Stumbled on to your video and glad I did. After watching your review, I ordered one from TMC, very good price compared to elsewhere. I paid less to buy and get it shipped to Southern California than i could buy from a US based supplier on Amazon. As an ex-pat Scotsman, this made me really happy. Thanks for the great review and the heads up. You got a new subscriber!
I usually end up hanging onto the bike rack in these machines because some-one got my pre-booked slot. They look highly detailed for such a model and it's nice to see. Not sure of the livery myself but it is done well. The detail of the re-built ends is really something! I do hope the pick-ups are of decent quality, but they do make that difference, it seems, with all wheel pick-ups fitted. I dare say even a DC modeller could get an led or two on the ceiling there. It's what modelling's about. A very handsome score and a fantastic review. Thank you Jenny. All the best for the New Year. Cheers now.
l purchased one of these and very happy. I have read the reviews about the quality of the printing but I thhick the one I have is quite good. Just imagine the cost if Hornby pad printed this. Everybody would then be complaining about the cost.
Seems like I subscribe to this channel every three months but I do. I have always liked the look of your layout and the way you present products,. Well done Jenny and Happy New Year to you and your mate.
Clip-on bodies - I cut up an old acrylic 'window' into strips - from a model box 'window' - serves the job nicely, but they are hard to find if you put them down! 🙂
I’ve been on Arcadia models website and I see they have the a4 60030 Golden Fleece in stock I know you were gonna get it to your a4 collection if I’m right
I Have a Class 153 My running number is 57380 my 8 pin decoder only has one wire not soldered into the decoder which is coloured light purple as I would like to put lights in the seating area . have you an idea how I can do this?
Hi Jennifer I've Been A Big Fan Of Your Channel and Videos For Quite Some Time Now And always Look Forward To Your Review Uploads Of Trains Anyway I've Just Purchased This class 153 Scott Rail From Hornby As At The Moment it's £99.95 So Not A Bad Price For What Your Getting I Always Take Your Reviews Into account For What I Purchase For My Layout And I Gotta Say Not One Of Your Videos Has Disappointed Me Or Reviews Keep Up The Good Work Matey Like I Said I Always Look Forward To Your Videos With A Nice Cup Of Tea and A Few Biscuits Haha
I don’t purchase coach like or DMU loco’s as they lack character. I do like your enthusiasm for this livery, surely you have seen the whole range of the Class 66 ( sheds ) I have eight at the moment + one on order. What do you think ? Regards from Ron 🚂👍🚂
So I have had one of these for a couple of months. I managed to get it for £106 and even then I have to say I am personally disappointed with the livery quality. Close up it is really poor quality and from 2ft away I still maintain it's poor with a distinct lack of crispness to any of the printing on the sides that can be seen at beyond 2ft to my eyes. The door labels are particularly bad. I only joined the hobby after the rainbow railways versions had sold out but their implementation, though more costly was much better. I personally would have happily have paid double for a top notch application as I realise that it is so complex so shouldn't be priced equal to a more normal one. It just seems the UV printer they used didn't quite have the DPI required or was calibrated well. If was Hornby I wouldn't have accepted these as samples from the manufacturer. I really wish that I had returned it as from reading RMWeb there appears to be another manufacturer gearing up for a 4mm 153 so a fair chance to get a better livery application.
Happy New Year Jen & Zoe. Why do Hornby frequently use wheels that look nothing scale like or realistic? Those wheels look awful as they do on many Hornby diesel locos. Totally spoils the overall look imho.
As of sept 24. rails has this for £89.99. just ordered one. 👍. Then found the review so happy days.

Thank you for the excellent video.
Thank you for this helpful video. Can 2 or 3 DMU's be run together.
Youve done it again. Jen. Have went and bought one.
It is a great model,if Bachmann made this they would have added interior lighting and slapped an extra £100 on the price.

Great content
I found the paint work on mine to be a lot paler than those shown in videos. Do people saturate the colours within their cameras or editing software?
Some UA-camrs may mess with the vibrancy settings but Zoë, our editor, does not. This is just the results of good lighting and cameras.

why does UA-cam unsub me ? gr8 video by the way
I have the Rainbow Railways version and whilst Hornby haven’t done a bad job, the Rainbow version is definitely better.
Nice 🙂

No, they don't.
In one of your live streams you joke about wanting someone to rewire your layout
Well I'll be happy to come do that for you
I think I've seen this in The Hobby Goblin, but a bit too pricey for my liking for a single loco "set".
There's a nice looking Carlisle one too.
