they're taking this extra time, not just to add in a bunch of random features, but to actually sort out their engine, tells me they likely care quite a lot more than many developers do when it comes to performance and bug issues. It also tells me they've got a concise structure they want to follow in what features they add, which i feel makes more likely the chance those features will be well developed and enjoyable come release. Given these points, i disagree with the people who claim Hytale is a scam of a game. I think people just need to hold some more patience and trust in the team.
Oh yes I am so happy that I am gonna get to play this game in the little free time I have from working a 9-5 job after the game's announcement when I was in fucking middleschool
The problem is probably that games used to be finished before you got a trailer, and nothing was said about it for years, but now we see everything way too early which makes people more impatient...
Its a wonder that developers all usually still make the mistake of never updating anybody. Obviously frequent updates might reduce hype but the odd spaced out confirmation that it's still happening should be a minimum standard.
Minecraft doesnt own tile by tile survival sims, id say Vintage story has way more content and reward then minecraft, in an evolution style long play kinda thing, both games are for very different people who like geometry in block form, hytale id say looks like an inbetween bridging that gap and this is the first time im hearing about it, I can understand why people are hyped about it
Its difficult. See the 2018 trailer looked like a playable game, if they had released an alpha or something at that time to tide people over until a real release, i dont think people would be as upset. But it's difficult because if the game changes in core ways between then and the release, then players may feel that the final product isnt as good, or is lacking in the more unpolished, but exciting, features of that alpha. Like what happened with Cube World Alpha vs CW Release. I fully believe that without them being picked up by Riot we would already have the game in our hands. However, because they got picked up and have a bigger budget, what we're getting will be infinitely better than what we could've gotten. I think if they knew in advance that they would be picked up by Riot, i dont think they would've released that 2018 trailer. Because they would've known this would happen to the community. Ultimately, the community needs to be patient and understanding of the situation, because what we're getting [whenever that is] will be a better experience than what was shown in 2018, and way better than what we could've had.
I know a lot of people are desperately waiting on this game and it has been a long time since we got anything worthwile with it. But making a game isn't easy. And they want it to be the best they can possibly make it (I pray that's why they're taking so long anyway. I'm remaining optimistic about it.) I'd rather wait for the game to be ready than them just give it to us now knowing it's not done and deal with the flood of complaints. "Why's this broken?! We waited 5 years for this?!" Nobody wants to get those kinds of reviews day 1. So just hang in there guys.
@@voidazru True (I didn't watch the vid really just tried to leave an encouraging comment) but any developer would still like to make their game the best they can.
They definitely don't deserve any sort of hatred, but they did make some mistakes, like how few updates have been released about the state of the game. I definitely agree with your point about releasing the game rushed, but you can only take that so far. It's been 5 years since the trailer, and they don't really have much to show for it. It feels like a classic case of scope creep: instead of finishing the dang game, they just keep adding more and more features in a vicious cycle. More development time isn't going to fix that.
Hytale was hyping before because it was announced just after microsoft buying minecraft, but what now ? the game will not release before 2025, and there have been so much added to minecraft, be it official huge world updates or insane mods, Hytale will never be attractive like it was before anymore. And Riot joining the party is an even more source of concerns for people, as LoL is plagued with even more bugs as the year are passing and not being a company caring and listening to her community
I still have high hopes for Hytale, and I am glad they did the post, to say hey guys, weeeeerrree still here!! But ever since Hypixel became an arm of Riot, thats where my concern starts. We all know what happened to Blizzard after they merged with Activision. I pray that corporate influence doesnt corrupt Hytale. But with the state of gaming today, I have my doubts.
I don't understand how can you want to play this game... this game is like minecraft dungeons or minecraft legendsu.. and we all know both of this games are dead
I was never interested in this game, with the only thing I thought I heard about this game was that Hytale was trying to completely ruin Minecraft with its release, like steal all its players, so I just thought that I'll just ignore it from then on, and never heard any news about it until this video was posted. Honestly surprised it's still in development.
People need to understand how much riot entering changed hytales release timeline. It’s been stated that riot will gladly throw millions of dollars into a project it means perfection :p which no doubt they have been doing to hytale such as telling them to switch to c++
@@voidazru they can but don’t on purpose because they know that people like it when their champ is just flat out busted, hence why champions have their time in the spot light and then get nerfed into the ground

They will, they have riot games behind them. They probably wouldn't had them without the trailer 🙌
@@celian_ds wait until Riot start milking game to death
The hype will come back once the mc youtubers and the like start posting videos on it, but they have indeed missed the best timing to release it. At worst though I don't really think having it exposed to a big audience will be an issue by the time it releases, and hopefully it won't be a jank mess and full of content on release....I mean you have all this time so it seriously better not be.
I have hype for this game, but it just sits in the back of my mind waiting for the day a beta release trailer drops.
Another example of scope creep. I'm sure that's if they released it early access with a minimum viable product to play, It would be wildly popular and they can just add features on after it's out.
‘Tis a dangerous thing
Well developed essays AND highly-detailed builds?
Jeracraft is quickly becoming my favourite minecraft channel
3:20 obviously no project is 1-1 if you factor in the type of work needing to be done along with the skill of developers, but people need to keep this in mind. The pandemic and engine rework likely put the game into development hell for at least one whole year. All of a sudden you needed a team with a new skill set and a good chunk of your team is useless while the engine builders are remaking everything from Java. The 2023 summer hiring blog post was a soft reboot of development in my mind so if they’re aiming for a beta in 2024, I am impressed.
In the corner of my mind I am so hyped for this. When it does come out I will be there.
I guess a few
The one thing I look forward to most in Hytale is the modding capabilities. I never managed to get into minecraft modding since the scuffiness of Java would make it hard to create high quality content. But with Hytale as a baseline, its new engine in C++ and the modding they are promising, I think me and my fellas would have a great time creating some kind of weapon/magic pack or an entire adventure map.
people alway ask "where is hytale" but not "how is hytale"
I honestly always felt like it was strange how many people felt that Hytale was going to flop because of how long they're working on it, when I feel like they should be the opposite, I'd be far more worried if they were releasing it early before they feel it's ready
It's not about releasing it early, it's about giving your passionate audience nothing. There were years before riot bought them out. All we wanted was a play test :(
@@romanoreo The game is probably still years away from being in an alpha state, let alone being playable to the public. You probably couldn't even call it a game in its current state lol.
@@Topunito which is incredibley unfortunate for how many years its been.
@@TopunitoI don‘t think after 8 years of work that this is unplayable, I am pretty sure they already made all the beginning elements and basics, a roadmap without order is very unlikely. So a play test now would definitely be playable, it just probably wouldn‘t be quite finished in regards to adventure mode and programming tools
it was not that strange
hytale looks like one of those games from way back in 2014 - 2015 (etc.) when i couldn't afford the full version of minecraft
People want the game early but cry when it’s unfinished and buggy. When will we learn lmfao. Give it time. They will make do on their goals.
People don't complain if you don't tell them the game realese is in 2021 when it's 2027 at earliest
Newest blog post in a nutshell: "Hi, please don't leave us. We said the engine was going good but now...well we are going to spend all of our resources towards it next year. Oh hey, look one more Kweebek! Oh look avatars and the Capital, but you guessed it we aren't showing you nothing. Oh for the future, the release date is Ju- SIKE YOU THOUGHT LMAO we aren't showing you anything lmao! We basically just said it isn't coming out next year either cause the engine isn't even done and we haven't even finished everything we want to after that! You thought we were going to give you a well-thought-out blog post with good information but NOPE! LMAO get trolled Hytale community!" - Hytale team
(Btw I am not a Hytale hater I am really excited for the game I basically just thought it was sad they hyped this blogpost so much and we basically got nothing. Even though I am still looking forward to the game and will stick by it until the release!)
the simple fact hytale is basicly a Riot game, its enought to know they are working hard to deliver the best possible game possible, and obviusly thinking about the long term support the game will have
Just wait until jera hears about star citizen
once upon a time a blue girl said "don't make a girl a promise, if you know you can't keep it" and they did it, they made a promise that they couldn't keep
Jera, you have not a single idea on how hyped I am for this, specially your buildings in the game. I... I... I can't word how hyped I am, seriously.
Nah most people say it’s a Minecraft ripoff because it’s marketed as “a better Minecraft”.
In the meantime I’ve been playing this game called Vintage Story which is being developed by a former Hytale developer.
wasn't it a mod that eventually got it's own game?
As a software engineer myself, I have to defend the Hytale team:
Facts 😅
2:51 , is actually SethEverman?
Appreciate the credit on my video man
No problem 🔥
It's absurd to think that this game won't ever release or will "die on launch" due to the loss of hype surrounding the game. The reason for the silence is quite simple. Riot Games. It's how they have always operated.
Missteps of the Hytale development team
1. Announcing the game too early and hyping the community too early (this led to their competitor Minecraft starting to develop new content)
2. releasing their concepts too early (this leads to the fact that minecraft has almost completely copied Hytale's concepts and put them into their own games and now even if Hytale releases them, their concepts will still be said to be copy of minecraft)
3. they don't measure themselves (they have a good idea but they don't have enough ability to complete it, which led to the problem above, when they hadn't finished the game yet, Mojang almost completely copied the concepts their game, and resulted in losing trust of the community as the game's launch was delayed time and time again.)
This has to be the single best Hytale video I've ever seen. Also a very big fan!
I had completely forgotten about this game.
They hyped our expectations and want to live up to what they posted, but sometimes it's just not doable, especially if it impacts the emotional and mental health of the teams involved in the creation.
hytale is probably still years out, but hopefully with patience we can see this game come out and be as incredible as we all want it to be.
I do hope the it comes out eventually because it does look like the sort of game I've wanted for some time now. I really like both Minecraft and Terraria but what I really want is sort of a mix of both. (Or, well, _really_ I just want 3D Terraria with the scope of Minecraft, but I'd settle for a prettier, more action-oriented Minecraft with more customization.)
very well-made video it was entertaining and a fantastic summary of where we're at!
I would prefer it if you linked some of your "research", whether it be in the description or just throwing an article or interview on screen
It helps legitimize your words and claims, and provides more context and opportunity for people to look into it for themselves
No sorry, I edited those myself, I hope people don't think hytale ripped off world of warcraft sound effects 🤣
Vintage Story is another game anyone who likes Minecraft and are interested in hytale should check out
Showing a game (or idea) to the public before it’s completely finished is like fermentation, you let it age finely to get hyped up by the community and finally release it when the time is ripe, however somethings ferment better than others and if not done correctly may lead to anticipation turning into dread making it rotten, one must carefully plan ahead what they will do and take action when the fermenting process is turning sour by either releasing constant updates or setting believable and realistic deadlines
And now we got a Blogpost, good timing Jera! xD
honeslty dont show me a game trailer if you arent literally less than 4-6 months out from actually releasing. ill play it when it comes out but Im willing to bet it has tons of microtransactions backed into it now so my hope is dwindling hard for what it could of been.
WOOO welcome to the wait, friend!
The editing is crazy in this video, my eyes were constantly assaulted with bright, stimulating visuals
Can't belive that GD 2.2 will be released before hytale
People really just need to learn to be patient, or we’re gonna end up with another Cyberpunk situation.
Chances are it's going to flop at first too
Fantastic video 10/10 but the title and thumbnail are... Exagerated
I'm 20 years old. I've been waiting for this game a quarter of my life. 😂
same
I really want to see updates more often in the future, and that includes gameplay stuff. Like I know they changed engines, but I really want to see more than concepts. I want to see footage for things like their building and combat blogposts. I need more visual results.
I have a feeling they don't want to release anymore footage until they perfect the new engine, hopefully we'll get something soon!
riot being their publisher is the only reason why i don't believe the game is dead, but on the other hand i dislike that they got a big publisher, it means that they will have to satisfy the bean counters
As long as they dont lock features behind paywall, im okay with that. Also riot usually make people pay for cosmetic instead of things that change the gameplay
There’s a sort of peace in constantly waiting. Maybe I just think that so I don’t have to cry
This was a great essay video. I'd love to see you do more of these!
hytale: version 2.0 is nearly ready for playtesting!!!
everyone: V2?!?!? WE HAVEN'T EVEN SEEN V1
Honestly, I'm completly fine with them taking so long. After all, our kids want to have a nice blockgame as well XD
I am kind of hoping for an end result that is two parts Terraria, one part Minecraft and one part Valheim. If Hytale pulls it off, I am on board.
I love your normal building videos and this one was no execption! Great content, hope we see more!
Don’t forget that the production of ToK they only developed the new stuff, they already had a world(ok they did make two more) and the physics engine(but they did expand.
Still checking the blogposts nearly every day, and will continue to do so. 😁
...don't form a 'community' before there's a game. Have we learned nothing from No Man's Sky?
As a legend very recently said, delay is just for a while suck is forever.
Guys let's be fair, all those features will take a long time to make
I'm glad that the dev take time to make the best game for all of us. One thing I complain would be the lack of communication.
I made it in a Jera video! Was very entertaining to watch
Really well put together! Nicely done ☺️
I hope this isn't going down the direction of "the day before"
In the meantime, play Vintage Story.
It's refreshing seeing a Jeracraft video that didn't take half a year
i find it funny that Hytale also released a blog post today.
Why is there a random World of Warcraft "quest accept" sound effect at 2:36 lmfao
I know a lot of people are desperately waiting on this game and it has been a long time since we got anything worthwile with it. But making a game isn't easy. And they want it to be the best they can possibly make it (I pray that's why they're taking so long anyway. I'm remaining optimistic about it.)
I'd rather wait for the game to be ready than them just give it to us now knowing it's not done and deal with the flood of complaints. "Why's this broken?! We waited 5 years for this?!" Nobody wants to get those kinds of reviews day 1. So just hang in there guys.
perfectionism has never been healthy in any situation
@@bbrainstormer2036 I know im just trying to remain optimistic.
@@Guardian-of-Light137 I can respect that

Indeed. That's probably what will happen I think. If it ever comes out.
Honesty i forgot about this game in a week after the reveal, will probably forget again tomorrow
The lore of the development is just as big, if not bigger than the ingame lore
I don't understand how can you want to play this game... this game is like minecraft dungeons or minecraft legendsu.. and we all know both of this games are dead
I was never interested in this game, with the only thing I thought I heard about this game was that Hytale was trying to completely ruin Minecraft with its release, like steal all its players, so I just thought that I'll just ignore it from then on, and never heard any news about it until this video was posted. Honestly surprised it's still in development.
People need to understand how much riot entering changed hytales release timeline. It’s been stated that riot will gladly throw millions of dollars into a project it means perfection :p which no doubt they have been doing to hytale such as telling them to switch to c++
rito cant even perfect the cashcow mother of all; league of legends
@@voidazru they can but don’t on purpose because they know that people like it when their champ is just flat out busted, hence why champions have their time in the spot light and then get nerfed into the ground

They announced this waaaaay to early I'm not expecting this to release till 2026 and the earliest since they're reworking the engine
These impatient younglings ... How can i be in bad mood when the developement is going on? Once it's done i will have pretty amazing game to play. I can wait few more years. Both Mount and Blade: Bannerlord and Kingdome come: Deliverence had a very long and complicated developement too and they came out as a great games. It is not like i had to wait in cave until is the Hytale finished either. I have played so many nice games since i saw the Hytale trailer and i will play more of them until Hytale is released 🙂
every year im seeing this kind of videos :D
bro even comparing terraria and minecraft is a joke they play completly diffrently they are total seprate games one is about exploring and mastaring macnics the other is about boss fights and knowlage of items
My fear is that is comes out like startfield, don't game me wrong, the game is good but the idea was so big and the expectations were crushed when you see the result. Hytale looks really nice but they are hyping something that will take a long time to actually be able to finish. At first I was really anxious to be able to play it, but now I forget that it exists.
a simple thing that has to be known about game development, hindsight is 20/20 but foresight is blind
it will release when it's ready, when ready is i don't know but it'll come eventually
and with the latest blog post it might even show real signs of life in 2024, maybe even mention of the beta test i signed up for years ago (of prospective scheduling quarter something in 2025)
Amazing video, Jera. I can understand why this video took so long to make.
Also ty for putting me in there :)
