      We were lucky to get it to ourselves a bit by coming in the afternoon. Being right up the top, a lot of tour buses seem to hit it early on in the day then work back. Thanks again for the comment! 👍

    Thanks for the video guys. We are planing a trip to Fraser in November. are the beach camp grounds big enough for a camper trailer to set up

    • @todoingfamily
      @todoingfamily  4 роки тому

      Yep, they absolutely are. You just pick your own spot within a defined area for the beach camps 👍

    Advice if you are touring with a tent. Get a touring tent. Maybe bulky, but literally camp is setup in 20 minutes max.

    • @todoingfamily
      @todoingfamily  4 роки тому

      Thanks for sharing the tip! We had to go with our setup due to size and weight for a whole lap of Australia. Agree though, if just in tents would've been great.

    Have you seen the movie rocket post. England and other country looked for rocket engineers to fire rockets to send mail from main land and island to island. Just as ww2 started Germany called back the engineers. They selected the ones the wanted. The rest where killed off so the an enermy if captured would not use them. Russell

    Was hoping to see some footage of Inskip Point driving across to get on the ferry.
    fuel available on the island?

    • @todoingfamily
      @todoingfamily  4 роки тому

      It was actually pretty mundane! Straight accross, tyres at 18psi from the Carpark, straight up onto the ferry. But of a beat up! Fuel is around, but we used less than a tank filled at Rainbow Beach before going over. Standard LC200 138L tank. Sorry me didn't include that, was very mundane though!!

    You literally showed nothing except going to Eli with kids, and getting bogged. setting up a tent at Central Stn, and doing what EVERYONE else does on East side - driving up beach and visiting every single tourist spot.. Why don't you show how to get to ferry points, what you need to do to your 4WD before driving on the island, where to get supplies, where to get water, where to drive during high/low tides. places for families/kids to stay. The West Side. How to get on/off barges with trailer/caravan etc. Where to do Laundry. Places to eat. Places to get fuel. What equipment needed to go there in terms of recovery gear etc.... How to get to Sandy Point. How to get to Wooralie Creek, Wathumba creek, and Moon Point and Coongil. If coming on from Manta Ray, how to navigate beach and inland. What are the spots on SW side like Ungowa etc. Maybe explain that getting Barge from River Heads to Wongoolba Creek that you can easily drive the inland roads to Dili Village and then up beach to Eurong faster and easier that from Kingfisher . You showed literally what a thousand other people have uploaded......

    From Sydney, do you recommend the barge from Inskip or River Heads?

    • @todoingfamily

      Really depends on where you want to come in on the Island. We took the barge from Inskip (it's not that bad!) And were happy with the route. 👍
